Over the last 50 years,the explosive adoption of modern agricultural practices has led to an enormous increase in the emission of non-biodegradable and highly biotoxic ions into the *** intake of such ions,even essential trace elements such as Cu^(2+)and F^(-),can have serious consequences on human ***,to ensure safe drinking water and regulate wastewater discharge,photoelectrochemical(PEC)online sensors were developed,with advantages such as low energy consumption,inherent miniaturization,simple instrumentation,and fast ***,there is no publicly available systematic review of the recent advances in PEC ion sensors available in the literature since January ***,this review covers the various strategies that have been used to enhance the sensitivity,selectivity,and limit of detection for PEC ion *** photoelectrochemically active materials,conductive substrates,electronic transfer,and performance of various PEC sensors are discussed in detail and divided into sections based on the measurement principle and detected ion *** conclude this review by highlighting the challenges and potential future avenues of research associated with the development of novel high-performance PEC sensors.

To reveal the intrinsic properties of the basic superconducting units,i.e.,the single layered FeSe/FeAs in iron-based superconductors or CuO_(2) planes in cuprate superconductors,is a necessary prerequisite for understanding the mechanism of high-Tc *** to now,an isolated FeAs layer has rarely been studied due to the difficulty in materials ***,we report a scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy(STM/STS)study on the iron-based superconductor KCa_(2)Fe_(4)As_(4)F_(2).In situ cleavage produced a single FeAs layer covered by a reconstructed K surface,which is isolated from the bulk by the underlying CaF layer and shows multi-band superconductivity with a much lower T_(c) than its bulk *** the exposed As-terminated regions with coverage of scattered K atoms,a pseudogap was observed,leading to an inhomogeneous superconductivity without long-range phase coherence in real space,which is remarkably similar to the high-T_(c) cuprate *** results provide a new perspective to understanding the origin of superconductivity in iron-based superconductors.

To mitigate the high separation costs associated with conventional neutral/alkaline electrocatalysis for CO2 reduction reactions (CO2RR), acidic CO2RR offers economic advantages and improved efficiency in CO2 utilization. However, it typically involves the cleavage of M−H bonds at a relatively negative potential, leading to the predominant formation of H2 and poor HCOOH selectivity. Herein, we develop a facile solid-phase thermal diffusion approach to controllably synthesize a novel metalloid-metal single atom alloys (m-SAAs) electrocatalyst Te1Bi with unique metalloid antagonistic sites, thus enabling high-efficient acidic CO2-to-HCOOH conversion. Electrochemical test and operando synchrotron radiation multi-techniques (SRMS) characterization reveal that metalloid Te sites bring steric hindrance effect and blocks *H coupling. Furthermore, it actively adsorbs OH− species as a proton source, allowing for effective separation of protons and electrons in space. Thus, leading to enhanced hydrogenation in acidic CO2RR to produce HCOOH. The flow cell test results demonstrate that the carefully designed Te1Bi catalyst exhibits a milder reaction potential, along with higher HCOOH Faraday efficiency (∼94.5 %) and single-pass carbon efficiency (SPCE, ∼40 %) in acidic media. This work significantly expands the family of SAAs and offers a novel perspective to analyze the regulation of competitive reactions through site-specific modifications for industrial acidic CO2RR. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

In order to address the challenges of insufficient sensitivity and specificity, sample diversity, and unbalanced distribution of electronic noses(E-nose), this study proposes an innovative approach that integrates pyramid pooling and one encoder utilizing self-attention mechanisms for analyzing response data of E-nose. Pyramid pooling aggregates features across scales to capture multi-level global information, while a single encoder with self-attention mechanisms captures feature relationships. To enhance interpretability in deep learning models, SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis tools are used to clarify model explanations, aiding in understanding prediction logic and feature contributions. Through 3-fold cross-validation, the model achieved 92.31% accuracy, 94.84% precision, and 93.95% recall. This study provides an insightful approach to the implementation of E-nose systems for respiratory disease diagnosis.

Moss can cause significant damages to stone artifacts. In order to effectively protect stone artifacts, it is crucial to accurately obtain information about the moss growth on the surface of the stone artifacts. In response to the laborious and inefficient process of manually detecting moss coverage on stone artifacts, this paper introduces an enhanced semantic segmentation model that integrates Swin Transformer and convolutional neural networks to accurately detect the moss coverage and growth rate. Through a comparison with current state-of-the-art models, our model outperforms them by the average intersection over union on the LoveDA and moss datasets, reaching a result of 94.79%. on the moss dataset. This indicates that our model can accurately segment rocks and moss, and thus enabling the effective calculation of moss coverage and growth rate on stone artifacts and providing vital support for their preventive protection. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. To obtain in situ real-time information on temperature and micro-strain changes in the body of stone cultural relics during chemical corrosion damage, a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) detection system was prepared. A theoretical model of the sensor to monitor the temperature and micro-strain was established. The temperature and micro-strain changes of the sandstone samples under deionized water with alkaline solutions and temperatures were examined online in-situ using the FBG measurement system. The results show that the material conversion exothermic chemical reaction between sandstone and NaOH solution and the reaction with deionization are dissolution reactions. © 2024 SPIE. FBG is used to construct pH and strain fiber optic sensors to realize online detection of oxalic acid corrosion process of sandstone artifacts. The pH fiber optic sensor uses a PVA/PAA hydrogel as the sensitive material and the fiber optic is held in a half-open PTFE tube by a UV adhesive. The de-coated FBG is fixed to the surface of the relics with epoxy resin to detect strain in the relics. The research results of this paper will provide an important reference for analyzing the acid dissolution corrosion mechanism of stone cultural relics and preventive protection of cultural relics, and promote the scientific and technological development and engineering application of physicochemical FBG sensors. © 2024 SPIE. This paper investigates using multiple active infrared thermography (AIT) to detect internal defects in silicone rubber-epoxy bonded composite materials. key modules and thermal wave features in AIT were examined, leading to an optimized configuration scheme. Initially, a thermal response model under multimodal photothermal excitation and various feature extraction algorithms were developed. Subsequently, for single frequency (SF) and step heating excitations, the effects of modulation frequency and excitation time on feature imaging results were analyzed, leading to the proposal of optimal configuration choices. Following that, a comparative study on the imaging effects of linear and logarithmic frequency modulation signals across different frequency bands was conducted. Lastly, a comparative analysis and theoretical examination of the optimal modulation methods among different thermal excitation modulations were performed. The results reveal that the SF thermal excitation modulation method, matching the defect depth's thermal wave frequency, provides the best detection performance. © 2024, The Authors. Reducing carbon emissions is a global priority due to human impact on atmospheric pollution and the greenhouse effect. Achieving carbon peak and neutrality requires real-time monitoring of CO2 concentrations. However, developing high-sensitivity, portable, and anti-jamming gas detection solutions is challenging. Among spectroscopic techniques, Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) is highly sensitive for detecting CO2 concentrations. This paper elaborates on the principles of TDLAS for detecting CO2 concentrations and proposes a noise reduction algorithmto meet diverse environmental requirements. Simulations were performed using software to simulate CO2 absorption spectra at approximately 1.57866535μm under high-intensity noise (0.1mW - 1mW). Based on this simulation, we applied the Wavelength Modulation Spectroscopy (WMS) technique to calculate the ratio of the output differential signal's second harmonic intensity to the first harmonic S2f/1f(T) and output power to reduce light intensity influence and improve concentration inversion linearity. The weighted convolutional moving average filtering was utilized to optimize WMS denoising, utilizing weight transfer to make the process more precise and reliable. After analyzing various window functions, it was concluded that a window length of 9 would be the most optimal. The algorithm improved the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by 22.435% under these conditions. When the noise level increased fourfold from the original signal, the algorithm enhanced the SNR by 59.514%, enabling reliable CO2 monitoring even under challenging conditions. © 2023 SPIE.
