Human body-pose estimation is a complex problem in computer vision. Recent research interests have been widened specifically on the Sports, Yoga, and Dance (SYD) postures for maintaining health conditions. The SYD pose categories are regarded as a fine-grained image classification task due to the complex movement of body parts. Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have attained significantly improved performance in solving various human body-pose estimation problems. Though decent progress has been achieved in yoga postures recognition using deep learning techniques, fine-grained sports, and dance recognition necessitates ample research attention. However, no benchmark public image dataset with sufficient inter-class and intra-class variations is available yet to address sports and dance postures classification. To solve this limitation, we have proposed two image datasets, one for 102 sport categories and another for 12 dance styles. Two public datasets, Yoga-82 which contains 82 classes and Yoga-107 represents 107 classes are collected for yoga postures. These four SYD datasets are experimented with the proposed deep model, SYD-Net, which integrates a patch-based attention (PbA) mechanism on top of standard backbone CNNs. The PbA module leverages the self-attention mechanism that learns contextual information from a set of uniform and multi-scale patches and emphasizes discriminative features to understand the semantic correlation among patches. Moreover, random erasing data augmentation is applied to improve performance. The proposed SYD-Net has achieved state-of-the-art accuracy on Yoga-82 using five base CNNs. This research introduces a novel anomaly detection framework for IoT -based Smart Grid Cybersecurity Systems. Leveraging autoencoders, LSTM networks, GANs, SOMs, and transfer learning, our approach achieves superior precision, recall, and execution time compared to existing methods. Visualizations and an ablation study further validate the method's efficiency, emphasizing the critical roles of attention mechanisms and transfer learning. This comprehensive solution addresses the dynamic challenges of smart grid cybersecurity, offering a versatile and adaptive anomaly detection mechanism for real-world applications. This indicates the real-time efficacy of our anomaly detection method. Through our study of ablation and all aspects of computing, we discovered that attention processes and transfer learning facilitate faster problem solving in a dynamic smart grid. Our method is distinct and adaptable enough to address every problem arising from the discovery of anomalies in IoT-driven Smart Grid Cybersecurity Systems.

This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the “performing Scalable Inference” technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. Challenges of deep learning methods for COVID-19 detection using public datasets

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, several research studies have proposed Deep Learning (DL)-based automated COVID-19 detection, reporting high cross-validation accuracy when classifying COVID-19 patients from normal or other common Pneumonia. Although the reported outcomes are very high in most cases, these results were obtained without an independent test set from a separate data source(s). DL models are likely to overfit training data distribution when independent test sets are not utilized or are prone to learn dataset-specific artifacts rather than the actual disease characteristics and underlying pathology. This study aims to assess the promise of such DL methods and datasets by investigating the key challenges and issues by examining the compositions of the available public image datasets and designing different experimental setups. A convolutional neural network-based network, called CVR-Net (COVID-19 Recognition Network), has been proposed for conducting comprehensive experiments to validate our hypothesis. The presented end-to-end CVR-Net is a multi-scale-multi-encoder ensemble model that aggregates the outputs from two different encoders and their different scales to convey the final prediction probability. Three different classification tasks, such as 2-, 3-, 4-classes, are designed where the train–test datasets are from the single, multiple, and independent sources. The obtained binary classification accuracy is 99.8% for a single train–test data source, where the accuracies fall to 98.4% and 88.7% when multiple and independent train–test data sources are utilized. Similar outcomes are noticed in multi-class categorization tasks for single, multiple, and independent data sources, highlighting the challenges in developing DL models with the existing public datasets without an independent test set from a separate dataset. Integer factorization is a significant problem, with implications for the security of widely-used cryptographic schemes. No efficient classical algorithm for polynomial-time integer factorization has been found despite extensive research. Although Peter Shor’s breakthrough quantum algorithm offers a viable solution, current limitations of noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) computers hinder its practical implementation. To address this, researchers have explored alternative methods for factorization suitable for NISQ devices. One such method is the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm, which treats factoring as an optimization problem defined over binary bits, resulting in various problematic aspects. In this paper, we explore the Func-QAOA approach for factorization, which premises overcoming some of the limitations of previous approaches and allows the incorporation of more advanced factorization techniques. After reviewing the most promising quantum implementations for integer arithmetics, we present a few illustrative examples to demonstrate the efficacy of the Func-QAOA approach and discuss methods to reduce the search space to speed up the optimization process. Wireless train communication network (WLTCN) is a promising technology for intelligent rail vehicles. It is responsible for bearer of train control services (TCS) and passenger information services (PIS), with the latter mainly referring to multimedia services. The two services have notably different quality of service (QoS) requirements from traditional telecommunication services. To realize multiple services co-existence bearer with different quality of service (QoS) requirements in a single network, we propose a radio access network (RAN) slicing framework to fully utilize the bandwidth resource within a WLTCN in this paper. Based on the characteristics of TCS and PIS, the communications models for the two services are proposed. Next, the slicing strategy problem is formulated as the system bandwidth minimization problem, and then it is transformed into an equivalent problem as the non-convexity. We proposed a dual-decomposition based bandwidth allocation (DBA) algorithm to derive the closed-form expressions for the optimal resource allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed slicing strategy enables WLTCN to meet the QoS requirements for TCS and PIS with minimal bandwidth consumption.

Organisations and users have been experiencing significant rises in cyberattacks and their severity, which means that they require a greater awareness and understanding of the anatomy of cyberattacks, to prevent and mitigate their effects. In analysing cyberattacks, there are a number of different approaches that may be used to assess their potential risks and effects. However, these are utilised in specific types of cyberattacks and their analysis, which means they cannot be applied in every situation or cyberattack. Moreover, several other factors may influence the decision to use these approaches, such as cost, complexity, skills and adaptability. As a result, continuous research to design and enhance these approaches is undertaken to produce a generic, cost-effective, easy and adaptable approach. This paper presents one such approach to assess the risk of cyberattacks utilising an attack tree and fuzzy logic. An attack tree is a systematic and illustrative method for describing an attack on a system and analysing its taxonomy and other aspects. Subsequently, the probability and risk of each leaf node in the attack tree are calculated using the proposed formulas. Finally, fuzzy logic enables decision making based on imprecise data and heuristics to obtain the overall risk of attack. This proposed approach comprises systematic steps to accomplish an assessment of any cyberattack and its associated risks in an uncomplicated and effective manner, enabling its prevention and mitigation to be determined. The paper illustrates an application of the proposed approach to assess the risk of an information theft attack on an organisation, which can then be utilised to assess the risk of other cyberattacks.

The SmartCHANGE project, a Horizon-Europe Research & Innovation project that has been ongoing since May 2023 and is scheduled to conclude in April 2027, aims to develop AI-driven decision-support tools to identify and reduce the long-term risk of non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs) in children and youth. NCDs have become a significant public health burden in developed countries, with common risk factors including obesity, low physical fitness, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. Childhood and adolescence are critical periods for establishing healthy habits, and early intervention can prevent or delay the onset of NCDs later in life. However, current tools for identifying high-risk individuals mainly focus on adults, leading to missed opportunities for early detection. The SmartCHANGE project aims to address this gap by creating trustworthy AI tools that accurately assess risk factors in children and youth and promote optimised strategies for risk reduction. The paper outlines the plan for the project from the project's proposed methodologies, including dataset utilisation, data cleaning, risk prediction models (basic and complex), and the implementation of federated learning. Additionally, it discusses user experience aspects such as participatory design, suggested applications, and the evaluation of project outcomes. © 2023 IEEE.
