Using Clustering algorithm to improve the effectiveness of test case prioritization has been well recognized by many researchers. software fault prediction has been one of the active parts of software engineering, but to date, there are few test cases prioritization technique using fault prediction. We conjecture that if the code has a fault-proneness, the test cases covering the code will find fault with higher probability. In addition, most of the existing test cases prioritization techniques using clustering algorithm don't consider the number of clusters. Thus, in this paper, we design a test case prioritization based on clustering approach combining fault prediction. We consider the method to obtain the best number of clusters and the clustering prioritization based on the results of fault prediction. To investigate the effectiveness of our approach, we perform an empirical study using an object which contains test cases and faults. The experiment results indicate that our techniques can improve the effectiveness of test case prioritization.

software testing has become an essential activity to guarantee software quality. To reduce the overall cost of software testing, model-based testing has been widely studied in the past two decades and Finite State Machine (FSM) is used to build the model of software behaviors. However, due to the inadequacy of the modeling ability of FSM, FSM-based testing cannot be taken as a test oracle to solve all issues in software testing. To improve the modeling capability of the model, a few researchers have proposed using Extended Regular Expressions (ERE) to model software behaviors. This paper reviews the method of the ERE-based testing and presents six modeling rules to convert program codes to the ERE model. Then, a case is adopted to illustrate the process of generating executable paths from the ERE model and the method of designing test cases by those paths. Compared with the traditional graphic traversal method of constructing executable paths from the program, ERE not only has robust modeling capability to describe more types of software behaviors than FSM, but also can be used to construct effective executable paths to detect program errors.

Tabular expressions, also called tables, are formal notations using tables to organize mathematical functions and relations. They have been widely used in documenting and analyzing software specification. Different tools are developed to support tabular expressions. To further enhance tables’ usage, a convention on storing and parsing tables is required. This paper presents a canonical interchange format for tabular expressions based on XML. This format captures four aspects of tables: the constituent, dynamic, representation and additional information. Our proposal builds on syntax definition of tables and is tailored to provide flexibility in manipulation of table content. It is suitable for existing and emerging kinds of tables. This study facilitates the interchange between different tools for tabular expressions, which would prevent developer’s repetitive work. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

Virtual machine consolidation (VMC) is an important issue in cloud computing, which can be used to reduce power consumption and achieve reasonable resource allocation. In this paper, an IMBBO algorithm is proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization problem of VMC through improving the classical Biogeography-Based Optimization (BBO). An improved Cosine migration model and an improved mutation model are presented to increase the efficiency of achieving the optimal solution. Meanwhile, three optimization objectives for server power consumption, load balancing and migration resource overhead are mainly addressed. Finally, several experiments are done to evaluate the performance of IMBBO by comparing with Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA) based on the synthetic and real VM running data. The results show that the IMBBO optimizes VM consolidation with higher efficiency. Copyright © 2016 by KSI Research Inc. and Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School.

As wireless communication and mobile devicesadvances, recommendation system is one of the keytechnologies to realize personalized service. This paperproposes a service recommendation mechanism using aprobabilistic model in mobile devices. With the contextualinformation and the use's demand state inferred by the model, we can recommend a service to meet the user's preferencesand needs at real time. Finally, the model checking method is used to verify the reliability of the service composition recommended by the above method. © 2016 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a method to model and analyze cost-aware fault tolerant strategy for cloud computing. First, Petri nets are used to describe the structure of cloud computing, including component, cloud service and cloud appli- cation, thus forming the fault tolerant model of cloud computing. Second, a dynamic fault tolerant strategy is proposed, which can dynamically make fault tolerant strategy with the lowest cost based on the current state and failed component. Third, we present operational semantics and related theories of Petri nets for establishing the correctness of our proposed method. We have also performed a series of simulations to evaluate our proposed approach. Results show that it can help reveal the structural and behavioral characteristics of cloud computing, and reduce the fault tolerant cost.

Video transcoding has become a key technology for video content distribution network service. In this paper, we propose a novel MapReduce-based parallel video transcoding method. In our method, video files are stored on a shared file system to reduce the overhead of disks I/O and networks in the Hadoop MapReduce. FFmpeg is used to compute the splitting point of the video and the actual video transcoding. Experimental results show that our method can significantly reduce the time of transcoding.

This paper briefly analyzes the security mechanism of android platform and describes permission statement and request of android application. According to android permission mechanism and its shortcoming, the android privilege escalation detection technology and attacking principle is mainly analyzed, and privilege escalation attacking model and architecture of application is put forward. Penetration testing tool Drozer is used to detect application permission. Application package and Manifest file is analyzed to obtain privilege elevation vulnerability. At the same time, sensitive combination permission is distinguished to avoid and exclude the use of malicious code.

With the rapid development of SOA technology, the instability of the distributed Web services has become a hot research topic. The survivability of Web system at a certain period of time is an important and useful indicator for making an appropriate adjustment dynamically to ensure the system runs best while the runtime environment or requirements are changed. However, most researchers only focus on estimating the overall survivability of Web system. The overall survivability cannot reflect the QoS of Web system under different usage patterns actually. In this paper, we propose an approach based on Web log statistic to predict the particular survivability of Web system under a particular usage pattern.

Test case prioritization technique aims to improve test efficiency rate by sorting test cases according to some specific criteria. Requirements play an important role throughout software testing. This paper proposes a test case prioritization method based on requirement correlations. Prioritization of requirements is defined by the users and the developers. This technique focuses on requirements with detected faults after the last regression testing. By readjusting prioritization of fault-related requirements, it can optimize the order of test cases. Experimental results show that this technique exactly contributes to achieving high testing efficiency.
