Committed-programming reductions: formalizations,implications and relations

In this work, we introduce a class of black-box(BB) reductions called committed-programming reduction(CPRed) in the random oracle model(ROM) and obtain the following interesting results:(1) we demonstrate that some well-known schemes, including the full-domain hash(FDH) signature(Eurocrypt1996) and the Boneh-Franklin identity-based encryption(IBE) scheme(Crypto 2001), are provably secure under CPReds;(2) we prove that a CPRed associated with an instance-extraction algorithm implies a reduction in the quantum ROM(QROM). This unifies several recent results, including the security of the Gentry-Peikert-Vaikuntanathan IBE scheme by Zhandry(Crypto 2012) and the key encapsulation mechanism(KEM) variants using the Fujisaki-Okamoto transform by Jiang et al.(Crypto 2018) in the ***, we show that CPReds are incomparable to non-programming reductions(NPReds) and randomly-programming reductions(RPReds) formalized by Fischlin et al.(Asiacrypt 2010).

Elitist-opposition-based artificial electric field algorithm for higher-order neural network optimization and financial time series forecasting

This study attempts to accelerate the learning ability of an artificial electric field algorithm(AEFA)by attributing it with two mechanisms:elitism and opposition-based *** advances the convergence of the AEFA towards global optima by retaining the fine-tuned solutions obtained thus far,and opposition-based learning helps enhance its exploration *** new version of the AEFA,called elitist opposition leaning-based AEFA(EOAEFA),retains the properties of the basic AEFA while taking advantage of both elitism and opposition-based ***,the improved version attempts to reach optimum solutions by enabling the diversification of solutions with guaranteed ***-order neural networks(HONNs)have single-layer adjustable parameters,fast learning,a robust fault tolerance,and good approximation ability compared with multilayer neural *** consider a higher order of input signals,increased the dimensionality of inputs through functional expansion and could thus discriminate between ***,determining the number of expansion units in HONNs along with their associated parameters(i.e.,weight and threshold)is a bottleneck in the design of such ***,we used EOAEFA to design two HONNs,namely,a pi-sigma neural network and a functional link artificial neural network,called EOAEFA-PSNN and EOAEFA-FLN,respectively,in a fully automated *** proposed models were evaluated on financial time-series datasets,focusing on predicting four closing prices,four exchange rates,and three energy ***,comparative studies,and statistical tests were conducted to establish the efficacy of the proposed approach.

The cross-view matching of local image features is a fundamental task in visual localization and 3D *** study proposes FilterGNN,a transformer-based graph neural network(GNN),aiming to improve the matching efficiency and accuracy of visual *** on high matching sparseness and coarse-to-fine covisible area detection,FilterGNN utilizes cascaded optimal graph-matching filter modules to dynamically reject outlier ***,we successfully adapted linear attention in FilterGNN with post-instance normalization support,which significantly reduces the complexity of complete graph learning from O(N2)to O(N).Experiments show that FilterGNN requires only 6%of the time cost and 33.3%of the memory cost compared with SuperGlue under a large-scale input size and achieves a competitive performance in various tasks,such as pose estimation,visual localization,and sparse 3D reconstruction.

Nowadays, we are faced with a huge amount of private data generated in different ecosystems, including the Internet of Things, social networks, peer-to-peer networks, and e-commerce, to mention a few. The performance of traditional object storage and retrieval systems concerning response time is going to be degraded by a drastic increase in generated data. This problem becomes more challenging when a specific private object should be found. To address the mentioned problem, this paper suggests scalable object storage and retrieval. To do this, three well-known methods, content-addressable networks from peer-to-peer systems, vector space model from information retrieval systems, and siamese neural networks from neural networks theory, are involved in a framework to bring a scalable system to solve the mentioned problems. The suggested framework is unique to the best of our knowledge because there is no fusion among mentioned fields reported so far. A case study on signature detection is also conducted to evaluate the proposed framework. The results show that, compared to a centralized system, the proposed framework significantly decreases the response time for detecting a signature while maintaining the same accuracy. In addition, the proposed mechanism does not require the private objects to be sent to a central entity, which helps to alleviate privacy concerns. © 2023 IEEE.

The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and ubiquitous connectivity has led to uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) playing key role as edge servers, revolutionizing the wireless communications landscape by facilitating computing and caching resources closer to ground users (GUs). This advancement significantly alleviates core network loads, reduces latency, and guarantees content availability even in congested or remote areas. However, jointly optimizing UAV caching strategies and trajectories gives rise to a multi-task optimization (MTO) problem. This paper introduces a novel multi-task geo-temporal caching (MT-GTC) framework that addresses the interplay between UAV caching mechanisms and trajectory optimization in a cohesive manner. Leveraging a proposed multi-task learning (MTL) model for joint optimization of UAV caching and trajectory design, we develop a federated learning cloud-assisted knowledge distillation (FL-CAKD) scheme to preserve data privacy and adapt to data heterogeneity. FL-CAKD transfers knowledge from a cloud model orchestrator (CMO), which houses a large and sophisticated teacher model, to a lightweight on-device MTL student models using soft target distributions instead of large model parameters, significantly reducing communication costs. MT-GTC optimizes caching and trajectories to maximize cache hits and minimize latency. Evaluations on real-world mobility datasets demonstrate up to 95% cache hit rates and 21% lower delays compared to baselines. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

According to WHO reports, cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. The second most prevalent cause of cancer-related death in both men and women is colorectal cancer (CRC). One potential approach for reducing the severity of colon cancer is to utilize automatic segmentation and detection of colorectal polyps in colonoscopy videos. This technology can assist endoscopists in quickly identifying colorectal disease, leading to earlier intervention and better patient Quality of Life (QoL). In this article, we propose a self-supervised transformer based dual encoder-decoder architecture named P-SwinNet for polyps segmentation in colonoscopy images. The P-SwinNet adapts the dual encoder-decoder type of model to enhance the feature maps by sharing multiscale information from the encoder to the decoder. The proposed model uses multiple dilated convolutions to enlarge the field of view to gather more information without increasing the computational cost and the loss of spatial information. We also leverage a large-scale unlabeled dataset for training our model using the self-learning strategy of Barlow twins. Additionally, to capture the long-range dependencies in the data, we used a shift window-based approach that computes global attention. We extensively evaluate our model against state-of-the-art algorithms. The quantitative results show that the proposed P-SwinNet achieves a mean dice score of 0.87 and a mean Intersection over Union (IoU) of 0.82 on five datasets used in our study. This performance demonstrates a substantial advancement over existing similar works, highlighting the advantage and novelty of our proposed approach in the field of medical image segmentation. © 2020 IEEE.

The nonlinear filtering problem has enduringly been an active research topic in both academia and industry due to its ever-growing theoretical importance and practical *** main objective of nonlinear filtering is to infer the states of a nonlinear dynamical system of interest based on the available noisy measurements. In recent years, the advance of network communication technology has not only popularized the networked systems with apparent advantages in terms of installation,cost and maintenance, but also brought about a series of challenges to the design of nonlinear filtering algorithms, among which the communication constraint has been recognized as a dominating concern. In this context, a great number of investigations have been launched towards the networked nonlinear filtering problem with communication constraints, and many samplebased nonlinear filters have been developed to deal with the highly nonlinear and/or non-Gaussian scenarios. The aim of this paper is to provide a timely survey about the recent advances on the sample-based networked nonlinear filtering problem from the perspective of communication constraints. More specifically, we first review three important families of sample-based filtering methods known as the unscented Kalman filter, particle filter,and maximum correntropy filter. Then, the latest developments are surveyed with stress on the topics regarding incomplete/imperfect information, limited resources and cyber ***, several challenges and open problems are highlighted to shed some lights on the possible trends of future research in this realm.

Disinformation,often known as fake news,is a major issue that has received a lot of attention *** researchers have proposed effective means of detecting and addressing *** machine and deep learning based methodologies for classification/detection of fake news are content-based,network(propagation)based,or multimodal methods that combine both textual and visual *** introduce here a framework,called FNACSPM,based on sequential pattern mining(SPM),for fake news analysis and *** this framework,six publicly available datasets,containing a diverse range of fake and real news,and their combination,are first transformed into a proper ***,algorithms for SPM are applied to the transformed datasets to extract frequent patterns(and rules)of words,phrases,or linguistic *** obtained patterns capture distinctive characteristics associated with fake or real news content,providing valuable insights into the underlying structures and commonalities of ***,the discovered frequent patterns are used as features for fake news *** framework is evaluated with eight classifiers,and their performance is assessed with various *** experiments were performed and obtained results show that FNACSPM outperformed other state-of-the-art approaches for fake news classification,and that it expedites the classification task with high accuracy.
