Abstract A high gain integral dynamic compensation method for a missile pitch motion autopilot design is proposed. The external disturbances and model mismatch are lumped into an unknown input term, and then a high gain integral observer is constructed for the estimation of this term. Through the singular perturbation theory, it is concluded that with the control direction known and the integral gain high enough, the observer output can converge to the unknown input fast enough. The Lyapunov analysis also shows the bounded stability of the closed loop system. Numerical simulation results demonstrate this simple method improves the nominal tracking performance and robustness of dynamic inversion controller against unmodeled dynamics and external disturbances.

With the economic developments, high speed railway has been paid many attentions in China and medium- short term planning of Chinese high speed railway network has been formed and most of the railways have been started into operations. In this paper, graph theory and complex network theory are adopted to assess the reliability of Chinese high speed railway network. The topological characteristics and real distances between pairs of stations are discussed to investigate the reliability of Chinese high-speed rail network. Several parameters are presented to investigate the topological characteristics and the reliability and robustness of the network subject to failures. The parameter called unit degree betweenness is proposed to assess the transport capacity of lines connecting with the nodes. The largest degree node-based attacks and the highest betweenness node-based attacks are involved into Chinese high speed railway network to assess the topological reliability and robustness. The results show that the highest betweenness node-based attacks are more effective to destroy the network than the largest degree node-based attacks. Moreover, the cumulative degree distribution and the real mileages of railways between pairs of stations can be fitted by Gauss functions, and the distribution of real shortest distances over all pairs of stations of the network is fitted by a normal distribution function. By the simulations, the critical stations, Guangzhou Station, Zhengzhou Station and Jinan Station for the largest degree node-based attacks, and Wuhan Station, Xuzhou Station and Shijiazhuang Station for the highest betweenness node-based attacks, can be obtained in this paper.

This paper is concerned with lag synchronization of two coupled delayed systems with parameter mismatch. Due to parameter mismatch, complete lag synchronization can not be achieved. Therefore, a new lag quasi-synchronization scheme is proposed to ensure that coupled systems are in a state of lag synchronization with an error level. Several simple criteria are derived and the error level is estimated by applying a generalized Halanary inequality and matrix measure. Three examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed lag quasi-synchronization scheme. It is shown that as the coupling strength increases, the estimated error level is close to the simulated one, which well supports theoretical results.

This paper addresses a robust H_(infinity) filtering problem for networked systems that are subject to both random transmission delays and packet dropouts. To start with, a data transmission model is established by employing random series with Bernoulli distributions. A sufficient condition for robust stability with H_(infinity) constraints is derived for the filtering error system. The robust filter is designed in terms of the feasibility of a linear matrix inequality (LMI). The numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the data transmission model and the proposed filtering method.

This Letter investigates synchronization of two nonidentical Lur'e systems with time-varying delay and parameter mismatches via impulsive control. Based on the theory of impulsive functional differential equations, sufficient conditions for impulsive synchronization with a bound on the synchronization error are derived. This paper analyzed the fundamental limitations of previous work and developed a new method to optimally locate actuators and sensors for structures with close modes. Optimization criteria were defined based on the distinguishing modal controllability and observability measures of close modes. An appropriate genetic algorism was adopted as the optimization algorism. Solving the high order Lyapunov functions was avoided by means of the closed-form expressions for controllability and observability Grammians. Since structure with widely separated natural frequencies is approximately balanced, computational efficiency was improved by grouping close modes together and dealing with the resulting subsystems independently. Finally, the effectiveness and optimality of the novel placement scheme were verified on a model structure with close modes.
