Electrospinning has exhibited excellent benefits to treat the trauma for tissue engineering due to its produced micro/nano fibrous structure. It can effectively adhere to the tissue surface for long-term continuous therapy. This paper develops a robotic electrospinning platform for endoluminal therapy. The platform consists of a continuum manipulator, the electrospinning device, and the actuation unit. The continuum manipulator has two bending sections to facilitate the steering of the tip needle for a controllable spinning direction. Non-circular joint profile is carefully designed to enable a constant length of the centreline of a continuum manipulator for stable fluid transmission inside it. Experiments are performed on a bronchus phantom, and the steering ability and bending limitation in each direction are also investigated. The endoluminal electrospinning is also fulfilled by a trajectory following and points targeting experiments. The effective adhesive area of the produced fibre is also illustrated. The proposed robotic electrospinning shows its feasibility to precisely spread more therapeutic drug to construct fibrous structure for potential endoluminal treatments.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) constitutes an essential and promising paradigm that relies programmable wireless environment and provides capability for space-intensive communications, due to the use of low-cost massive reflecting elements over the entire surfaces of man-made structures. However, accurate channel estimation is a fundamental technical prerequisite to achieve the huge performance gains from RIS. By leveraging the low rank structure of RIS channels, three practical residual neural networks, named convolutional blind denoising network, convolutional denoising generative adversarial networks and multiple residual dense network, are proposed to obtain accurate channel state information, which can reflect the impact of different methods on the estimation performance. Simulation results reveal the evolution direction of these three methods and reveal their superior performance compared with existing benchmark schemes. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. Vehicle detection based on point cloud intensity and distance clustering

In the intelligent transportation system, vehicle detection is one of the essential technologies in obstacle avoidance and navigation, however the existing vehicle detection methods cannot meet the actual needs. This paper presents a vehicle detection method combines the intensity and distance information of point cloud, which improves the segmentation performance of nearby objects. Specifically, the data of point cloud collected by lidar is preprocessed first. Then the processed point cloud is clustered by combining its coordinate and intensity information. Finally, the clustered suspected targets are fed to the random forest classifier. Our method can efficiently detect and classify targets in large-scale disordered 3D point cloud with high accuracy. In the real-scanned Livox Mid-40 Lidar dataset, our proposed method improves the detection accuracy by 31% compared with the traditional Euclidean clustering.

Chimera states are spatiotemporal patterns in which coherence and incoherence coexist. We observe the coexistence of synchronous (coherent) and desynchronous (incoherent) domains in a neuronal network. The network is composed of coupled adaptive exponential integrate-and-fire neurons that are connected by means of chemical synapses. In our neuronal network, the chimera states exhibit spatial structures both with spikes and bursts activities. Furthermore, those desynchronised domains not only have either spike or burst activity, but we show that the structures switch between spikes and bursts as the time evolves. Models of strategy evolution on static networks help us understand how population structure can promote the spread of traits like cooperation. One key mechanism is the formation of altruistic spatial clusters, where neighbors of a cooperative individual are likely to reciprocate, which protects prosocial traits from exploitation. But most real-world interactions are ephemeral and subject to exogenous restructuring, so that social networks change over time. Strategic behavior on dynamic networks is difficult to study, and much less is known about the resulting evolutionary dynamics. Here, we provide an analytical treatment of cooperation on dynamic networks, allowing for arbitrary spatial and temporal heterogeneity. We show that transitions among a large class of network structures can favor the spread of cooperation, even if each individual social network would inhibit cooperation when static. Furthermore, we show that spatial heterogeneity tends to inhibit cooperation, whereas temporal heterogeneity tends to promote it. Dynamic networks can have profound effects on the evolution of prosocial traits, even when individuals have no agency over network structures. © 2023, CC BY.

CBS-GAN: A Band Selection Based Generative Adversarial Net for Hyperspectral Sample Generation

Sample generation is an effective method to improve the performance of hyperspectral image classification by generating virtual samples for training sample expansion in the training process of classification. However, there are some defects existing in the previous sample generation methods including the lack of spatial information, the redundant generation and the damage of the original spectral components. In this paper, we propose conditional band selection generative adversarial net, named CBS-GAN, to handle this problem. Firstly, the band selection net of CBS-GAN is utilized to avoid redundant bands and keep original spectral information, then the generation net of CBS-GAN generates the spatial-spectral data blocks by selected bands for sample generation. The experiments of classification are also used to demonstrate the availability of virtual samples generated by our method.

We investigate the basin of attraction properties and its boundaries for chimera states in a circulant network of Hénon maps. It is known that coexisting basins of attraction lead to a hysteretic behaviour in the diagrams of the density of states as a function of a varying parameter. Chimera states, for which coherent and incoherent domains occur simultaneously, emerge as a consequence of the coexistence of basin of attractions for each state. Consequently, the distribution of chimera states can remain invariant by a parameter change, as well as it can suffer subtle changes when one of the basins ceases to exist. A similar phenomenon is observed when perturbations are applied in the initial conditions. By means of the uncertainty exponent, we characterise the basin boundaries between the coherent and chimera states, and between the incoherent and chimera states, respectively. This way, we show that the density of chimera states can be not only moderately sensitive but also highly sensitive to initial conditions. This chimera's dilemma is a consequence of the fractal and riddled nature of the basins boundaries. Coupled dynamical systems have been used to describe the behaviour of real complex systems, such as power grids, neuronal networks, economics, and chemical reactions. Furthermore, these systems can exhibit various kinds of interesting nonlinear dynamics, e.g. synchronisation, chaotic oscillations, and chimera states. The chimera state is a spatio-temporal pattern characterised by the coexistence of coherent and incoherent dynamics. It has been observed in a great variety of systems, ranging from theoretical and experimental arrays of oscillators, to in phenomena such as the unihemispheric sleep of cetaceans. We study the chimera state in a circulant network of Hénon maps, seeking to determine how the density of states in the network depends on the system parameters and the initial conditions.
