Accurately identifying real anomalies and pseudo-anomalies in complex multi-dimensional time series data has been a difficult problem in time series anomaly detection. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new framework, STAD, that joint temporal and spatial dimensions. This framework guides the model to capture the correlation information between channels It also aims to learn the deep feature representation of sequences by mining potential information in the spatialtemporal dimension. It can effectively distinguish between true and false anomalies by comparing information from spatial and temporal dimensions. STAD identifies and integrates correlated channels by using a correlation aggregation mechanism to join multiple channels and detect *** addition, the KAN mixer designed in this paper can effectively extract features from different spatial locations in the spatial-temporal dimension. Through extensive experiments on several public datasets, STAD demonstrates its superiority in terms of accuracy and robustness.

Reinforcement learning (RL) aims to formulate the recommendation task as a Markov decision process (MDP) and trains an agent to automatically learn the optimal recommendation policy from interaction trajectories through trial-and-error and reward mechanisms. However, most existing RL-based approaches overlook the correlation between items and the dynamics of user interests implied in temporally close interactions. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a reinforcement learning method that incorporates a "recent-k items"distribution to capture users' local preferences. Specifically, we model the output layer as two distinct branches. The "recent-k items"branch, formulated with a Kullback-Leibler divergence loss, learns the recent interests of users, whereas the other branch utilizes a one-step temporal difference error to capture long-term preferences. The proposed structure is integrated into deep Q-learning and actor-critics, resulting in two enhanced methods named R k Q and R k AC, respectively. Furthermore, a novel soft inter-reward is carefully designed to enhance the proposed method, and we theoretically prove the convergence of the proposed algorithm. We perform extensive experiments on two large real-world datasets and conduct further analysis of the influences of different action sequences, time intervals, and enhancement capabilities for state-of-the-art models. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed methods. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

A detection model for dust deposition on photovoltaic (PV) panels based on light transmittance estimation

Dust deposition on photovoltaic (PV) panels significantly reduces light transmittance and power conversion efficiency. Therefore, real-time dust detection systems are crucial for proactive cleaning and maintenance to improve light absorption and the operational efficiency of PV systems. This paper developed an end-to-end PV dust detection model, DVNET, based on light transmittance estimation. The model quantifies the dust density on PV panels using image processing to estimate light transmittance and determine optimal cleaning strategies. The DVNET architecture captures the mapping relationship between light transmittance and dust density. The model calculates the light transmittance of dusty images, enabling a quantitative assessment of dust deposition. Images are acquired and preprocessed to eliminate noise and irrelevant information and obtain optimal model training conditions. Experiments are conducted to evaluate model performance. The results indicate that the proposed model accurately estimates light transmittance using images of PV panels and generates transmittance maps to visualize the dust distribution on the panel surfaces. DVNET outperforms five benchmark models, achieving the lowest mean square error (MSE) of 0.00044. The performances of the squeeze-and-excitation block (SEBlock) module, the convolutional block attention module (CBAM), and the multiply-add-combine (MAC) attention mechanism are evaluated. The experimentally determined relative error (RE) is below 0.03 for uniform and non-uniform transmittance. The observed and predicted correlations between dust deposition and transmittance are highly similar for PV panels with different dust densities, demonstrating the model's applicability in real-world scenarios. The experiment demonstrated that the DVNET model exhibits low computational resource consumption, fast training time, as well as remarkable scalability and computational performance on large-scale datasets. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Safe and Reliable Diffusion Models via Subspace Projection

Large-scale text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models have revolutionized image generation, enabling the synthesis of highly detailed visuals from textual descriptions. However, these models may inadvertently generate inappropriate content, such as copyrighted works or offensive images. While existing methods attempt to eliminate specific unwanted concepts, they often fail to ensure complete removal—allowing the concept to reappear in subtle forms. For instance, a model may successfully avoid generating images in Van Gogh’s style when explicitly prompted with "Van Gogh", yet still reproduce his signature artwork when given the prompt "Starry Night". In this paper, we propose SAFER, a novel and efficient approach for thoroughly removing target concepts from diffusion models. At a high level, SAFER is inspired by the observed low-dimensional structure of the text embedding space. The method first identifies a concept-specific subspace Sc associated with the target concept c. It then projects the prompt embeddings onto the complementary subspace of Sc, effectively erasing the concept from the generated images. Since concepts can be abstract and difficult to fully capture using natural language alone, we employ textual inversion to learn an optimized embedding of the target concept from a reference image. This enables more precise subspace estimation and enhances removal performance. Furthermore, we introduce a subspace expansion strategy to ensure comprehensive and robust concept erasure. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SAFER consistently and effectively erases unwanted concepts from diffusion models while preserving generation quality. © 2025, CC BY.

The goal of fusing hyperspectral images (HSI) and multispectral images (MSI) is to generate high-resolution hyperspectral images for downstream tasks. However, most existing methods overlook the specific requirements of these tasks, leading to a gap between the fusion process and its subsequent applications due to insufficient guidance from downstream tasks. To address this issue, we propose a classification-guided multitask interactive network (CGNet) that integrates both fusion and classification tasks into a unified framework, with two branches producing the fused image and classification results, respectively. In the fusion branch, we design a multi-level residual refinement module to efficiently integrate spatial and spectral information. Additionally, an attention-based multi-scale fusion module, incorporating both spatial and channel attention, is carefully crafted to enhance representation learning. In the classification branch, both 2-D and 3-D convolutions are employed to improve classification performance. Moreover, an information interaction module is proposed to guide the fusion task based on classification outcomes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on the Pavia Centre and Pavia University datasets.

The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding assigns standardized codes to diseases. Automating this process enhances the efficiency and accuracy of clinical records processing. However, current methods struggle with noisy and lengthy clinical texts, making it difficult to ensure the reliability of feature extraction. Furthermore, they typically make separate binary predictions for each code, overlooking the dependencies between them. To address these issues, we propose a novel model called Hierarchical Feature Optimization and Rescorer (HiRes). We employ a cascaded convolution architecture to mitigate noise and enhance feature representation. Additionally, a masked autoencoder-based rescorer is introduced to capture ICD code interdependencies, refining initial predictions for improved accuracy. The model also considers the inconsistencies in code representations. Experiments on the MIMIC datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our model.

Federated Learning (FL) faces significant challenges in scenarios with non-IID (non-independent and identically distributed) data distributions across participating clients. Traditional aggregation-based approaches often struggle with the inherent misalignment between local and global optimization objectives, leadingwhich leads to gradient divergence and suboptimal generalization performance. This paper proposes a novel FL framework that replaces conventional aggregation with a biologically inspired model symbiosis approach called FedSym, which employs a dual-level symbiotic mechanism. Ectosymbiosis performs coarse-grained hierarchical parameter recombinations through random layer-wise model combination, while endosymbiosis enables fine-grained intra-layer parameter fusion through weighted averaging, collectively steering model updates towards flatter loss landscapes. Our theoretical analysis demonstrates that FedSym's convergence rate is O(1T) under non-IID conditions, which matches the convergence properties of FedAvg. Extensive experimentsevaluations across multiple datasets and model architectures show that FedSym achieves substantial improvements over state-of-the-art FL methods, particularly in challenging scenarios with high data heterogeneity, and demonstrates robust performance across varying numbers of participating clients and federation scales. © 2014 IEEE.

Hyperspectral super-resolution involves combining low-resolution hyperspectral images with high-resolution multispectral images to produce a high-resolution hyperspectral image. Recently, although many methods for hyperspectral image super-resolution have been proposed, they often fail to fully utilize the high similarity among adjacent bands to enhance fusion performance. Therefore, we propose a grouping strategy-based progressive fusion network (GPFNet) for hyperspectral super-resolution. The core of GPFNet is the grouping strategy fusion block (GPF block), in which grouping-based spatial-spectral information fusion and spatial information refinement are performed. We design the spatial-spectral information fusion module (SSIFM) based on grouped convolutions to capture the feature differences from adjacent bands. To refine spatial details, we develop the spatial information enhancement module (SpaEM), which leverages the hierarchical features extracted by the multi-scale feature extraction module (MIEM). Additionally, a progressive fusion strategy, which involves using multiple upsampled hyperspectral images and downsampled multispectral images, further preserves spectral integrity and spatial details. Extensive experiments show that GPFNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Intelligent physical systems, such as smart vehicles and robotic arms, are increasingly integrated into both industrial and everyday applications. However, the systems typically face hardware limitations that constrain their computational capacities. Digital twin systems offer a solution by creating real-time digital replicas of physical systems that enhance computational efficiency, overcoming physical limitations. Moreover, multiple digital twins that hold complementary knowledge can conveniently collaborate to share information and computational resources, further improving the performance of physical systems by forming an internet of Digital Twin (IoDT). This paper presents a comprehensive investigation of the digital twin network, tracing the evolution of digital twins and providing a classification of the key technologies, functional frameworks, and application domains of IoDT. This paper delves into the IoDT communication framework by studying the fundamental communication modes of IoDT, exploring its integration with advanced technologies such as edge computing, blockchain, 5G/6G networks, and machine learning to facilitate data transmission, interaction, and omni-directional sensing. By offering a broad perspective, the paper aims to deepen stakeholders' understanding of current research and potential future developments, encouraging further exploration of IoDT technologies and their evolution. © 1998-2012 IEEE.

Compact-yet-Separate: Proto-centric Multi-modal Hashing with Pronounced Category Differences for Multi-modal Retrieval

Multi-modal hashing achieves low storage costs and high retrieval speeds by using compact hash codes to represent complex and heterogeneous multi-modal data, effectively addressing the inefficiency and resource intensiveness challenges faced by the traditional multi-modal retrieval methods. However, balancing intraclass compactness and interclass separability remains a struggle in existing works due to coarse-grained feature limitations, simplified fusion strategies that overlook semantic complementarity, and neglect of the structural information within the multi-modal data. To address these limitations comprehensively, we propose a Proto-centric Multi-modal Hashing with Pronounced Category Differences (PMH-PCD) model. Specifically, PMH-PCD first learns modality-specific prototypes by deeply exploring within-modality class information, ensuring effective fusion of each modality's unique characteristics. Furthermore, it learns multi-modal integrated class prototypes that seamlessly incorporate semantic information across modalities to effectively capture and represent the intricate relationships and complementary semantic content embedded within the multi-modal data. Additionally, to generate more discriminative and representative binary hash codes, PMH-PCD integrates multifaceted semantic information, encompassing both low-level pairwise relations and high-level structural patterns, holistically capturing intricate data details and leveraging underlying structures. The experimental results demonstrate that, compared with existing advanced methods, PMH-PCD achieves superior and consistent performances in multi-modal retrieval tasks. © 1999-2012 IEEE.
