In this paper the authors present the results of a prototype implemented based on previous concept studies: a novel mobility management framework with functions for built-in verification of configuration changes and for fault tolerance. This mechanism is required for increased network stability, to prevent the data loss, inadequate changes and to ensure that the moving user stays connected even in a busy network environment. The scope of this paper is to propose a proof of concept study in order to demonstrate the reliability and the superiority of the new architecture when compared to the traditional peer-to-peer (P2P) model. The paper deals with the implementation of the algorithm for fault tolerance and functions for updating the network configuration against all unexpected changes. The advantage of this approach is that the fault rate is extremely decreased, the data flow is constant, time is saved, the client's performance is increased and the server load is reduced. The mobility framework is implemented in Java using OMNET++ platform as a simulation environment.

The liberalization of energy markets and the aims of the climate protection promote distributed systems. These systems permit inclusion of all practicable energy resources in the energy mix in connection with storage facilities, controllable loads as well as combined heating and power generation. This article describes an energy management system for distributed energy supply systems and it's application as a planning tool to prepare economy studies. The function of the energy management system is short-term optimization in co-generation systems, incorporating generating units using renewable primary energy. It is based essentially on the function packages forecast (weather, generation and load), operations planning and online modules. The operations planning takes into account different generating units, energy storage mechanisms, demand-side management, contracts and co-generation. The online modules perform redistribution of generation and load schedules, generation control and load control. The studies reported here deal with contract management, evaluation of emissions and renewable energy combined with battery systems.

Any person involved in R&D activities is aware about the importance of testing. Depending on the type of R&D field, test associated costs can vary between 25% of the total costs to 80%. The importance of this activity is not always fully understood nor financially supported. Also, the high pressure put on reducing the time to market (TTM) for new products leads to reductions being made sometimes in the detriment of the testing activities. Therefore the efficiency and speed of the testing processes, in different stages of the product development, has to increase with every intended reduction for the TTM. This paper presents an integrated test platform which targets the testing of electronic control units (ECUs) from the automotive field as well as other industrial controllers and hardware solutions. It includes the hardware test equipment and the software tools developed for this purpose.

We quantified the user-perceived quality for a VoIP application running in an encrypted wireless network and we experimentally determined the maximum number of parallel VoIP calls that can be achieved, at the best quality of the speech signal. We studied the behaviour of the application for four encryption mechanisms and for each of them we measured the bandwidth waste due to encryption. We used the ITU-T PESQ score to objectively assess the quality of the speech signal. In this paper we present the test setup and the tools we used for our experiments, as well as our experimental results and conclusions.

In software engineering domain, SPC is currently utilized only by organizations which have high maturity levels according to the process improvement models like ISO/IEC 15504 and CMMI. In this paper, we present a software tool that we developed to ease and enhance application of SPC especially for emergent organizations. Our tool has facilities to assess the suitability of software processes and metrics for SPC as well as to analyze a software process with respect to its qualifying metrics using SPC techniques like control charts, histograms, bar charts, and pareto charts. In this paper we explain the tool by means of a bug-fixing process of a system and software development organization.
