Cramér–Rao Lower Bound of adaptive filtering algorithms for acoustic echo cancellation

Numerous adaptive filtering algorithms have been proposed for acoustic echo cancellation. However, whether the performance of the algorithms approaches the optimal performance or if there has been intentionally overstated remains challenging to evaluate. Fortunately, the Cramér–Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) provides a theoretical minimum variance for any unbiased estimator under given observational data and statistical models. This paper derives the CRLB of adaptive filtering algorithms for acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), in which the generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD) is utilized to model the Gaussian/non-Gaussian background noises. To accelerate the CRLB calculation process, the recursive resolution of the CRLB is presented by using the matrix inversion lemma, and the computational complexity is also analyzed. The derivation results indicate that CRLB for AEC model depends on the acoustic input (i.e., speaker’s voice) and the statistical properties of GGD noise but is unaffected by the channel sparsity. The CRLB derived in this paper can serve as a benchmark to evaluate whether the performance of the adaptive filtering algorithms is optimal and to exclude some adaptive filtering algorithms that deliberately exaggerate their performance.

China has set the goal of controlling the total energy consumption to 6 billion tonnes of standard coal by 2030 in an attempt to avoid an energy crisis. Generally, freight transportation is an energy-intensive industry. Controlling the energy consumption of freight transportation is crucial for achieving energy-saving goals in China. In this study, we establish the annual control model for freight transportation structure adjustment from the perspectives of the target year prediction and the intermediate year controlling to control energy consumption in the freight industry. We solve the model and obtain the annual control plan of freight transportation structure adjustment in China (2021-2030). As per the plan, energy consumption will reach its peak in 2029, with 145 million tonnes of standard coal. Lastly, we proposed a series of reasonable policy recommendations. This study will provide a reference for the sustainable development of transportation in China. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Liquid biopsy offers a promising approach for cancer detection, with biosensors enhancing its practicality and applicability. In this study, we propose a biosensor that utilizes the synergistic catalytic release of fuel-generated bubbles by AuCuMn and CaH to improve detection efficiency. The bubble propulsion of DNA probes accelerates receptor-target interactions, significantly enhancing the biosensor's performance. Specifically, when detecting miRNA-21, bubble propulsion lowered the minimum detectable concentration from 3.2 pmol/L to 640 fmol/L, achieving a fivefold increase in sensitivity. Furthermore, the DNA probe in the biosensor can be modularly replaced to detect other miRNAs, such as miRNA-96, miRNA-155, and miRNA-210. These miRNAs can be quantitatively detected within the range of 640 fmol/L to 50 nmol/L, exhibiting excellent specificity, reproducibility and stability. Abnormal expression of these miRNAs was clearly observed in HER2+ breast cancer patients' serum. These findings not only confirm the biosensor's effectiveness in detecting cancer-related miRNAs but also provide valuable insights for its future clinical translation and application. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

To detect weak radiation signal,a front-end signal processing module based on CdZnTe radiation detector is designed,fabricated and *** module is mainly composed of three sections which are the preamplifier,forming circuit and buffer ***8605 is employed as the core to design the preamplifier,then CR-RC3 is selected as the main structure to design the forming circuit,and the two-stage Sallen-key filter is used to form the filter *** addition,the gain regulator,buffer and power filter circuits are integrated to build the weak signal processing *** test results show that the noise can be suppressed in the range of 102～162 eat 0～35℃.And the non-linearity of the output voltage at room temperature is less than 3.75 %,the energy resolution of 241 Am 59.5 keV radiation source can reach8.6%,which can meet the requirements of weak radiation signals detection.

Delaying aging is an eternal goal for humanity. Collagen-based materials, employed as dermal fillers to smoothen wrinkles, have attained extensive utilization. Nevertheless, traditional animal-derived collagen protein primarily presents concerns pertaining to disease risks, potential immunological reactions, and batch instability. In this investigation, the filler composed of recombinant human collagen type III (rhCol III) with excellent injectability was fabricated using synthetic biology. The in vitro examination of cell interaction with rhCol III revealed commendable biocompatibility, with concentration-dependent impacts on cell proliferation, migration and collagen secretion. Subsequently, we established a skin damage animal model through UV-photoaging and introduced rhCol III as a bioactive material for in vivo implantation, systematically comparing its biological effect with pCollagen, hyaluronic acid (HA) and saline thorough histological observation, immunofluorescence staining, hydroxyproline quantification and analysis of specific gene expression. Outcomes indicated rhCol III prompted augmented production of collagen I (Col I), collagen III (Col III) and elastic fibers, thereby contributing to the remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM). In summary, our investigation contributed robust biosafety and proficient attenuation of UV-induced skin photoaging by rhCol III under single injection. Despite the imperative ongoing efforts required for the successful translation from bench to clinic, the discernibly superior safety and efficacy profile of rhCol III positioned it as a promising candidate within the domain of dermal fillers. © 2023, The Authors. A systematic study was undertaken of the flavor disparities of Jiangxiang-flavor Baijiu produced across southern and northern China. Five non-volatile organic acids, seven amino acids, and twenty-one volatile compounds (OAV > 1) were identified, with 14 key aroma-active compounds determined through aroma omission and triangle tests. Quantitative targeted flavoromics and partition coefficient method were undertaken through descriptive sensory analysis. Sensory evaluation shows the intensities of floral, fruity, acidic, and grain aromas of the fourteen key aroma-active compounds were enhanced in the presence of non-volatiles. Partition coefficient analysis demonstrates that non-volatiles enhance the aroma release of most key aroma-active compounds, which aligns with sensory evaluation results showing significantly intensified fruity and floral notes following non-volatile supplementation. Co-adding organic acids and amino acids had a lower promoting effect on some volatiles than adding organic acids alone. The findings guide Baijiu production by optimizing fermentation to control non-volatile accumulation and modulate volatile release.

The PandaX-4T liquid xenon detector at the China Jinping Underground laboratory is used to measure the solar B8 neutrino flux by detecting neutrinos through coherent scattering with xenon nuclei. Data samples requiring the coincidence of scintillation and ionization signals (paired), as well as unpaired ionization-only signals (US2), are selected with energy threshold of approximately 1.1 keV (0.33 keV) nuclear recoil energy. Combining the commissioning run and the first science run of PandaX-4T, a total exposure of 1.20 and 1.04 tonne·year are collected for the paired and US2, respectively. After unblinding, 3 and 332 events are observed with an expectation of 2.8±0.5 and 251±32 background events, for the paired and US2 data, respectively. A combined analysis yields a best-fit B8 neutrino signal of 3.5 (75) events from the paired (US2) data sample, with ∼37% uncertainty, and the background-only hypothesis is disfavored at 2.64σ significance. This gives a solar B8 neutrino flux of (8.4±3.1)×106 cm−2 s−1, consistent with the standard solar model prediction. It is also the first indication of solar B8 neutrino “fog” in a dark matter direct detection experiment.

Aiming at the problem that the mechanical structure of the ordinary pendulum spherical robot is improperly designed to cause a certain degree of freedom to swing the range,this paper proposes a two-degree-of-freedom spherical robot XK-I with a swing around the X and Y *** design concept,mechanical principle and rolling and rotating motion characteristics of the XK-I robot are *** to the characteristics of XK-I robot motion,the dynamic model of linear motion is established by Lagrangian equation and *** to the kinetic model,the XK-I robot steering is implemented by controlling the number of steps of the stepping motor by the pulse signal,so that the XK-I robot can move in any *** linear and steering tests of the XK-I robot were carried out through real experiments to verify the feasibility of the design.

We present a novel constraint on light dark matter utilizing 1.54 metric ton/year of data acquired from the PandaX-4T dual-phase xenon time projection chamber. This constraint is derived through detecting electronic recoil signals resulting from the interaction with solar-enhanced dark matter flux. Low-mass dark matter particles, lighter than a few MeV/c2, can scatter with the thermal electrons in the Sun. Consequently, with higher kinetic energy, the boosted dark matter component becomes detectable via contact scattering with xenon electrons, resulting in a few keV energy deposition that exceeds the threshold of PandaX-4T. We calculate the expected recoil energy in PandaX-4T considering the Sun’s acceleration with heavy mediators and the detection capabilities of the xenon detector. The first experimental search results using the xenon detector yield the most stringent upper limits cross section of 3.51×10−39 cm2 at 0.08 MeV/c2 for a solar boosted dark matter mass ranging from 0.02 to 10 MeV/c2, achieving a 23-fold improvement compared with earlier experimental studies.

We report the first search for the elastic scatterings between cosmic-ray boosted sub-MeV dark matter (DM) and electrons in the PandaX-4T liquid xenon experiment. Sub-MeV DM particles can be accelerated by scattering with electrons in the cosmic rays and produce detectable electron recoil signals in the detector. Using the commissioning data from PandaX-4T of 0.63 tonne·year exposure, we set new constraints on DM-electron scattering cross sections for DM masses ranging from 10 eV/c2 to 3 keV/c2.
