Accurately predicting the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries is critical for accelerating the technology development. The neural network via data driven can avoid manual feature extraction and release the difficulty of model construction. However, diverse aging mechanisms, significant device variability and dynamic operating conditions have remained major challenges. The single neural network cannot tackle these challenges efficiently. In this paper, the RUL prediction of lithium battery via neural network ensemble is developed to improve the accuracy and generalization of the prediction model. The predicting results of multiple neural networks are considered as the base vectors, and the liner combination on the base vectors are conducted to obtain the ensemble RUL prediction of lithium-ion battery. The experiment is performed on the MIT-Stanford University lithium battery accelerated degradation dataset, and the experimental results show that the developed method has achieved better generalization and higher accuracy comparing with the other methods.

The challenge of solving dynamic multi-objective optimization problems is to trace the varying Pareto optimal front and/or Pareto optimal set quickly and efficiently. This paper proposes a multi-direction prediction strategy using a hybrid chemical reaction optimization, aimed at finding the dynamic Pareto optimal front and/or Pareto optimal set as quickly and accurately as possible before the next environmental change occurs. The proposed method, multi-direction prediction multi-objective hybrid chemical reaction optimization algorithm which mainly includes a hybrid chemical reaction optimization algorithm is proposed for solving dynamic multi-objective problems, which can guide population trace the optimum. When the environment has changed, the population is divided into several subpopulations. In subpopulation, a center point was found to construct multi-direction prediction model. As a result, this approach enhances the diversity of algorithm. While the environment has not changed, the hybrid chemical reaction algorithm with particle swarm optimization algorithm can efficiency find the optimal solution, it can achieve good diversity as well as guarantee the avoidance of local optimal solutions. The proposed algorithm is measured on several benchmark test suites with various dynamic characteristics and different difficulties. Experimental results show that this algorithm is very competitive in dealing with dynamic multi-objective optimization problems when compared with four state-of-the-art approaches. © 2022, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In recent years, semantic segmentation methods based on deep learning have made remarkable developments. Despite achieving high segmentation accuracy, the performance of real-time segmentation methods cannot satisfy real-world applications. In order to achieve a balance between segmentation accuracy and speed, a real-time semantic segmentation algorithm based on Tversky loss function and mixed pooling is proposed in this paper. A Short-Term Dense Concatenate network (STDC network) is used to construct the encoder, and a mixed pooling module is used for the final part of the encoder, which uses strip pooling and average pooling to enhance the feature representation while expanding the receptive field. Additionally, a Tversky-based loss function is used for the detail guidance module of the backbone network in the encoder, and a joint loss function is used to supervise the whole network's training. We achieved 76.9% mIoU at 110.7 FPS on the Cityscapes dataset, a 2.4% improvement in accuracy over the benchmark algorithm STDCSeg, and 72.2% mIoU at 177.6 FPS on the Camvid dataset, satisfied the requirements of the real-time segmentation task. © 2023 IEEE.

The identification of drug-protein interactions (DTIs) is a critical step in drug development and repositioning. However, detecting these interactions using scientific methods presents a formidable challenge. Existing models often struggle to extract relevant information from drug-protein sequences, and they fail to consider pre-existing interactions between pairs. Here, we introduce a deep learning model, DPAG, based on attention mechanisms and graph neural networks, which overcomes these limitations. DPAG leverages information from both the drug and protein sequences, as well as the association between drug-protein pairs, to predict DTIs. We conducted multiple experiments to evaluate the performance of the model in benchmark datasets, and the results showed that DPAG achieved excellent performance in terms of AUC, AUPR, precision, and recall. Our findings suggest that DPAG holds significant potential as a promising tool for predicting DTIs in drug development and repositioning. Code is available at https://***/veresse/DPAG.

In order to solve the impact of the temporal and spatial characteristics of traffic on network routing optimization, this paper proposes convolution long-short memory neural network deep reinforcement learning (CLSDRL) model for routing optimization. The CLSDRL model consists of deep deterministic policy gradients (DDPG) deep couple with convolution neural network (CNN) and long-short memory neural network (LSTM). After extracting the spatial and temporal characteristics of network traffic with CNN and LSTM, routing decisions are made with DDPG algorithm. Experiments are conducted under different load intensities, and the network performance is evaluated by the average network delay and packet loss rate, experimental results show that this method can improve significantly network performance.

As the material basis for all life activities, proteins play a crucial role in performing life activities. Most real-life proteins perform various functions in the form of protein complexes, so it is essential for understanding of life activities to accurately identify protein complexes. Most of the existing approaches learn protein interactions directly from protein topology, ignoring the biological characteristics of the actual proteins. Nevertheless, actual protein complexes are usually composed of protein cores and protein attachments. In this study, a new MP-DE algorithm is designed from the core-attachment structure to generate protein complex cores using Markov clustering, while searching for attached proteins in the second-order neighborhood of core protein complexes based on differential evolution(DE) algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method has high detection accuracy and efficiency on the current mainstream protein-protein interaction(PPI) database.

Padding Adversarial Training: Enhancing Robustness with Adversarial Space Hypothesis

Adversarial training, represented by the projected gradient descent(PGD) adversarial training, effectively improves adversarial robustness within the upper bound of perturbation to the deep neural network(DNN) by applying adversarial examples to model retraining. When the perturbation is beyond the pale, though, the defense it provides to the model is invalid. Furthermore, it is also vulnerable to adaptive attacks and novel attacks uninvolved in adversarial training. To solve these problems, we propose the adversarial space hypothesis based on the manifold theory to explain the existence of adversarial examples from a feature space perspective. We further introduce padding adversarial training, a technique enhancing adversarial training with the adversarial space hypothesis. Padding adversarial training improves the generalization of the standard adversarial training’s robustness by 20% and provides an additional detection defense for adversarial examples with high perturbation. Moreover, we propose trap smoothing, which optimizes the target manifold’s distribution and establishes the inducing relationship between the target manifold and the feature space labelled by the padding classes. On MNIST and CIFAR-10, padding adversarial training is robust to white, black and adaptive attacks in low perturbation conditions and provides the 80%~98% detection rate of adversarial examples in high perturbation conditions. Crowdsourcing is an emerging distributed computing model that is widely used. Aiming at the uneven quality of crowdsourcing answers due to different workers' capabilities and attitudes, it is necessary to effectively study the hotspot issue of crowdsourcing answer integration. A crowdsourced answer integration algorithm based on “filter-evaluate-vote” is proposed. This algorithm is implemented using MapReduce parallel programming model in the Hadoop platform, and experiments are performed on multiple data sets. The results show that the proposed algorithm can be effective. It improves the accuracy of crowdsourced answers, and has high computing performance and horizontal scalability, which is suitable for answer integration in a big data environment.

The major work is to retrieve the surface soil moisture under crop cover in this paper. This paper proposes an improved GA-BP model called as DEFS-GA-BP model. This model is proposed to retrieve the surface soil moisture distribution using Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 remote sensing data. After extracting nine polarization features and one roughness parameter from Sentinel-1 data, five vegetation indexes from Sentinel-2 data. The differential evolution feature selection (DEFS) algorithm is applied to select the optimal feature subset. By using the genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the node weights, the back propagation (BP) neural network is trained using the optimal feature subset and then used to generate the surface soil moisture distribution. The results of inversion algorithm indicate that the proposed DEFS-GA-BP model has a better inversion precision than GA-BP model, and demonstrates its application potential in surface soil moisture inversion. © 2020 Institution of Engineering and Technology. Word embedding representation has been a research hot spot in the field of computer vision and natural language processing. The semantic quality of representation severely affects the effects of machine translation and image caption. The key factors affecting the quality of word embedding representation are capture of contextual semantics and solution of the problem of polysemy. In this paper, the principles of the current mainstream word embedding representation methods were explored, such as sparse representation (One-Hot), static representation (Word2Vec, GloVe), dynamic representation (ELMo, BERT) representation and based on position information (***-Position Embedding). The impact of those word embedding representations on image caption task was researched attentively. And those representations methods were compared experimentally using the MSCOCO data based on the same image caption model. The pros and cons of these methods were judged according to the accuracy and richness of the extracted label data. Experimental results show that the BERT model representation with dynamic bidirectional semantics has the best performance in image caption tasks, but it requires longer training time. The *** representation has the second best image semantic description effect, and its training speed is the fastest. © 2021 IEEE.
