With the rapid development of the new generation of information technologies, including cloud computing, 5G, and the Internet of Things, data outsourcing storage in the cloud has brought great convenience to data storage or access anytime and anywhere. Due to the separation of ownership and management of outsourced stored data, it faces data security risks, including data loss and personal privacy disclosure. The third-party audit of data operational behavior by logs is often employed to strengthen the security of outsourced data. However, some privacy breach incidents in recent years show that third parties who may leak information about data and users’ identities are not always trustworthy. To achieve data security and privacy protection, an operation behavior auditing scheme for outsourced data is proposed with the blockchain rather than third parties. The data operation behavior audit is carried out from three dimensions: integrity of the operation behavior log, the credibility of the operation behavior information, and compliance of operation behavior. The security analysis and experiment results indicate that this scheme is secure and feasible.

Due to the possibility of user nodes being invaded during tests of security technologies in cyber ranges, the behaviors cannot be accurately simulated according to real network environments, rendering the test results unreliable. This paper proposes a group user behavior simulation method based on bidirectional integrity verification to prevent abnormal nodes from influencing behavior propagation and experimental outcomes. Specifically, drawing on the Trusted computing 3.0 dual-system architecture, an independent trusted unit is constructed. This unit’s trusted cryptographic module measures the infection state of simulation nodes to ensure that the behavior propagation adheres to realistic logic while safeguarding users’ private information. Additionally, we enhance the traditional SIR infectious disease model by employing the designed trusted module as a third party to measure nodes before actions are transmitted, thereby preventing abnormal nodes from infecting neighbors. At the same time, with the help of bidirectional integrity verification, user nodes verify the state hash value returned by the trusted third party, preventing deception of the trusted unit and ensuring the reliability of behavior propagation. Experimental results demonstrate that the behavior propagation model based on bidirectional integrity verification significantly reduces the impact of abnormal nodes on infection peak and the time to reach this peak, and the correction effect is particularly pronounced at lower infection rates. The proposed algorithm more accurately replicates group information propagation in real Internet environments, ensuring that the simulation experiment results are both trustworthy and credible. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The field weed detection task under the perspective of Plant Protection UAVs (PPU) is characterized by multi-scale targets and rich background semantic information, which belongs to the target detection task in complex scenarios. Blindly boosting the network size and overusing the attention mechanism in such tasks are not effective in improving the model accuracy. The core of the problem lies in the fact that the covariate features of the target are shifted during the transfer of the three layers of image semantic information (visual, object and conceptual layers). This phenomenon is particularly evident at the conceptual level, resulting in models that do not accurately understand the target information. Redundant semantic information and irrational attention mechanisms for complex scenarios are the cause of the problem. In this paper, we propose the Color and Feature Space Classification (CFSC) method, which aims to construct a covariate semantic information matrix that spans the visual, object and conceptual layers. Mitigating the problem of offsetting semantic information of covariate features in complex scenarios. The color and feature space classification method is applied to a one-stage detection model, YOLOv8, and experiments are conducted on three complex scene PPU weed datasets. The experimental results show that the CFSC method can improve the model accuracy, loss computation capability and accelerate the gradient descent.

Object detection is an essential task in the field of computer vision. The one-stage object detection model directly completes object detection through a single forward propagation and has fast real-time object detection capabilities, making it widely used—especially the model of the You Only Look Once (YOLO) series. Improving the detection accuracy of the YOLO model has always been a research topic. The gradient architecture cascades feature information extraction and aggregates all features at the end, which can improve the feature fusion ability of the network. Combining the idea of gradient architecture, this paper proposes a YOLO based on gradient architecture: Gradient-YOLO. Specifically, this paper integrates gradient architecture into the backbone, neck, and bottleneck structures in the YOLO network, obtaining gradient backbone, gradient neck, and gradient bottleneck, respectively. By combining gradient architecture, various network parts in Gradient-YOLO can fully aggregate multi-layer features, reduce feature loss, and thus improve detection accuracy. This paper takes the mature YOLOv5 model and the latest YOLOv8 model as the baseline and combines gradient thinking to obtain Gradient-YOLOv5 and GradientYOLOv8. Moreover, conduct experimental testing on the MS COCO dataset. Regarding the mAP@.5 detection indicator, compared to YOLOv5s, Gradient-YOLOv5s increased by 5.07%. Compared to YOLOv8n, Gradient-YOLOv8n has increased by 4.63%. Therefore, the combination of gradient architecture can improve the detection accuracy of YOLO networks.

Map2Schedule: An End-to-End Link Scheduling Method for Urban V2V Communications

Urban vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) link scheduling with shared spectrum is a challenging problem. Its main goal is to find the scheduling policy that can maximize system performance (usually the sum capacity of each link or their energy efficiency). Given that each link can experience interference from all other active links, the scheduling becomes a combinatorial integer programming problem and generally does not scale well with the number of V2V pairs. Moreover, link scheduling requires accurate channel state information (CSI), which is very difficult to estimate with good accuracy under high vehicle mobility. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end urban V2V link scheduling method called Map2Schedule, which can directly generate V2V scheduling policy from the city map and vehicle locations. Map2Schedule delivers comparable performance to the physical-model-based methods in urban settings while maintaining low computation complexity. This enhanced performance is achieved by machine learning (ML) technologies. Specifically, we first deploy the convolutional neural network (CNN) model to estimate the CSI from street layout and vehicle locations and then apply the graph embedding model for optimal scheduling policy. Image-text retrieval is a basic cross-modal task, and the basic idea is to learn image-text matching. The key to this task is to accurately measure the similarity between these two modalities. However, most existing methods tend to measure image-text similarity based on highly correlated region-word pairs, which lacks the ability to capture complex cross-modal semantic associations, thereby resulting in failure to distinguish hard negative examples that are similar in semantic content. Furthermore, existing methods focus more on alignment of different modal features, thus neglecting deep reasoning about the semantic concepts within the modality. In this paper, we propose a new semantic information reasoning and multi-step cross-modal interaction (SRMCI) network to simultaneously explore intra-modal and inter-modal relationships. Specifically, we first propose a semantic information reasoning module to fully explore potential semantic relationships within modalities and focus on fragments with important semantic information. Then, we design a multi-step cross-modal interaction module that utilizes two different inter-modal interactive attentions and an effective gated fusion strategy to capture fragment-level and fragment-instance-level cross-modal semantic associations. In particular, this gated fusion strategy is used to learn better fine-grained feature representations to aid in understanding and establishing semantic associations between different modalities. Experiments on the benchmark datasets MS-COCO and Flickr30K demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Image-text retrieval refers to querying the text or image of another modality given an image or text, and its key lies in the ability to accurately measure the similarity between text and image. Most of the existing retrieval methods only utilize the intramodal relations of each modality or the intermodal relations of the two modalities to perform the retrieval task. To address the above problems, we integrate the intra-modal and inter-modal relations and propose a Semantic Relation-based Cross Attention network(SRCAN). In our proposed method, we first mine the possible intra-modal associations between regions in an image and between words in a text to obtain features with semantic relationships, and then capture the fine-grained associations between segments through the cross-attention mechanism. Finally, we balance the intra-modal and inter-modal relationships to improve the performance of the model. Our proposed method is experimentally validated on two datasets, Flickr30K and MS-COCO, and the experimental results show that our method achieves superior results.

Infrared small object detection is an important computer vision task involving the recognition and localization of tiny objects in infrared images, which usually contain only a few pixels. However, it encounters difficulties due to the diminutive size of the objects and the generally complex backgrounds in infrared images. In this paper, we propose a deep learning method, HCF-Net, that significantly improves infrared small object detection performance through multiple practical modules. Specifically, it includes the parallelized patch-aware attention (PPA) module, dimension-aware selective integration (DASI) module, and multi-dilated channel refiner (MDCR) module. The PPA module uses a multi-branch feature extraction strategy to capture feature information at different scales and levels. The DASI module enables adaptive channel selection and fusion. The MDCR module captures spatial features of different receptive field ranges through multiple depth-separable convolutional layers. Extensive experimental results on the SIRST infrared single-frame image dataset show that the proposed HCF-Net performs well, surpassing other traditional and deep learning models. EventTrojan: Manipulating Non-Intrusive Speech Quality Assessment via Imperceptible Events

Non-Intrusive speech quality assessment (NISQA) has gained significant attention for predicting speech’s mean opinion score (MOS) without requiring the reference speech. Researchers have gradually started to apply NISQA to various practical scenarios. However, little attention has been paid to the security of NISQA models. Backdoor attacks represent the most serious threat to deep neural networks (DNNs) due to the fact that backdoors possess a very high attack success rate once embedded. However, existing backdoor attacks assume that the attacker actively feeds samples containing triggers into the model during the inference phase. This is not adapted to the specific scenario of NISQA. And current backdoor attacks on regression tasks lack an objective metric to measure the attack performance. To address these issues, we propose a novel backdoor triggering approach (EventTrojan) that utilizes an event during the usage of the NISQA model as a trigger. Moreover, we innovatively provide an objective metric for backdoor attacks on regression tasks. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the EventTrojan attack. Besides, it also has good resistance to several defense methods. This study proposes a cross-modal retrieval technique, which employs an Attention Embedded Variational AutoEncoder (AE-VAE) to tackle the problem of reduced retrieval accuracy resulting from data noise and data absence in cross-modal retrieval tasks. First, the variational auto-encoder(VAE) is used as an infrastructure to transform modal data into latent variables by encoding and decoding different modal features, thus preserving the semantic structure of the raw modal data and suppressing noise and missing information in the data. Secondly, to better capture the important semantic features of image and text modalities, an improved multi-attention module is introduced in the encoder. In addition, a cross-modal alignment module is designed to further align the latent variables of different modalities in the latent space to solve the confusion problem and improve the accuracy and robustness of cross-modal retrieval. Finally, experiments are conducted on four public datasets, CUB, SUN, AwA1 and AwA2, and the experimental results show that our proposed model is effective in improving the accuracy and robustness of retrieval.
