this paper presents the conception of analysis tool whose efficiency tested in an acoustic investigation emphatic sounds of Standard Arabic (SA). During software development, techniques based on computational algorithms are used in programming, in particular the algorithms of automatic Formant extraction using Linear Prediction Coding (LPC) to develop the analysis parameters which are significant factors for acoustic structure development language. The acoustic analysis aims to measure vowel formant frequencies (F1-F3) of phonemes [d], [t], [z], [s] their non-emphatic counterparts [d], [t], [z], [s] and at initial, medial, and final position. Formant structures show the effect of emphatic consonants on SA vowels by a raised F1, lowered F2, and raised F3 in the vowel adjacent to the emphatic consonant. The pattern across a rapprochement between F1 and F2 suggests that emphasis involves a constriction near the epiglottis. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper explores the application of genetic algorithms to optimize ARX-Laguerre model parameters. It outlines the ARX-Laguerre modeling process and genetic algorithm principles. A fitness function is chosen and the impact of noise on it is addressed. A new methodology for optimizing Laguerre poles using genetic algorithms is proposed. It is used in modeling a real 2-Degree-of-Freedom helicopter offering valuable insights for real-world applications. © 2024 IEEE.

The pansharpening of high-resolution panchromatic (Pan) image and low-resolution multispectral (MS) images represents an important task in the remote sensing field. It allows the joint exploitation of the information derived from both types of images. However, this may cause a distortion of spectral information or a lack in details and structures. The multiresolution analysis using wavelet transforms has proved its efficiency in the pansharpening domain, due to the representation of the image content over different resolution levels. In image fusion applications, we always need more detail information to be incorporated in the pansharpening procedure in order to produce enhanced results. However, the limitation of the wavelet transform to three types of oriented detail coefficients prevents this need from being met. To overcome this limitation, we propose to use the redundant contourlet transform (RCT) which extracts a richer multiscale directional information from the image. For this purpose, two RCT-based pansharpening methods are introduced and suitable data fusion procedures are described. We conducted several experiments on two different datasets acquired respectively by ALSAT-2A and IKONOS satellites. The visual results as well as quantitative results from evaluation metrics demonstrate the performance of the proposed methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Simulations are commonly used to develop and evaluate video encryption algorithms. Although these approaches are useful for demonstrating theoretical feasibility and algorithm performance, they neglect practical challenges and real-world communication conditions. This oversight creates a critical gap in evaluating their effectiveness and security in practical applications. In this paper, we describe a novel, to the best of our knowledge, video encryption scheme that employs a modified chaotic Colpitts oscillator, a customized Josephus problem, and ribonucleic acid (RNA) operations, and is implemented in visible light communication (VLC) environment. The modified Colpitts oscillator reveals significant phenomena, the most prominent for this study being chaos. The encryption scheme involves block scrambling and pixel-level permutation employing a customized Josephus problem and a column and row shifting technique. Diffusion is then achieved through a custom Josephus problem-oriented RNA operation combined with basic RNA operations and cipher block chaining (CBC). Based on the results, we found that the customized Josephus problem-based permutation performed more efficiently than traditional methods, whereas the column and row shifting permutation was more robust. By eliminating key sequence coding and item-to-item operations, the proposed RNA operation reduces computational overhead. This video encryption scheme is proven to be effective and resilient at securing video data transmitted over the VLC channel, and it constitutes a significant advancement in areas such as surveillance, medical imaging, and military communication requiring robust secured video data. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. Retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT) images are widely used to diagnose and grade macular diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD). However, manual interpretation of OCT images is time-consuming and subjective. Therefore, automated and accurate classification of OCT images is essential for assisting ophthalmologists in clinical decision-making. This paper proposes a pyramidal deep neural network that can diagnose normal and two types of AMD (dry and wet) in OCT images. Our network leverages features from different scales of a pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) and integrates them with two advanced versions of feature pyramid networks: bidirectional feature pyramid network (BiFPN) and path aggregation network (PANet). We evaluate our network on the NEH dataset and compare it with its predecessor. Our results show that our BiFPN-VGG16 and PAN-VGG16 models achieve accuracies of 94.S% and 95.0%, respectively, which are 2.8 to 3% higher than the previous models. Our approach demonstrates the potential of multi-scale feature networks for OCT image classification and can serve as an auxiliary diagnostic tool for ophthalmologists.

This paper studies the influence of an explicit symmetry break on the dynamics of a memristive band pass filter. It is shown that the circuit exhibits complex behaviours. The symmetry break is achieved by considering a memristor emulator with an asymmetric current-voltage characteristic. We describe how the bifurcation sequences, the number and types of coexisting solutions, and the topology of the basins of attraction metamorphose when monitoring both the system parameters and initial conditions. The theoretical results are validated by a series of simulations under PSPICE. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Near-infrared (NIR) emitters are employed in a wide range of applications such as bio-sensors, optical communication devices, and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The development of NIR thermally activated delayed-fluorescence (TADF) materials lags significantly behind that of platinum complexes and quantum dots. To achieve cost reduction and environmental sustainability, TADF OLEDs have attracted extensive attention in both the academic community and industry in recent years. Herein, a conjugated planar acceptor was applied in a TADF emitter (TCN-TPA) to enhance the intermolecular through-space electronic coupling and redshift the emission spectra at high doping levels. In addition, multiple sub-acceptor units were integrated into a rigid acceptor to narrow the band gap. Importantly, the overall robust configuration of the TCN-TPA molecule led to high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). Consequently, TCN-TPA demonstrated a record-high external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 2.4% at 802 nm and 1.1% at 841 nm among TADF OLEDs in this spectral range. © 2023 The Royal Society of Chemistry

The goal of this cross-linguistic study is to analyze the speech of children in the age group of 8-12 years and automatic classification of children's emotions from various speech data in Russian and Tamil languages. A standardized approach for the collection of speech (spontaneous and acting speech - emotional words, phrases, and meaningless texts) was used. Two emotional child speech corpora include the emotional speech of 95 Russian children and 40 Indian children were created. Annotation of the emotional speech was carried out in four categories "joy - neutral - sadness – anger" by two speech specialists of the same nationality of the child. The set of 2505 labeled audio files of Russian children and 418 labeled audio files of Tamil children were used. The SVM classifier shows slightly better results in Russian language, and the MLP classifier in Tamil. Inter-Cultural approach (mixed dataset of Russian and Indian speech) revealed that the accuracy of recognition of all emotions remains higher. In Cross-Cultural approach, on samples of Tamil speech, anger state is recognized better, and in samples of Russian speech – sad state. Using 5 Layered CNN Model, the accuracy was revealed for Russian speech is higher than for Indian children. © 2022 Proceedings of the International Congress on Acoustics. All rights reserved.

The efficacy of photovoltaic systems is significantly impacted by electrical production losses attributed to faults. Ensuring the rapid and cost-effective restoration of system efficiency necessitates robust fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) procedures. This study introduces a novel interval-gated recurrent unit (I-GRU) based Bayesian optimization framework for FDD in grid-connected photovoltaic (GCPV) systems. The utilization of an interval-valued representation is proposed to address uncertainties inherent in the systems, the GRU is employed for fault classification, while the Bayesian algorithm optimizes its hyperparameters. Addressing uncertainties through the proposed approach enhances monitoring capabilities, mitigating computational and storage costs associated with sensor uncertainties. The effectiveness of the proposed approach for FDD in GCPV systems is demonstrated using experimental application.

The challenges posed by nonlinearities in industrial systems necessitate innovative techniques that outperform the limitations of traditional methods such as principal component analysis (PCA). While Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA) offers a robust solution to handle nonlinear data, its computational requirements are a significant issue, especially for large-sized datasets. In this work, we propose a novel technique, namely, reduced kernel principal component analysis-based spectral clustering (RKPCA SpC ), to monitor and detect faults in the benchmark Tennessee Eastman process. The suggested approach addresses the complexity associated with KPCA by reducing data size during the model training phase. This reduction involves retaining only the principal components, preserving informative features, and selecting pertinent samples without compromising the original data's content. The efficacy of the proposed method is evaluated through key performance metrics, including false alarm rate (FAR), missed detection rate (MDR), detection time delay (DTD), and computation time (CT). Additionally, gained execution time (GET), gained storage space (GSP), and loss function (LF) are considered, providing a comprehensive assessment of the developed paradigms' effectiveness. The results demonstrate the promising capabilities of our proposed scheme.
