Distributed Stabilization of Signed Networks via Self-loop Compensation

This paper examines the stability and distributed stabilization of signed multi-agent networks. Here, positive semidefiniteness is not inherent for signed Laplacians, which renders the stability and consensus of this category of networks intricate. First, we examine the stability of signed networks by introducing a novel graph-theoretic objective negative cut set, which implies that manipulating negative edge weights cannot change a unstable network into a stable one. Then, inspired by the diagonal dominance and stability of matrices, a local state damping mechanism is introduced using self-loop compensation. The self-loop compensation is only active for those agents who are incident to negative edges and can stabilize signed networks in a fully distributed manner. Quantitative connections between selfloop compensation and the stability of the compensated signed network are established for a tradeoff between compensation efforts and network stability. Necessary and/or sufficient conditions for predictable cluster consensus of compensated signed networks are provided. The optimality of self-loop compensation is discussed. Furthermore, we extend our results to directed signed networks where the symmetry of signed Laplacian is not free. The correlation between the stability of the compensated dynamics obtained by self-loop compensation and eventually positivity is further discussed. Novel insights into the stability of multi-agent systems on signed networks in terms of self-loop compensation are offered. Simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the theoretical results. The safe and stable operation of the generator set is related to the national economy and people's livelihood. As an important part of generator excitation system, carbon brush and slip ring temperature monitoring can effectively evaluate the state of the generator, which plays a vital role. Most of the current researches use infrared images to monitor carbon brush temperature, but there are often problems such as high noise and unclear focus. According to the requirements of infrared image display, this paper combines the method of bistable stochastic resonance to denoise the image, and on this basis, introduces the adaptive stochastic resonance array method to denoise the gray image. Experimental results show that compared with common image denoising methods and classic bistable stochastic resonance, the adaptive stochastic resonance array method has improved both visual effects and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), which further proves the good application of stochastic resonance in weak signal detection and extraction. © 2021 IEEE

Internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling is a vital vitreoretinal surgery procedure. However, due to the thickness of just 1-2 micrometers and the intricacies associated with its varying density and adhesion, the difficulty of manipulation exceeds the physiological limits of human perception and operation. Surgical robot is characterized by high precision and stability. However, navigating intricate intraocular environments and handling minuscule high-precision areas remain enormous challenges. These include issues of uneven lighting, field-of-view loss, and motion blur. This paper proposed a perception method named ‘Multimodal Surgical Process Recognition based on Domain Knowledge and Segmentation (MSPR-DKS),’ designed to address these challenges and provide input for the precise control of robots. Moreover, a comprehensive dataset focused on ILM peeling during macular hole surgeries was established. Experimental results underscore the efficacy of this approach, with segmentation accuracies exceeding 99.27% for instruments and macular holes and an average accuracy of 98.97% in recognizing surgical processes. This study paves the way for leveraging domain knowledge and image segmentation to improve robot-assisted manipulation of soft tissues in ophthalmology.

Due to the different losses caused by various photovoltaic (PV) array faults, accurate diagnosis of fault types is becoming increasingly important. Compared with a single one, multiple PV stations collect sufficient fault samples, but their data is not allowed to be shared directly due to potential conflicts of interest. Therefore, federated learning can be exploited to train a collaborative fault diagnosis model. However, the modeling efficiency is seriously affected by the model update mechanism since each PV station has a different computing capability and amount of data. Moreover, for the safe and stable operation of the PV system, the robustness of collaborative modeling must be guaranteed rather than simply being processed on a central server. To address these challenges, a novel asynchronous decentralized federated learning (ADFL) framework is proposed. Each PV station not only trains its local model but also participates in collaborative fault diagnosis by exchanging model parameters to improve the generalization without losing accuracy. The global model is aggregated distributedly to avoid central node failure. By designing the asynchronous update scheme, the communication overhead and training time are greatly reduced. Most recent intelligent systems study the perception or policy modules independently but ignore the inter-connection between them, which results in low information efficiency and high network redundancy, in the end, leads to the incomplete utilization of network potential and poor system-level end-to-end intelligence. This paper proposes an integrated end-to-end network that adapts to multi-domain inputs and multi-function outputs. “Integration” is defined in this paper in mainly three aspects: network structure level, optimization level, and functional level. The integrated network architecture is capable of fusing multiple raw sensory inputs and outputting multiple perceptions and decisions simultaneously. We first implement the integrated system in a virtual simulation environ-ment and investigate the domain transformation methods to real world. Comprehensive experiment results in both virtual and real environments show that our proposed system can behave normally under exploration, target-driven navigation and target shooting tasks.

The renewable energy is connected to the power grid through power electronic converters, which are lack of make the inertia of synchronous generator/machine (SM) be lost. The increasing penetration of renewable energy in power system weakens the frequency and voltage stability. The Grid-Forming Converters(GFCs) simulate the function of synchronous motor through control method in order to improve the stability of power grid by providing inertia and stability regulation mechanism. This kind of converter control methods include virtual synchronous machine, schedulable virtual oscillator control and so on. These control method mainly use AC side state feedback and do not monitor the DC side state. This paper analyzes the control strategy of GFC considering power grid stability, including Frequency Droop control, Virtual Synchronous Machine control and dispatchable Virtual Oscillator control. The DC side voltage collapse problem is found when a large load disturbance occurs. The control methods of GFC considering DC side voltage feedback are proposed, which can ensure the synchronization characteristics of grid connection and solve the problem of DC side voltage collapse. Fire segmentation is very important for fire rescue. It can make firefighters get the information on fire area, spread direction and so on, and then help them make quick and effective fire-fighting plan. Therefore, this paper proposes an early forest fire segmentation algorithm based on a deep learning model, named F-Unet, which mainly uses the architecture idea of Unet for reference. F-Unet consists of contraction path, feature fusion layer and expansion path. The contraction path is composed of the first 13 layers of VGG16, which is used to obtain feature maps with different scales. In order to improve the segmentation accuracy of the model, the feature fusion network proposed in this paper is added to the Unet architecture to fuse these feature maps with different scales. The expansion path is used for upsampling these feature maps to restore the size of the original input image and obtain the fire segmentation results. The experimental testing results on the FLAME dataset show that F-Unet can significantly improve the fire segmentation precision, and also prove that the proposed feature fusion network is effective to improve the performance of fire segmentation.

This paper addresses the robustness of a network to sustain its connectivity and controllability against malicious attacks. This kind of network robustness is typically measured by the time-consuming attack simulation, which returns a sequence of values that record the remaining connectivity and controllability after a sequence of node- or edge-removal attacks. For improvement, this paper develops an efficient framework for network robustness prediction, the spatial pyramid pooling convolutional neural network (SPP-CNN). The new framework installs a spatial pyramid pooling layer between the convolutional and fully-connected layers, overcoming the common mismatch issue in the CNN-based prediction approaches and extending its generalizability. Extensive experiments are carried out by comparing SPP-CNN with three state-of-the-art robustness predictors, namely a CNN-based and two graph neural networks-based frameworks. Synthetic and real-world networks, both directed and undirected, are investigated. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed SPP-CNN achieves better prediction performances and better generalizability to unknown datasets, with significantly lower time-consumption, than its counterparts. © 2023, CC BY.

With the development of control theory and the pneumatic element, the application of pneumatic systems has attracted more attention because of the performance to price ratio improvement. Despite of these, there are still challenge to deal with the nonlinearity of the system, the uncertainty of the parameters, the input saturation and the unknown control direction in the tracking control of pneumatic system. In this paper, the nonlinearity and model uncertainty are treated with adaptive radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), meanwhile, the unknown control direction and input saturation are dealt with the Nussbaum function and Gauss error function, respectively. The stability of the designed controller is proved by Lyapunov theory. Finally, the experimental and comparison results show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.
