Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). Deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have facilitated remarkable success in recognizing various food items and agricultural stress. A decent performance boost has been witnessed in solving the agro-food challenges by mining and analyzing region-based partial feature descriptors. Also, computationally expensive ensemble learning schemes fusing multiple CNNs have been studied in earlier works. This work proposes a region attention scheme for modeling long-range dependencies by building a correlation among different regions within an input image. The attention method enhances feature representation by learning the usefulness of context information from complementary regions. Spatial pyramidal pooling and average pooling pairs aggregate partial descriptors into a holistic representation. Both pooling methods establish spatial and channelwise relationships without incurring extra parameters. A context gating scheme is applied to refine the descriptiveness of weighted attentional features, which is relevant for classification. The proposed region attention network for food items and agricultural stress recognition method, dubbed RAFA-Net, has been experimented on three public food datasets, and has achieved state-of-the-art performances with distinct margins. The highest top-1 accuracy of RAFA-Net is 91.69%, 91.56%, and 96.97% on the UECFood-100, UECFood-256, and MAFood-121 datasets, respectively. In addition, better accuracies have been achieved on two benchmark agricultural stress datasets. The best top-1 accuracies on the Insect Pest (IP-102) and PlantDoc-27 plant disease datasets are 92.36%, and 85.54%, respectively;implying RAFA-Net's generalization capability. © 2023 IEEE.

Privacy-Preserving Utilization of Distribution System Flexibility for Enhanced TSO-DSO Interoperability: A Novel Machine Learning-Based Optimal Power Flow Approach

Due to the transformation of the power system, the effective use of flexibility from the distribution system (DS) is becoming crucial for efficient network management. Leveraging this flexibility requires interoperability among stakeholders, including Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs). However, data privacy concerns among stakeholders present significant challenges for utilizing this flexibility effectively. To address these challenges, we propose a machine learning (ML)-based method in which the technical constraints of the DSs are represented by ML models trained exclusively on non-sensitive data. Using these models, the TSO can solve the optimal power flow (OPF) problem and directly determine the dispatch of flexibility-providing units (FPUs)—in our case, distributed generators (DGs)-in a single round of communication. To achieve this, we introduce a novel neural network (NN) architecture specifically designed to efficiently represent the feasible region of the DSs, ensuring computational effectiveness. Furthermore, we incorporate various PQ charts rather than idealized ones, demonstrating that the proposed method is adaptable to a wide range of FPU characteristics. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed method, we benchmark it against the standard AC-OPF on multiple DSs with meshed connections and multiple points of common coupling (PCCs) with varying voltage magnitudes. The numerical results indicate that the proposed method achieves performant results while prioritizing data privacy. Additionally, since this method directly determines the dispatch of FPUs, it eliminates the need for an additional disaggregation step. By representing the DSs technical constraints through ML models trained exclusively on nonsensitive data, the transfer of sensitive information between stakeholders is prevented. Spacecraft pose estimation is an essential contribution to facilitating central space mission activities like autonomous navigation, rendezvous, docking, and on-orbit servicing. Nonetheless, methods like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), and Particle Filtering suffer significant drawbacks when implemented in space. Such techniques tend to have high computational complexity, low domain generalization capacity for varied or unknown conditions (domain generalization problem), and accuracy loss with noise from the space environment causes such as fluctuating lighting, sensor limitations, and background interference. In order to overcome these challenges, this study suggests a new solution through the combination of a Dual-Channel Transformer Network with Bayesian Optimization methods. The innovation is at the center with the utilization of EfficientNet, augmented with squeeze-and-excitation attention modules, to extract feature-rich representations without sacrificing computational efficiency. The dual-channel architecture dissects satellite pose estimation into two dedicated streams—translational data prediction and orientation estimation via quaternion-based activation functions for rotational precision. Activation maps are transformed into transformer-compatible sequences via 1×1 convolutions, allowing successful learning in the transformer's encoder-decoder system. To maximize model performance, Bayesian Optimization with Gaussian Process Regression and the Upper Confidence Bound (UCB) acquisition function makes the optimal hyperparameter selection with fewer queries, conserving time and resources. This entire framework, used here in Python and verified with the SLAB Satellite Pose Estimation Challenge dataset, had an outstanding Mean IOU of 0.9610, reflecting higher accuracy compared to standard models. This paper presents a novel approach for head tracking in augmented reality (AR) flight simulators using an adaptive fusion of Kalman and particle filters. This fusion dynamically balances the strengths of both algorithms, leveraging Kalman filters for computational efficiency and particle filters for handling non-linearities based on real-time factors such as sensor noise and head movement patterns. Our method demonstrates superior tracking precision and reduced latency, making it particularly effective for immersive pilot training in AR-based flight simulations. While focused on flight simulation, our approach holds high potential for broader applications in other AR and virtual reality (VR) environments where precise, real-time head tracking is crucial. These results provide actionable design guidance for developers optimizing tracking systems in environments that require fast response times and high accuracy. Future extensions of this research could explore the generalization of our approach across diverse AR applications, including human-computer interaction (HCI), medical simulations, and gaming. © 1968-2012 IEEE.

This work deals with the study of implementation possibilities of broadband optical multiplexer/demultiplexer in the form of AWG (Arrayed Waveguide Gratings) in TWDM-PON topology (Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network) by norm G.989.1 as a key component of the hybrid network. The functionality possibilities of the TWDM-PON system are observed where the goal of AWG design is to support also wavelengths different from standard wavelengths used for TWDM-PON in C-band (Conventional) ranges from 1530 nm to 1565nm and L-band (Long-wavelength, 1565-1625nm) bands. This should allow for older communication systems (for example EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) given by norm IEEE 802.3ah and GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network) by norm ITU-T G.984) to be operating concurrently over ODN (optical distribution network) without mutual disturbance with newer xPON communication systems. The network topology operating in this manner makes efficient use of passive infrastructure, including reducing the cost of construction (CAPEx) or operation (OPEx) while creating hybrid types of optical networks. © 2025 SPIE.

Nowadays, there is strong demand for high-bitrate systems that can provide and distribute large bandwidth while assuring minimal error rate and high-quality communication with regards to the implementation of cloud centres, new 6G networks and smart applications. This all leads to continuous dynamic development in the field of xPON networks bringing new solutions for future optical networks. The presented work focuses on NG-PON2 networks, which are represented by Time and Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (TWDM-PON) (G.989.1) or Super-PON (IEEE P802.3cs). The basis of the introduced topology is in combination of wave and time access through the TWDM-PON network. In our simulation, we were focusing on the utilization of eight wavelengths operating in the C and L band with amplifiers implementation, namely Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) or Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA). Regarding to used amplifier the ODN (Optical Distribution Network) reach of TWDM-PON were studied as well as the bitrate of 10 Gbps per wavelength in both upstream and downstream directions with the help of parameters such as bit error rate (BER), Q-factor. From the simulation results, it is shown that by implementing an EDFA amplifier, a longer range of up to 60 km and a lower BER than that of SOA can be achieved. The proposed TWDM-PON system provides a communication network for urban as well as rural areas with guaranteed high bit rates and range. © 2025 SPIE.

This paper presents the development of a multilingual hate speech detection model that effectively processes and classifies content in both Arabic and English. The study leverages both traditional machine learning models, such as K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Naive Bayes, and Support Vector Machines (SVM), as well as advanced deep learning models, specifically Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) networks. A key challenge addressed is the classification of mixed-language content, which is common on social media platforms in the MENA region. To enhance detection performance, preprocessing techniques were applied to the text data, and the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) was used to balance the dataset. The results show that the Bi-LSTM model outperformed traditional machine learning approaches, particularly in identifying hate speech across multiple languages. The proposed model demonstrates superior accuracy and robustness in handling mixed-language input, providing a more effective solution for real-world hate speech detection tasks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The first course of control is under a critical review. Both the teaching material covered and the teaching methods require new considerations. Introducing interactivity in the education process makes the learning more successful and enjoyable. MATLAB provides an effective environment for learning and applying different disciplines. Control101 is a new MATLAB toolbox under development which provides tools for interactive learning of control disciplines. This paper presents the framework for teaching discrete control algorithms applied for processes containing large dead times.
