With a growing complexity of the intelligent traffic system (ITS), an integrated control of ITS that is capable of considering plentiful heterogeneous intelligent agents is desired. However, existing control methods based on the centralized or the decentralized scheme have not presented their competencies in considering the optimality and the scalability simultaneously. To address this issue, we propose an integrated control method based on the framework of Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The proposed method achieves a global consensus on energy consumption efficiency (ECE), meanwhile to optimize the local objectives of all involved intelligent agents, through a consensus and incentive mechanism. Furthermore, an operation algorithm is proposed regarding the issue of structural rigidity in DAO. Specifically, the proposed operation approach identifies critical agents to execute the smart contract in DAO, which ultimately extends the capability of DAO-based control. In addition, a numerical experiment is designed to examine the performance of the proposed method. The experiment results indicate that the controlled agents can achieve a consensus faster on the global objective with improved local objectives by the proposed method, compare to existing decentralized control methods. Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in ***,cardiotoxicity is one of the most important adverse effects assessed by arrhythmia recognition in drug ***,cell-based techniques developed for arhythmia recognition primarily employ linear methods such as time-domain analysis that detect and compare individual waveforms and thus fall short in some applications that require automated and efficient arrhythmia recognition from large *** carried out the frst report to develop a biosensing system that integrated impedance measurement and multiparameter nonlinear dynamic algorithm(MNDA)analysis for druginduced arrhythmia recognition and *** biosensing system cultured cardiomyocytes as physiologically relevant models,used interdigitated electrodes to detect the mechanical beating of the cardiomyocytes,and employed MNDA analysis to recognize drug-induced arrhythmia from the cardiomyocyte beating *** best performing MNDA parameter,approximate entropy,enabled the system to recognize the appearance of sertindoleand norepinephrine-induced arrhythmia in the *** MNDA reconstruction in phase space enabled the system to classify the different arrhythmias and quantify the severity of *** new biosensing system utilizing MNDA provides a promising and alternative method for drug-induced arrhythmia recognition and classification in cardiological and pharmaceutical applications.

Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) as a main part of the Internet congestion control was originally designed with a single queue in mind. But, nowadays data centers industry trends to have multiple queues per-port in its switches. This type of mismatch can affect the scheduling schemes and hence leads to remarkable performance degradation in multi-queue switches. For instance, when some of the queue buffers of the switch exceed the considered thresholds, all the packets belonging to the same shared port could get ECN mark. To cope with this challenge, we propose Priority-ECN, a first systematic solution to this problem. The first intuition of Priority-ECN lies in the fact that if any packet gets marked, it should be prioritized to pass a route quicker than the others to notify the condition of the network in an early stage. This presents a full view of instantaneous demand from all senders. The second intuition is that if any packet gets marked in the queue buffer, Priority-ECN will not consider them in the marking decision again in the output port buffer. The third intuition is to reach the goal of high throughput without sacrificing the latency. So, we use an approach similar to Cut Payload (CP), which drops the payloads of packets, rather than the metadata, when a queue reaches the threshold. We do so through dual couple buffer in output port and catch the advantage of CP to implement an efficient scheme to obtains near optimal flow completion times across different flow sizes with very low latency.

Plenty of previous researches focus on crowdsourcing task recommendation to protect data quality and raise task execution efficiency. However, in real life, most crowdsourcing platforms do not allow duplicate task executions due to the budget constraints, and the recommendations are usually made towards new tasks without prior knowledge due to short task lifespan. Therefore, most previous works are noy applicable due to improper assumptions. In this paper, we propose Pioneer-Assisted Task RecommendatiON (PATRON) framework to generate accurate recommendations without analyzing the tasks’ contents. We select a set of pioneer workers to collect initial knowledge of the new tasks, and adopt the k-medoids clustering algorithm to split the workers into subsets based on the worker similarity. Cluster selection and worker pruning provides accurate and efficient recommendations that satisfies the valid recommendation requirements from requesters. Evaluations conducted based on real datasets collected from Tencent SOHO show the efficiency of our proposed framework on recommendation acceptance rate and recommended worker quality. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Software-Defined Networks make it more principled and formal to operate and verify networks, which decouple the control plane and the data plane and introduce flexibility and programmability into the network. The SDN control plane needs to frequently update the data plane. However, the decoupled control and data planes face new challenges. The network is still an asynchronous distributed system in rule updates. If the update operations are not carefully scheduled, it may result in blackhole, congestions, and violate the consistency properties. Motivated by the tightly synchronized SDNs, we proposed TIDERS Algorithm for consistent network updates in 'timed SDNs'-where one node update can be scheduled at specific time. In TIDERS, we use synchronized time technique to achieve fast network updates while guaranteeing consistency properties. We focus on congestion-free in scheduling the update operations. To achieve this, we first set up a flow-based dependency graph and transform it into switch-operation level dependency graph. Based on operation dependency graph, we generate an update schedule and gradually optimize it to finally get a fast update schedule. After that, we conduct a series of simulations comparing our approach with several other methods to evaluate it. © 2019 IEEE.

Transistor engineering based on 2D materials in the post-silicon era

The miniaturization of metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) has been the driving force behind the development of integrated circuits over the past 60 years; however, owing to short channel effect, reducing the gate length of MOSFETs to sub-10 nm represents a fundamental challenge. Two-dimensional materials (2DMs) with atomic scale thicknesses and non-dangling bonds interface enable sub-10 nm scale length, making them suitable candidates for advanced tech nodes beyond sub-3 nm. Although the performance metrics of a single 2DMs transistor have equalled or surpassed those of silicon, leaving no doubt about the potential of 2DMs at the laboratory level, the way of moving 2DMs from ‘lab to fab’ remains unclear. In this Review, we analyse the similarities and differences between 2DMs MOSFETs and silicon MOSFETs in the integrated circuits engineering process; we present potential solutions for channel, contact and dielectric engineering using 2DM to address the scaling challenges faced by a silicon-based device at the advanced tech node. Finally, we summarize the challenges in translating the performance of individual 2DMs devices into large-scale integrated circuits, including large-scale and stable transfer technology, high-quality material synthesis with controllable layers. Once these technical issues are properly solved, 2DMs can take full advantage of their properties at a farther scaling.

Recently, mobile crowdsensing has become a promising paradigm to collect rich spatial sensing data, by taking advantage of widely distributed sensing devices like smartphones. Based on sensing data, event detection can be conducted in urban areas, to monitor abnormal incidents like traffic jam. However, how to guarantee the detection accuracy is still an open issue, especially when unreliable users who may report wrong observations are considered. In this work, we focus on the problem of user recruitment in collaborative mobile crowdsensing, aiming to optimize the fine-grained detection accuracy in a large urban area. Unfortunately, the problem is proved to be NP-hard, which means there is no polynomial-time algorithm to achieve the optimal solution unless P NP. To meet the challenge, we first employ a probabilistic model to characterize the unreliability of users, and measure the uncertainty of inferring event occurrences given collected observations by Shannon entropy. Then, by leveraging the properties of adaptive monotonicity and adaptive submodularity, we propose an adaptive greedy algorithm for user recruitment, which is theoretically proved to achieve a constant approximation ratio guarantee. Extensive simulations are conducted, which show our proposed algorithm outperforms baselines under different settings. © 2019, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Buck DC-DC circuits are widely used in design of server PCB power supply, due to its fast switching voltage speed, the generation of phase noise is unavoidable, therefore, in order to design a stable system, it is important to extract the phase waveform and predict the phase coupling noise This paper presents a method for extracting phase waveforms and evaluating phase-coupled noise before the PCB Gerber Out. Methods as below (i) Construct a buck circuit simulation model, including voltage controller, MOSFET, PCB parasitics and capacitor RLC equivalent model for extracting phase waveform, and (ii) Combine phase waveform models, MOSFET models and PCB layout and simulation tools to simulate phase-coupled noise. Finally, the effectiveness and practicability of the evaluation method are verified by comparing the simulation results with the actual test results. © 2019 IEEE.

GoSum: Extractive Summarization of Long Documents by Reinforcement Learning and Graph Organized discourse state

Extracting summaries from long documents can be regarded as sentence classification using the structural information of the documents. How to use such structural information to summarize a document is challenging. In this paper, we propose GoSum, a novel graph and reinforcement learning based extractive model for long-paper summarization. In particular, GoSum encodes sentence states in reinforcement learning by building a heterogeneous graph for each input document at different discourse levels. An edge in the graph reflects the discourse hierarchy of a document for restraining the semantic drifts across section boundaries. We evaluate GoSum on two datasets of scientific articles summarization: PubMed and arXiv. The experimental results have demonstrated that GoSum achieve state-of-the-art results compared with strong baselines of both extractive and abstractive models. The ablation studies further validate that the performance of our GoSum benefits from the use of discourse information. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
