Virtual machine consolidation (VMC) is an important issue in cloud computing, which can be used to reduce power consumption and achieve reasonable resource allocation. In this paper, an IMBBO algorithm is proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization problem of VMC through improving the classical Biogeography-Based Optimization (BBO). An improved Cosine migration model and an improved mutation model are presented to increase the efficiency of achieving the optimal solution. Meanwhile, three optimization objectives for server power consumption, load balancing and migration resource overhead are mainly addressed. Finally, several experiments are done to evaluate the performance of IMBBO by comparing with Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA) based on the synthetic and real VM running data. The results show that the IMBBO optimizes VM consolidation with higher efficiency. Copyright © 2016 by KSI Research Inc. and Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School.

As wireless communication and mobile devicesadvances, recommendation system is one of the keytechnologies to realize personalized service. This paperproposes a service recommendation mechanism using aprobabilistic model in mobile devices. With the contextualinformation and the use's demand state inferred by the model, we can recommend a service to meet the user's preferencesand needs at real time. Finally, the model checking method is used to verify the reliability of the service composition recommended by the above method. © 2016 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a method to model and analyze cost-aware fault tolerant strategy for cloud computing. First, Petri nets are used to describe the structure of cloud computing, including component, cloud service and cloud appli- cation, thus forming the fault tolerant model of cloud computing. Second, a dynamic fault tolerant strategy is proposed, which can dynamically make fault tolerant strategy with the lowest cost based on the current state and failed component. Third, we present operational semantics and related theories of Petri nets for establishing the correctness of our proposed method. We have also performed a series of simulations to evaluate our proposed approach. Results show that it can help reveal the structural and behavioral characteristics of cloud computing, and reduce the fault tolerant cost.

Video transcoding has become a key technology for video content distribution network service. In this paper, we propose a novel MapReduce-based parallel video transcoding method. In our method, video files are stored on a shared file system to reduce the overhead of disks I/O and networks in the Hadoop MapReduce. FFmpeg is used to compute the splitting point of the video and the actual video transcoding. Experimental results show that our method can significantly reduce the time of transcoding.

This paper briefly analyzes the security mechanism of android platform and describes permission statement and request of android application. According to android permission mechanism and its shortcoming, the android privilege escalation detection technology and attacking principle is mainly analyzed, and privilege escalation attacking model and architecture of application is put forward. Penetration testing tool Drozer is used to detect application permission. Application package and Manifest file is analyzed to obtain privilege elevation vulnerability. At the same time, sensitive combination permission is distinguished to avoid and exclude the use of malicious code.

With the rapid development of SOA technology, the instability of the distributed Web services has become a hot research topic. The survivability of Web system at a certain period of time is an important and useful indicator for making an appropriate adjustment dynamically to ensure the system runs best while the runtime environment or requirements are changed. However, most researchers only focus on estimating the overall survivability of Web system. The overall survivability cannot reflect the QoS of Web system under different usage patterns actually. In this paper, we propose an approach based on Web log statistic to predict the particular survivability of Web system under a particular usage pattern.

Test case prioritization technique aims to improve test efficiency rate by sorting test cases according to some specific criteria. Requirements play an important role throughout software testing. This paper proposes a test case prioritization method based on requirement correlations. Prioritization of requirements is defined by the users and the developers. This technique focuses on requirements with detected faults after the last regression testing. By readjusting prioritization of fault-related requirements, it can optimize the order of test cases. Experimental results show that this technique exactly contributes to achieving high testing efficiency.

The squat is a type of rolling contact fatigue(RCF) damage,the existence of squats directly impacts the operating condition of urban rail *** current detection methods of the rail squats damage are mainly based on track inspection car and rail flaw *** has some disadvantages,for example,long detection cycle,no real-time detecting and narrow scope,time consuming and *** this paper,a new detection method of squats which based on the in-service vehicles is *** bogie acceleration signal is used to detect the squats on the *** validate the possibility of the proposed *** the help of SIMPACK software,an in-service vehicle-track dynamic model and models of typical squats are built to generate the simulated bogie acceleration signals when the train wheels rolls over the *** simulation signals from the normal rail and the rail with squats are studied by HHT,it is found that0～50Hz and 300 Hz are the feature frequency caused by the squats damages.A unique W-shaped natural vibration mode is decomposed from the acceleration signals which is the feature vibration mode of the squat ***,the above detection method is applied to the field test data of shanghai metro line *** feasibility and reliability of the proposed method are *** proposed method provides an alternative for real application.

This paper focuses on the problem of detecting driver's changing lane, and gives a state machine model to analyze driving behavior. Firstly, three-axis accelerated velocity sensor is used to gather data, and then smoothing filtering method is made to process data. Secondly, a change rate of accelerated velocity is computed by using linear regression method, and vehicle's turning range and acceleration\deceleration are analyzed. Thirdly, vehicle's running state is fuzzily processed and a state machine is built to detect vehicle running. Experimental results show that the state model could correctly detect driver's driving behavior and send warning signals.

Indoor Location information service (ILS) has been the hot topics of research in recent years. However, localization cost and positioning accuracy is still a challenge for indoor positioning system (IPS). RFID positioning technology is low cost but high positioning accuracy which is usually used for an IPS. In this study, a RFID indoor positioning algorithm is proposed, which is based on the Particle Swarm Optimization Artificial Neural Network (PSO-ANN). The algorithm uses PSO to optimize the weight and threshold of ANN network, and establish an accurate classification model that can learn the relationship between the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) and tag position. In addition, in order to reduce the impact of the environmental factors on the position estimation effectively, the Gaussian Filter is adopted to process the RSSI information. The experimental result demonstrates that the proposed algorithm has better performance than other artificial neural network.
