We theoretically investigate chaotic dynamics in an optomechanical system composed of a whispering-gallery-mode(WGM)microresonator and a *** find that tuning the optical phase using a phase shifter and modifying the coupling strength via a unidirectional waveguide(IWG)can induce chaotic *** underlying reason for this phenomenon is that adjusting the phase and coupling strength via the phase shifter and IWG bring the system close to an exceptional point(EP),where field localization dynamically enhances the optomechanical nonlinearity,leading to the generation of chaotic *** addition,due to the sensitivity of chaos to phase in the vicinity of the EP,we propose a theoretical scheme to measure the optical phase perturbations using *** work may offer an alternative approach to chaos generation with current experimental technology and provide theoretical guidance for optical signal processing and chaotic secure communication.

A Data-Driven Adaptive Control Approach for Enhancing the Dynamic Response of VSGs in Varying Grid Conditions

Conventionally, a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is designed for islanded mode (IM) operation to meet specific operational requirements such as the rate of change of frequency (RoCoF). However, the operation of VSG designed for IM may not meet the operational and control criteria in grid connected mode (GCM) when the grid conditions vary. In addition, conventional VSG control technology does not consider the influence of the presynchronization scheme when connected to a weak grid, which degrades the RoCoF in IM. To overcome the aforementioned challenges, the proposed study presents a twin-delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (TD3) algorithm to improve the seamless transition performance of VSG from IM to GCM and vice versa. In the first step, the VSG-based power system model is used as a foundation for problem formulation of the proposed TD3 algorithm. Secondly, a reward function is designed according to the performance requirements, i.e., frequency and RoCoF requirements, of the VSG in order to guide the training of the agent in varying load, power reference, and grid conditions. Finally, the superiority of the proposed algorithm over existing methods is validated in MATLAB/SIMULINK and RTDS based real-time simulation environment. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Structure learning of Bayesian networks using sparrow optimization algorithm

Bayesian networks are powerful analytical models in machine learning, used to represent probabilistic relationships among variables and create learning structures. These networks are made up of parameters that show conditional probabilities and a structure that shows how random variables interact with each other. The structure is shown by a directed acyclic graph. Despite the NP-hard nature of learning Bayesian network structures, there has been significant progress in improving the accuracy of approximation solutions. The main focus is on score-based search strategies, which make use of functions to evaluate network models and identify structures with high scores. This study is significantly focused on structure learning Bayesian networks using the Bayesian Dirichlet equivalent uniform scoring function and metaheuristic search strategies. To this end, this paper presents the sparrow optimization algorithm (SOA), a new metaheuristic algorithm derived from the foraging behavior of sparrows. SOA performs a concurrent optimization in the solution space by simultaneously performing a local and global search that leads to the discovery of near-optimal structures. The results from our experiments on several benchmark datasets show that SOA yields overall better performance than SA and greedy search algorithms. In particular, it is claimed that by applying the proposed approach of SOA, the convergence speed is significantly higher compared with the existing ones;F1 score is 0.35 and 0.05 for the Hamming distance with better results. Given these results, signed operators prove to be very efficient in SOA’s Bayesian network structure learning as a concept, especially for real-world use. © (2024), (Society of Sytematic Innovation). Towards Video Anomaly Detection (VAD), existing methods require labor-intensive data collection and model retraining, making them costly and domain-specific. The proposed method, termed as Multi-modal Caption Aware Network (MCANet), introduces a novel paradigm that identifies anomalies in video sequences without requiring prior domain knowledge. This training-free VAD approach dynamically generates and analyzes textual descriptions of video frames by utilizing off-the-shelf vision-language model (VLM), audio-language model (ALM) and large language model (LLM). MCANet has four primary modules. The first module utilizes image-text similarities to clean noisy captions generated by the image captioning model, while the second module applies audio-text similarities to refine noisy captions produced by the audio captioning model. The third module employs a LLM to consolidate scene dynamics over time. Finally, the fourth module enhances the results by aggregating scores from semantically similar frames based on video-text similarity. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, experiments are conducted on two large-scale benchmark datasets (UCF-Crime and XD-Violence). Experimental results demonstrate that MCANet surpasses existing unsupervised and one-class approaches without requiring any training or data collection. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The ever-evolving Internet of Things (IoT) has ushered in a new era of intelligent manufacturing across multiple industries. However, the security and privacy of real-time data transmitted over the public channel of the industrial IoT (IIoT) remain formidable challenges. Existing lightweight protocols often omit one or more critical security features, such as anonymity and untraceability, and are susceptible to threats like desynchronization attacks. Additionally, they struggle to achieve an optimal balance between robust security and performance efficiency. To bridge these gaps, we introduce a new lightweight key agreement security scheme that guarantees secure access to the IIoT-enabled flexible manufacturing system (FMS). The strength of our scheme lies in its utilization of the authenticated encryption with associative data (AEAD) primitive, AEGIS, along with hash functions and physical unclonable functions, which secure the IIoT ecosystem. Additionally, our scheme offers flexibility in the form of the addition of new machines, password updates, and revocation in cases of theft or loss. A comprehensive security analysis demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed scheme in thwarting various attacks. The formal analysis, based on the Real-Or-Random (RoR) model, ensures session key indistinguishability, while the informal analysis highlights its resilience against known attacks. The comparative assessment demonstrate that the proposed scheme consistently outperforms the benchmark schemes across multiple dimensions, including security and functionality features, computational and communication overheads, and runtime efficiency. Specifically, the proposed scheme achieves peak performance enhancements of 77.55%, 44.73%, and 69.6% in computational overhead, runtime overhead, and communication overhead, respectively, underscoring its substantial performance advantages. © 2025 IEEE.

Faster Convergence on Heterogeneous Federated Edge Learning: An Adaptive Clustered Data Sharing Approach

Federated Edge Learning (FEL) emerges as a pioneering distributed machine learning paradigm for the 6 G Hyper-Connectivity, harnessing data from the IoT devices while upholding data privacy. However, current FEL algorithms struggle with non-independent and non-identically distributed (non-IID) data, leading to elevated communication costs and compromised model accuracy. To address these statistical imbalances, we introduce a clustered data sharing framework, mitigating data heterogeneity by selectively sharing partial data from cluster heads to trusted associates through sidelink-aided multicasting. The collective communication pattern is integral to FEL training, where both cluster formation and the efficiency of communication and computation impact training latency and accuracy simultaneously. To tackle the strictly coupled data sharing and resource optimization, we decompose the optimization problem into the clients clustering and effective data sharing subproblems. Specifically, a distribution-based adaptive clustering algorithm (DACA) is devised basing on three deductive cluster forming conditions, which ensures the maximum sharing yield. Meanwhile, we design a stochastic optimization based joint computed frequency and shared data volume optimization (JFVO) algorithm, determining the optimal resource allocation with an uncertain objective function. The experiments show that the proposed framework facilitates FEL on non-IID datasets with faster convergence rate and higher model accuracy in a resource-limited environment. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Coded Beam Training for RIS-Assisted Wireless Communications

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is considered as one of the key technologies for future 6G communications. To fully unleash the performance of RIS, accurate channel state information (CSI) is crucial. Beam training is widely utilized to acquire the CSI. However, before aligning the beam correctly to establish stable connections, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at UE is inevitably low, which reduces the beam training accuracy. To deal with this problem, we exploit the coded beam training framework for RIS systems, which leverages the error correction capability of channel coding to improve the beam training accuracy under low SNR. Specifically, we first extend the coded beam training framework to RIS systems by decoupling the base station-RIS channel and the RIS-user channel. For this framework, codewords that accurately steer to multiple angles is essential for fully unleashing the error correction capability. In order to realize effective codeword design in RIS systems, we then propose a new codeword design criterion, based on which we propose a relaxed Gerchberg-Saxton (GS) based codeword design scheme by considering the constant modulus constraints of RIS elements. In addition, considering the two dimensional structure of RIS, we further propose a dimension reduced encoder design scheme, which can not only guarentee a better beam shape, but also enable a stronger error correction capability. Simulation results reveal that the proposed scheme can realize effective and accurate beam training in low SNR scenarios. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Evaluation of Electronic Medical Certification (EMC) is integral to today's healthcare systems since they are a consolidated database of individual patients' medical histories. Security measures and privacy issues are standard in electronic medical certification. Incompatible systems make sharing data across healthcare providers difficult, which may lead to data breaches and a lack of patient authority over their medical data. Blockchain has become essential for real-world corporate applications where confidentiality of information is paramount. The handling of security in medical records through a decentralized peer-to-peer network might be revolutionized by blockchain technology and improving the protection of the interchange of healthcare records. This study proposes a lightweight flask framework-based blockchain strategy to store and display patient status and transaction log information about their disease diagnosis. In a potential Blockchain system, the diseased patients act as assets, and their records contain any prior illnesses as blocks. The report analyzes a lot of national and international EHR standards. It identifies which of these interoperability needs to be addressed, discusses the interoperability challenges in but also outlines the standards. Current blockchain-based EHR frameworks. Without the suggested has the requirement for centralized systems. By using this framework, the healthcare industry can be provided safer ways to while also providing the exchange of health information. It offers features of immutability, security, and user control over stored records. Classifying scenes and aerial imagery is a critical component in applications such as land-use analysis, land cover mapping, and remote sensing technologies. Numerous existing models leverage Convolutional Neural Networks for classification, but they often involve intricate designs with a vast number of parameters, necessitating extensive computational power and prolonged training periods. This paper introduces a refined strategy employing a pre-trained EfficientNet B0 framework. Modification of parameters and layers through careful fine-tuning has resulted in notable enhancements in the model's classification precision. The superiority of EfficientNet B0 over comparative CNN architectures was confirmed by testing with three disparate datasets, particularly within the sphere of remote sensing imagery. The EfficientNet B0's superior performance is credited to its optimal structure that strikes a balance between model complexity and efficiency. Effective fine-tuning coupled with judicious computational resource allocation yields substantial accuracy in categorization. Moreover, its adaptability to assimilate remote sensing data exemplifies its widespread applicability. This study accentuates the significance of refining prevailing deep learning models to cater to specified objectives. Tailoring pre-trained models such as EfficientNet B0 enables marked advancements in classification precision, circumventing the necessity for intricate systems or significant computational demands. This methodology is promising for elevating both the proficiency and impact of scene and aerial image classification across a range of fields, with particular implications for remote sensing endeavors. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

A Novel Lightweight IoT Intrusion Detection Model Based on Self-knowledge Distillation

The Internet of Things (IoT) environment contains many different types of devices, each with different functionalities, communication protocols, and security capabilities, which makes the IoT a complex challenge for security protection. Therefore, network intrusion detection (NID) is needed to detect intrusions in the network to secure the IoT. In recent years, deep learning-based intrusion detection systems have achieved excellent results, but they tend to require high computational resources and storage space, which is not feasible for most IoT devices. In this paper, we propose a lightweight intrusion detection model based on self-knowledge distillation, namely TBCLNN, which improves the detection accuracy while also reducing the number of model parameters and computational cost. Specifically, we use the binary Harris Hawk optimization algorithm for dimensionality reduction of traffic features. We use lightweight convolution, such as Tied Block Convolution (TBC), to design lightweight neural network models with residual and inverse residual structures. Moreover, we propose an improved self-knowledge distillation loss function to solve the sample imbalance problem and compensate for the performance degradation caused by lightweight neural networks. The multiclassification accuracy of our proposed method exceeds 99% on all three publicly available IoT datasets. The experimental results show that our method has a small model size and requires only low computational resources, making it suitable for resource-constrained IoT intrusion detection. © 2014 IEEE.
