In 2020, Coregliano and Razborov introduced a general framework to study limits of combinatorial objects, using logic and model theory. They introduced the abstract chromatic number and proved/reproved multiple Erdős-Stone-Simonovits-type theorems in different settings. In 2022, Coregliano extended this by showing that similar results hold when we count copies of Kt instead of edges. Our aim is threefold. First, we provide a purely combinatorial approach. Second, we extend their results by showing several other graph parameters and other settings where Erdős-Stone-Simonovits-type theorems follow. YAQQ: Yet Another Quantum Quantizer - Design Space Exploration of Quantum Gate Sets using Novelty Search

The standard model of quantum computation is based on quantum circuits, where the number and quality of the quantum gates composing the circuit influence the runtime and fidelity of the computation. The fidelity of the decomposition of quantum algorithms, represented as unitary matrices, to bounded depth quantum circuits depends strongly on the set of gates available for the decomposition routine. To investigate this dependence, we explore the design space of discrete quantum gate sets and present a software tool for comparative analysis of quantum processing units and control protocols based on their native gates. The evaluation is conditioned on a set of unitary transformations representing target use cases on the quantum processors. The cost function considers three key factors: (i) the statistical distribution of the decomposed circuits’ depth, (ii) the statistical distribution of process fidelities for the approximate decomposition, and (iii) the relative novelty of a gate set compared to other gate sets in terms of the aforementioned properties. The developed software, called YAQQ (Yet Another Quantum Quantizer), enables the discovery of an optimized set of quantum gates through this tunable joint cost function. To identify these gate sets, we use the novelty search algorithm, circuit decomposition techniques (like Solovay-Kitaev, Cartan, and quantum Shannon decomposition), and stochastic optimization to implement YAQQ within the Qiskit quantum simulator environment. YAQQ exploits reachability tradeoffs conceptually derived from quantum algorithmic information theory. Our results demonstrate the pragmatic application of identifying gate sets that are advantageous to popularly used quantum gate sets in representing quantum algorithms. Consequently, we demonstrate pragmatic use cases of YAQQ in comparing transversal logical gate sets in quantum error correction codes, designing optimal quantum instruction sets, and compiling to specific quantum processors. © 202

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of morbidity and death worldwide. Invasive coronary angiography is the most accurate technique for diagnosing CAD, but is invasive and costly. Hence, analytical methods such as machine learning and data mining techniques are becoming increasingly more popular. Although physicians need to know which arteries are stenotic, most of the researchers focus only on CAD detection and few studies have investigated stenosis of the right coronary artery (RCA), left circumflex (LCX) artery and left anterior descending (LAD) artery separately. Meanwhile, most of the datasets in this field are noisy (data uncertainty). However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no study conducted to address this important problem. This study uses the extension of the Z-Alizadeh Sani dataset, containing 303 records with 54 features. A new feature selection algorithm is proposed in this work. Meanwhile, by discretization of data, we also handle the uncertainty in CAD prediction. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study attempted to handle uncertainty in CAD prediction. Finally, the genetic algorithm (GA) is used to determine the hyper-parameters of the support vector machine (SVM) kernels. We have achieved high accuracy for the stenosis diagnosis of each main coronary artery. The results of this study can aid the clinicians to validate their manual stenosis diagnosis of RCA, LCX and LAD coronary arteries. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Electronic commerce, or people call it e-commerce, it refers to buying and selling products or services on the Internet and transferring money and data to carry out these transactions. More consumers are shifting from traditional transactions to e-commerce, as e-commerce becomes faster and cheaper. In contrast, electronic commerce provides more ease and variety in the composition of goods and services worldwide. E-commerce is the type of electronic business that has been in business for more than 25 years and is used by many users around the world. This research aims to shed light on the nature of electronic commerce and the difficulties it faces on the technical side. This research used descriptive methodology after gathering data from online and indexed research. The research also mentioned five of these obstacles, and how the Amazon overcomes them, and we will take a look at how the opportunities of the Amazon grow so that they have an effect called the Amazon effect, the research reached an important conclusion that eDesk is the leading help desk for online sellers, specifically designed to meet the exact requirements of e-commerce. The research also found solutions to some of the weaknesses faced by electronic commerce platforms. © 2021 IEEE.

Vortex flow characteristics in a reservoir and horizontal water intake have been predicted by using regression models in this numerical research. In this paper, three standalone machine learning models–Random Forest (RF), K-nearest neighbours (KNN), Gradient Boosting (GB)–and a proposed hybrid model based on Lévy Jaya Algorithm (LJA) and GB (LJA-GB) are employed to estimate the effect of trash racks on flow properties at power intakes. The experimental data which are prepared for the proposed study in this paper were obtained through a rectangular laboratory tank 8.3 m³ with various submergence depths and Froude numbers on nine trash racks with 63.7%–84.1% opening, made out of 2, 2.5, 4, and 6 mm thick copper wire. The outcomes revealed that the proposed LJA-GB model shows the best overall performance among the four models used for estimation. Thus, the LJA-GB model has the lowest mean absolute error (MAE) (0.3344), mean squared error (MSE) (0.1784), and root mean squared error (RMSE) (0.4223) values and highest R-squared ((Formula presented.)) (0.9899) and Willmott’s index (WI) values (0.9508) in the testing stage metrics for (Formula presented.) estimation and MAE (0.0061), MSE (0.0001), RMSE (0.0073), (Formula presented.) (0.9971), WI (0.9727) for (Formula presented.) estimation. Whereas the RF and KNN models exhibited poor performance in both stages of estimation. © 2024 The Author(s). This article focuses on analyzing various controlled planar dynamic crane models and provides simulations of multiple used approaches. A number of publications are devoted to the control of a plane crane model. This simplifying circumstance is justified, and most bridge cranes allow only one direction to shift the payload. It is therefore acceptable to replace this spatial system with a planar one. And the simplest controlled linearized model without friction and damping, non-linear model without friction and damping, and both mentioned models considering rolling friction between trolley and its rails. Models with viscous damping will not be considered because this damping is small for cranes. This article provides a comparison of individual computational approaches as well as comparisons with real-world crane response. Finally, there is a suitable and simple method of linearized system control with respect to rolling friction, which consists of a combination of feedback linearization method and PPM method. © 19th Conference on applied Mathematics, APLIMAT 2020 Proceedings. Battery powered embedded applications of active vibration control must conserve energy as much as possible, in order to prolongate effective service time between charging. Besides the power requirements of actuators and sensors, the microcontroller unit executing the feedback control algorithm drains the battery as well. Reducing the current drain of the microcontroller is possible by slowing down its clock frequency;or, sending the device into sleep mode when idle. This paper attempts to provide a definitive answer as to which of these strategies is better. A simple theoretical approximation derived here suggests that running the microcontroller at maximum frequency, then sending it to a low power mode is always preferable. We confirm this by laboratory experiments measuring the microcontroller power requirements of the positive position feedback algorithm. For this algorithm and choice of sampling time a five-fold current saving is possible on the Microchip (Atmel) ATmega 328p microcontroller unit, reducing its current draw from 15 mA to 3 mA. The experimental current and instantaneous power measurements shown in the paper confirm our prediction and general conclusion. © Proceedings of 2020 International Congress on Noise Control engineering, INTER-NOISE 2020.
