Robust visual tracking for outdoor vehicle is still a challenging problem due to large appearance variations caused by illumination variation, occlusion and scale variation, etc. In this paper, a deep-learning-based approach for robust outdoor vehicle tracking is proposed. Firstly, a stacked denoising auto-encoder is pre-trained to learn the feature representation way of images. Then, a k-sparse constraint is added to the stacked denoising auto-encoder and the encoder of k-sparse stacked denoising auto-encoder (kSSDAE) is connected with a classification layer to construct a classification neural network. After fine-tuning, the classification neural network is applied to online tracking under particle filter framework. Extensive tracking experiments are conducted on a challenging single object online tracking evaluation platform benchmark to verify the effectiveness of our tracker. Experiments show that our tracker outperforms most state-of-the-art trackers.

The study shows that the leakage of the expansion joints in the underground heating primary pipe network will lead to the fluctuation of soil temperature and conductivity around the leakage point. Based on the online monitoring of changes of physical quantities around the expansion joint, this paper established the assessment model of temperature and conductivity as the input parameters and the degree of expansion joints leakage as the output parameters, which took the radial basis function as kernel function and made use of PSO algorithm to achieve the optimization of the kernel function parameters. Then, the temperature and conductivity were predicted based on the ARIMA model, and the LS-SVM assessment of expansion joint leakage was realized according to the prediction results. Both simulation and field experiments show that the prediction model based on ARIMA has higher accuracy, which has identified the foundation for on-line prediction and accurate assessment of the expansion joint leakage in the underground heating primary pipe network.

A soft-switching solution implemented to the traditional bidirectional DC/DC converter is developed. The soft-switching cell, which composed of three auxiliary switches, one resonant capacitor and one resonant inductor, is equipped in the traditional bidirectional DC/DC converter to realize circuit ZCT or ZVT operations in both energy transmission directions. Two driving methods are presented to charging energy for different storage applications according to the storage materials' electrical characteristics. There are two methods in buck mode. The first method with low conduction losses suffers from a hard turning off process in one of the auxiliary switches, while the others experience the soft operation. As for the other method, the zero voltage or zero current transmissions in all switches are realized, however, the relative higher but fixed conduction losses are introduced by the resonant circle. And the proposed topology of bidirectional soft-switching dc-dc converter (TASBC) performs ideal soft switching at boost operations. The characteristics of the proposed converter has been verified by MATLAB simulations and experimental results.

Wireless communication using chaotic baseband waveform

Some new properties of the chaotic signal have been implemented in communication system applications recently. They include: (i) chaos is proven to be the optimal communication waveform in the sense of very simple matched filter being used to achieve maximum signal to noise ratio;(ii) the amount of information contained in a chaotic signal is unaltered by a wireless multipath channel;and (iii) chaos property can be used to resist multipath effect. All these support the application of chaos in a practical communication system. However, due to the broadband property of the chaotic signal, it is very difficult for a practical transducer or antenna to convert such a broadband signal into a signal that would be suitable for practical band-limited wireless channel. Thus, the use of chaos property to improve the performance of conventional communication system without changing the system configuration becomes a critical issue in communication with chaos. In this paper, chaotic baseband waveform generated by a chaotic shaping filter is used to show that this difficulty can be overcome. The generated continuous-time chaotic waveform is proven to be topologically conjugate to a symbolic sequence, allowing the encoding of arbitrary information sequence into the chaotic waveform. A finite impulse response filter is used to replace the impulse control in order to encode information into the chaotic signal, simplifying the algorithm for high speed communication. A wireless communication system is being proposed using the chaotic signal as the baseband waveform, which is compatible with the general wireless communication platform. The matched filter and decoding method, using chaos properties, enhance the communication system performance. The Bit Error Rate (BER) and computational complexity performances of the proposed wireless communication system are analyzed and compared with the conventional wireless systems. Secure communication using hyperchaos has a better potential performance, but hyperchaotic impulse circuits synchronization is a challenging task. In this paper, an impulse control method is proposed for the synchronization of two hyperchaotic Chen circuits. The sufficient conditions for the synchronization of hyperchaotic systems using the impulse control are given. The upper bound of the impulse interval is derived to assure the synchronization error system to be asymptotically stable. Radio-wave communication with chaos

The invariance of the Lyapunov exponent of a chaotic signal as it propagates along a wireless transmission channel provides a theoretical base for the application of chaos in wireless communication. In additive Gaussian channel, the chaotic signal is proved to be the optimal coherent communication waveform in the sense of using the very simple matched filter to obtain the maximum signal-to-noise ratio. The properties of chaos can be used to reduce simply and effectively the Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and to achieve low bit error rate in the wireless communication system. However, chaotic signals need very wide bandwidth to be transmitted in the practical channel, which is difficult for the practical transducer or antenna to convert such a broad band signal. To solve this problem, in this work, the chaotic signal is applied to a radio-wave communication system, and the corresponding coding and decoding algorithms are proposed. A hybrid chaotic system is used as the pulse-shaping filter to obtain the baseband signal, and the corresponding matched filter is used at the receiver, instead of the conventional low-pass filter, to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio. At the same time, the symbol judgment threshold determined by the chaos property is used to reduce the Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) effect. Simulations and virtual channel experiments show that the radio-wave communication system using chaos obtains lower bit error rate in the multi-path transmission channel compared with the traditional radio-wave communication system using Binary Phase Shift keying (BPSK) modulation technology and channel equalization. The Alternating Directions Methods of Multipliers (ADMM) are widely used in many fields of scientific computing in recent years. This method applies iterative computation to the information exchange between individual agent and neighbor. However, despite the success of traditional centralized ADMM in some application environments, its applicability is limited in global convergence center by its communication requirements. In our paper, we provide the linear convergence rate for this distributed consensus optimization problem, which satisfies strongly convex local objective functions. Then, the properties of the local objective function and the parameters of the algorithm, the theoretical convergence rate is given according to the network topology.

Simple molecular graphs or molecular line notations are insufficient for molecular representation learning models that automatically learn molecule representations to acquire deep semantic features about chemistry. Therefore, we proposed the Morgan Fingerprint Graph, a novel molecular graph model constructed with the nodes of the Morgan Fingerprint Identifier, whose nodes incorporate various properties of the atom neighborhood. Based on our Morgan Fingerprint Graph, we trained a BERT-based molecular representation model MFGB which employs a local rather than global attention module to adapt the model to the Morgan Fingerprint Graph. The attention module of MFGB regulates the exchange of information in the attention layer based on the connection information of the atoms in the molecules. To verify the effectiveness of MFGB, we selected several mainstream datasets for evaluation. The results demonstrated that our method improve the performance of molecular properties prediction. In addition, we analyzed MFGB from both the over-smoothing and the attention perspectives. The analysis indicates that the node vector representations learned from the Morgan Fingerprint Graph are generally less smoothing, and the attention distributions of MFGB match the partial charge density distribution of the molecules. © 2023 IEEE.

Research of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) formation is a hot spot in the field of UAV applications. Based on the fountain code, an encoding communication scheme using unequal level coding Lu by Transform (ULC-LT) code and stepwise unequal error protection Lu by Transform (SUEP-LT) code are proposed for the UAV formation communication. Simulation results reveal that the proposed coding scheme can reduce the decoding bit error rate and provide strong unequal error protection property across sources.

In this paper, an insulator missing defect detection method is proposed based on unmanned aerial vehicles to solve the problem of glass insulator burst fault detection in high-voltage transmission lines. Firstly, the proposed method utilizes the improved Mask R-CNN (region-based convolutional neural network) algorithm to segment insulator strings in aerial images. Then, the constructed encoder-decoder network is used to extract and reconstruct features of the insulators, resulting in residual images. Finally, the residual images preserve the location information of the fault and obtains the result of missing insulators. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm has high segmentation accuracy for insulators and high recognition accuracy for insulator missing faults.
