Traditional cloud computing models struggle to meet the requirements of latency-sensitive applications when processing large amounts of data. As a solution, Multi-access Edge computing (MEC) extends computing resources to the edge of the network to reduce processing delays and improve user experience. However, in dynamically changing edge computing environments, effective decision making on whether to offload tasks to edge servers remains a core challenge. For this purpose, we propose MRLATO, an adaptive task offloading mechanism based on Meta Reinforcement Learning (MRL), which exploits a large amount of a priori knowledge of different tasks to achieve fast adaptation. The task offloading process is modelled as multiple Markov Decision Processes (MDPs) and solved using a Sequence to Sequence (Seq2Seq) neural network integrating multi-head attention and recursive task sequencing. It is shown by the experimental results that the proposed method has the lowest latency in all experimental settings and the convergence efficiency is improved by 14.06% compared to the traditional Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) algorithm. This research fully demonstrates the significant benefits of the deep integration of MRL with the edge computing domain, providing new optimisation ideas for task offloading decisions. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

In medical intelligence applications, the labeling of medical data is crucial and expensive, so it becomes urgent to explore labeling-efficient ways to train applications. Semi-supervised techniques for medical image segmentation have demonstrated potential, effectively training models using scarce labeled data alongside a wealth of unlabeled data. Therefore, semi-supervised medical image segmentation is a key issue in engineering applications of medical intelligence. Consistency constraints based on prototype alignment provide an intuitively sensible way to discover valuable insights from unlabeled data that can motivate segmentation performance. In this work, we propose a Dual prototypes Contrastive Network to motivate semi-supervised medical segmentation accuracy by imposing image-level global prototype and pixel-level local prototype constraints. First, we introduce a Background-Separation Global Prototype Contrastive Learning technique that utilizes the natural mutual exclusivity of foreground and background to separate the inter-class distances and encourage the segmentation network to obtain segmentation results that are more complete and do not contain background regions. Second, we design a Cross-Consistent Local Prototype Contrastive Learning techniques to extend the perturbation consistency of the two networks to the prototype's localized response to the feature map, thereby shaping a more stable intra-class prototype space and producing accurate and robust pixel-level predictions. Finally, we comprehensively evaluate our method on mainstream semi-supervised medical image segmentation benchmarks and settings, and experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms current state-of-the-art methods. Specifically, our method achieves a Dice Coefficient score of 91.8 on the Automatic Cardiac Diagnosis Challenge dataset using only 10% labeled data training, 1.1% ahead of the second best method. Medication recommendation aims to suggest personalized drug combinations to patients based on their longitudinal medical histories stored in electronic health record (EHR) datasets. Patients' Dynamic Treatment Regimes (DTRs) determine how patients' drug combinations change along with the evolution of disease treatment. DTRs are effective for comprehending disease-treatment dynamics and for recommending a timely and personalized combination of medications for patients. However, existing medication recommender systems (MRSs) overlook the multiple treatment pathways generated by the intervention of DTRs and can only recommend a single treatment paradigm, ignoring the fact that patients may be at different treatment stages and thus require different treatment regime. Such disregard leads to a significant limitation in recommending personalized medication combinations tailored to different treatment stages, yielding greatly compromised accuracy and applicability of MRSs. Moreover, existing methods often overlook the time interval information over patients' successive visits, which is critical to indicate patients' treatment evolution. To address these significant gaps, we propose a Time-aware Medication Recommendation Framework via Intervention of Dynamic Treatment Regimes, called MR-DTR. To explicitly illustrate the intervention processes of DTRs on similar patients, we employ a co-guided graph to connect various patient sequences. In addition, to fully utilize the time interval information, we design a time-aware guidance mechanism dedicated to the co-guided graph to efficiently learn medication representation using the patient's guidance information. We also introduce relative time intervals in the encoder to act as positional information. Extensive experiments on two real-world datasets demonstrate that MR-DTR surpasses state-of-the-art models in terms of recommendation performance. Data-Free Knowledge Distillation (DFKD) enables knowledge transfer from teacher networks without access to the real dataset. However, generator-based DFKD methods often suffer from insufficient diversity or low-confidence in synthetic images, negatively impacting student network performance. This paper introduces DFMC, a generative feature-driven framework to mitigate the inherent limitations of DFKD. We propose exploiting semantic description between generative feature domains to guide augmentation strategies, avoiding random abstract inputs caused by inconsistent semantic quality. Then, by applying noise to the generative features, we produce contrastive learning pairs indirectly, limiting the sampling range of the feature domain to encourage the student network to learn domain-invariant features. Finally, we guide the student network to deeply mimic the teacher’s layer-wise implicit classification behavior for the augmented synthetic images. Extensive experiments across various datasets and downstream tasks demonstrate the effectiveness of DFMC, achieving significant improvements while preventing student networks from overfitting to semantic ambiguous images. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

In recent years, research has illuminated the potency of implicit data processing in enhancing user preferences. Nevertheless, barriers remain in breaking through the constraints of implicit information. This study aims to bridge this gap by firstly constructing a triangular stable node network model, tailored to manage implicit information with precision. Recognizing the challenge of pinpointing novel structures within large-scale graphs, we propose SLTSNN-a triangular stable node network based on self-supervised learning for personalized prediction. SLTSNN innovates by maximizing mutual information between graph-level and patch-level representations, while augmenting graph representations through extended enhanced representations. Additionally, it incorporates triangular data associations and introduces a triangular allocation attention network, which emphasizes strongly correlated preference features among similar users. Furthermore, SLTSNN employs contrastive learning to maximize mutual information between graph vectors and hidden representations, distinguishing between high-order global and local representations. The model's effectiveness in enhancing user preferences and capturing new graph structures is evidenced by its performance on hit rate and normalized discounted cumulative gain metrics across three datasets. © 2025 IEEE.

—Consumer electronics suffer from data surges which lead to data privacy and integrity issues. Federated Learning (FL) keeps data with local devices which enhances privacy, and efficient device collaboration by processing data locally without transmitting sensitive information to centralized servers. However, data heterogeneity within practical FL settings poses a formidable challenge, such as client model drift, significantly impacting the convergence speed of the global model and leading to a substantial communication overhead. To address these issues arising from data heterogeneity, we propose a novel FL framework based on latent dependency optimization with fuzzy-based client selection (FCS), named FedLaDO. Specifically, in the consumer electronic client-side training, we introduce two new loss regularizers: a positive latent dependency loss and a perceptive knowledge co-distillation loss. These regularizers are integrated into the client training objective function to enhance the client models’ reinforcement learning over its distinctive training data while preserving the global knowledge inherited from the prior global model. For consumer electronic server-side model aggregation, we propose an FCS mechanism to filter out underperforming and overperforming clients and introduce a novel inverse dependency aggregation algorithm to effectively integrate drifted client models. The efficacy of our approach is validated through extensive experiments on diverse real-world datasets, showcasing its superior performance in achieving higher model convergence accuracy compared to state-of-the-art FL baseline methods. © 2025 IEEE. Multi-view clustering (MvC) aims to integrate information from different views to enhance the capability of the model in capturing the underlying data structures. The widely used joint training paradigm in MvC is potentially not fully leverage the multi-view information, since the imbalanced and under-optimized view-specific features caused by the uniform learning objective for all views. For instance, particular views with more discriminative information could dominate the learning process in the joint training paradigm, leading to other views being under-optimized. To alleviate this issue, we first analyze the imbalanced phenomenon in the joint-training paradigm of multi-view clustering from the perspective of gradient descent for each view-specific feature extractor. Then, we propose a novel balanced multi-view clustering (BMvC) method, which introduces a view-specific contrastive regularization (VCR) to modulate the optimization of each view. Concretely, VCR preserves the sample similarities captured from the joint features and view-specific ones into the clustering distributions corresponding to view-specific features to enhance the learning process of view-specific feature extractors. Additionally, a theoretical analysis is provided to illustrate that VCR adaptively modulates the magnitudes of gradients for updating the parameters of view-specific feature extractors to achieve a balanced multi-view learning procedure. In such a manner, BMvC achieves a better trade-off between the exploitation of view-specific patterns and the exploration of view-invariance patterns to fully learn the multi-view information for the clustering task. Finally, a set of experiments are conducted to verify the superiority of the proposed method compared with state-of-the-art approaches on eight benchmark MvC datasets. The internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has achieved remote diagnosis and real-time health monitoring through intelligent sensor devices and internet of Things (IoT) technology, providing great convenience for analyzing medical conditions between doctors and patients. However, sensitive information such as patient medical data may face security challenges such as data leakage and abuse during transmission in the IoMT. To ensure the confidentiality and unforgeability of medical data transmission, scholars have proposed many cryptographic schemes. With the development of quantum computers, schemes based on traditional cryptographic primitives have become insecure. Existing cryptographic schemes for IoMT cannot simultaneously meet the security requirements of high communication performance, low computational overhead, and resistance to quantum attacks. Therefore, we propose an efficient module-lattice-based certificateless online/offline signcryption (MLCLOOSC) scheme resistant to quantum attacks while meeting the confidentiality and unforgeability requirements under Type I and Type II attacks. Compared with five recent CLOOSC schemes, theoretical analysis, and experimental test results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the other five schemes regarding computational and communication costs and security. Therefore, our scheme is more suitable for application in IoMT scenarios. © 2014 IEEE.

The internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly permeating all aspects of human life, involving a network of devices that share sensitive data. A notable application is the e-healthcare systems, which employ connected sensors, medical servers, and wearable devices. However, the public nature of communication in e-healthcare systems poses challenges such as security, privacy, and authentication of participating entities. Recently, many authentication protocols have been introduced to address these challenges. However, most of these protocols remain vulnerable to various security attacks, including device or medical server impersonation, denial of service, physical or cloning, and de-synchronization attacks. Therefore, we introduce an authenticated key-management protocol utilizing hash functions and Cipher-Block Chaining-Advanced Encryption Standard encryption (CBC-AES) encryption. The proposed protocol also employs the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF), which makes it more robust and efficient in resisting physical or cloning attacks. Additionally, the proposed scheme resists various security threats, including impersonation, session key leakage, ephemeral secret leakage, and de-synchronization attacks. We analyze the scheme’s security and reliability through formal and informal analysis. The informal analysis demonstrates that the scheme encompasses crucial security features, while the formal analysis substantiates. Moreover, performance analysis of the proposed protocol with various competing results indicates that our protocol achieves an average reduction in communication and computation overheads by 36.03.% and 41.79%, respectively. © 2014 IEEE.

Privacy-Preserving IoT Image Transmission: Multi-Stage SVD Data Embedding and Heatmap Alignment

The images transmitted by IoT devices, particularly those used for surveillance or sensor data, are vulnerable to malicious screenshots and unauthorized access, leading to potential privacy breaches. To address this, we propose a multi-stage Singular Value Decomposition (SVD)-based robust data-hiding scheme for JPEG images aimed at mitigating screenshot attacks. The method exploits the decorrelation properties of the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) to preprocess the carrier image, facilitating the selection of specific frequency coefficients. These coefficients undergo a dual-stage SVD transformation, where dimensionality reduction reduces the impact of noise from non-critical image regions. Additionally, we optimize Grad-CAM heatmap generation to better align with human visual perception, enabling the identification of stable and reliable feature regions for embedding secret information. This approach ensures that the visual integrity of the carrier image is maintained while preserving the legibility of the embedded information, even under *** method enhances both the visual fidelity of the carrier image and the robustness of the embedded information. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms existing methods, achieving at least a 5% improvement in confidential information extraction accuracy and a data extraction rate exceeding 95% across screenshot angles ranging from -40∘ to 40∘. Extensive evaluations confirm the superior performance, efficiency, and security of our method in mitigating screenshot attacks, showcasing its broad applicability to various image formats and resilience to distortions. © 2014 IEEE.
