For the detection of objects floating in the river, most of the traditional intelligent video monitoring methods are used to monitor through manual viewing. During the traditional video data transmission and processing, the massive amount of data will put pressure on the background such as network and computing power. The new effective method is to crop and optimize YOLOV5s, add a specific image pre-processing module, and deploy it by edge computing, embed a SOC (System on Chip) chip in the web camera for real-time processing of video data. Simulation experiments prove that the above method can improve the accuracy and speed of the target detection network. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Reference-Guided Large-Scale Face Inpainting with Identity and Texture Control

Face inpainting aims at plausibly predicting missing pixels of face images within a corrupted region. Most existing methods rely on generative models learning a face image distribution from a big dataset, which produces uncontrollable results, especially with large-scale missing regions. To introduce strong control for face inpainting, we propose a novel reference-guided face inpainting method that fills the large-scale missing region with identity and texture control guided by a reference face image. However, generating high-quality results under imposing two control signals is challenging. To tackle such difficulty, we propose a dual control one-stage framework that decouples the reference image into two levels for flexible control: High-level identity information and low-level texture information, where the identity information figures out the shape of the face and the texture information depicts the component-aware texture. To synthesize high-quality results, we design two novel modules referred to as Half-AdaIN and Component-Wise Style Injector (CWSI) to inject the two kinds of control information into the inpainting processing. Our method produces realistic results with identity and texture control faithful to reference images. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first work to concurrently apply identity and component-level controls in face inpainting to promise more precise and controllable results. Pre-trained models for natural language processing: A survey

Recently, the emergence of pre-trained models(PTMs) has brought natural language processing(NLP) to a new era. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive review of PTMs for NLP. We first briefly introduce language representation learning and its research progress. Then we systematically categorize existing PTMs based on a taxonomy from four different perspectives. Next,we describe how to adapt the knowledge of PTMs to downstream tasks. Finally, we outline some potential directions of PTMs for future research. This survey is purposed to be a hands-on guide for understanding, using, and developing PTMs for various NLP tasks.

Ordinal distribution regression for gait-based age estimation

computer vision researchers prefer to estimate age from face images because facial features provide useful information. However, estimating age from face images becomes challenging when people are distant from the camera or occluded. A person’s gait is a unique biometric feature that can be perceived efficiently even at a distance. Thus, gait can be used to predict age when face images are not ***, existing gait-based classification or regression methods ignore the ordinal relationship of different ages, which is an important clue for age estimation. This paper proposes an ordinal distribution regression with a global and local convolutional neural network for gait-based age estimation. Specifically, we decompose gait-based age regression into a series of binary classifications to incorporate the ordinal age ***, an ordinal distribution loss is proposed to consider the inner relationships among these classifications by penalizing the distribution discrepancy between the estimated value and the ground truth. In addition,our neural network comprises a global and three local sub-networks, and thus, is capable of learning the global structure and local details from the head, body, and feet. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach outperforms state-of-the-art gait-based age estimation methods on the OULP-Age dataset.

This paper studies the recognition of oracle character, the earliest known hieroglyphs in China. Essentially, oracle character recognition suffers from the problem of data limitation and imbalance. Recognizing the oracle characters of extremely limited samples, naturally, should be taken as the few-shot learning task. Different from the standard few-shot learning setting, our model has only access to large-scale unlabeled source Chinese characters and few labeled oracle characters. In such a setting, meta-based or metric-based few-shot methods are failed to be efficiently trained on source unlabeled data;and thus the only possible methodologies are self-supervised learning and data augmentation. Unfortunately, the conventional geometric augmentation always performs the same global transformations to all samples in pixel format, without considering the diversity of each part within a sample. Moreover, to the best of our knowledge, there is no effective self-supervised learning method for few-shot learning. To this end, this paper integrates the idea of self-supervised learning in data augmentation. And we propose a novel data augmentation approach, named Orc-Bert Augmentor pre-trained by self-supervised learning, for few-shot oracle character recognition. Specifically, Orc-Bert Augmentor leverages a self-supervised BERT model pre-trained on large unlabeled Chinese characters datasets to generate sample-wise augmented samples. Given a masked input in vector format, Orc-Bert Augmentor can recover it and then output a pixel format image as augmented data. Different mask proportion brings diverse reconstructed output. Concatenated with Gaussian noise, the model further performs point-wise displacement to improve diversity. Experimentally, we collect two large-scale datasets of oracle characters and other Chinese ancient characters for few-shot oracle character recognition and Orc-Bert Augmentor pre-training. Multi-contrast high quality high-resolution (HR) Magnetic Resonance (MR) images enrich available information for diagnosis and analysis. Deep convolutional neural network methods have shown promising ability for MR image super-resolution (SR) given low-resolution (LR) MR images. Methods taking HR images as references (Ref) have made progress to enhance the effect of MR images SR. However, existing multi-contrast MR image SR approaches are based on contrasting-expanding backbones, which lose high frequency information of Ref image during downsampling. They also failed to transfer textures of Ref image into target domain. In this paper, we propose Edge Mask Transformer UNet (EMFU) for accelerating MR images SR. We propose Edge Mask Transformer (EMF) to generate global details and texture representation of target domain. Dual domain fusion module in UNet aggregates semantic information of the representation and LR image of target domain. Specifically, we extract and encode edge masks to guide the attention in EMF by re-distributing the embedding tensors, so that the network allocates more attention to image edge area. We also design a dual domain fusion module with self-attention and cross-attention to deeply fuse semantic information of multiple protocols for MRI. Extensive experiments show the effectiveness of our proposed EMFU, which surpasses state-of-the-art methods on benchmarks quantitatively and visually. Social recommendation utilizing social relations as auxiliary information can alleviate data sparsity issues of collaborative filtering methods. However, existing social recommendation methods usually focus on the shallow relations of user-item interactions and social networks to mine potential user preferences, which fail to provide a fine-grained consideration of the inhomogeneous influence and the changes in user interest or item attractiveness over time in high-order interactions of multiple relation types. To address these issues, we propose a novel method named Dynamic Social Recommendation with High-matching Inhomogeneous Relations (DSRHIR) to reveal the influence of inhomogeneity in dynamic interactions on social recommendation from multiple perspectives. Specifically, we first model the short-term dynamic and long-term static representations of both users with social relations and similar relations, and items with correlations. Then, we combine their dynamic and static representations during the interaction and the information from the high-order neighbors of these three relations to obtain a graph-augmented representation. Finally, the graph-augmented representation is used to modulate high-matching user interest and item attractiveness. Extensive experiments on two real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of DSRHIR. © 2023 IEEE.

MOSMOS: Multi-organ segmentation facilitated by medical report supervision

Owing to a large amount of multi-modal data in modern medical systems, such as medical images and reports, Medical Vision-Language Pre-training (Med-VLP) has demonstrated incredible achievements in coarse-grained downstream tasks (i.e., medical classification, retrieval, and visual question answering). However, the problem of transferring knowledge learned from Med-VLP to fine-grained multi-organ segmentation tasks has barely been investigated. Multi-organ segmentation is challenging mainly due to the lack of large-scale fully annotated datasets and the wide variation in the shape and size of the same organ between individuals with different diseases. In this paper, we propose a novel pre-training & fine-tuning framework for Multi-Organ Segmentation by harnessing Medical repOrt Supervision (MOSMOS). Specifically, we first introduce global contrastive learning to maximally align the medical image-report pairs in the pre-training stage. To remedy the granularity discrepancy, we further leverage multi-label recognition to implicitly learn the semantic correspondence between image pixels and organ tags. More importantly, our pre-trained models can be transferred to any segmentation model by introducing the pixel-tag attention maps. Different network settings, i.e., 2D U-Net and 3D UNETR, are utilized to validate the generalization. We have extensively evaluated our approach using different diseases and modalities on BTCV, AMOS, MMWHS, and BRATS datasets. Experimental results in various settings demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework. This framework can serve as the foundation to facilitate future research on automatic annotation tasks under the supervision of medical reports. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Chinese national pentatonic modes, with five tones of Gong, Shang, Jue, Zhi and Yu as the core, play an essential role in traditional Chinese music culture. After the early twentieth century, with the development of new Chinese music, the ancient Chinese theory of scales gradually developed into a new pentatonic modes theory under the influence of western music. In this paper, we briefly introduce our self-built CNPM (Chinese National Pentatonic Modes) Dataset, then design residual convolutional neural network models to identify which TongGong system the mode belongs, the pitch of tonic, the mode pattern and the mode type from audio signals, in combination with musical domain knowledge. We use both single-task and multi-task models with three strategies for identification, and compare them with a simple template-based baseline method. In experiments, we use seven accuracy metrics to evaluate the models. The results on identifying both the tonic pitch and the pattern of mode correctly achieve an average accuracy of 69.65%. As an initial research on automatic Chinese national pentatonic modes recognition, this work will contribute to the development of multicultural music information retrieval, computational ethnomusicology and five-tone music therapy. © Z. In the field of open-set recognition, conventional models often focus on addressing challenges within a single hierarchical category, and these methods frequently lack inter-pretability. In this paper, we propose a novel solution that utilizes attributes and hierarchical relationships to achieve interpretable open-set recognition. Our method is centered around the visual-semantic attribute space. By leveraging hierarchy division, we can decompose the attributes into more granular components, thereby yielding additional performance improvements. When confronted with an unfamiliar object, our method not only classifies it as an unknown category but also provides insights into the broader category and its associated attributes. This capability enhances interpretability by offering valuable information regarding the potential category and characteristics of the object. Experimental results demonstrate great performance improvements compared to existing methods.
