Deep learning(DL),which includes deep reinforcement learning(DRL),holds great promise for carrying out real-world tasks that human minds seem to cope with quite *** promise is already delivering extremely impressive results in a variety of ***,while DL-enabled systems achieve excellent performance,they are far from *** has been demonstrated,in several domains,that DL systems can err when they encounter cases they had not hitherto ***,the opacity of the produced agents makes it difficult to explain their behavior and ensure that they adhere to various requirements posed by human *** the other end of the software development spectrum of methods,behavioral programming(BP) facilitates orderly system development using self-standing executable modules aligned with how humans intuitively describe desired system *** this paper,we elaborate on different approaches for combining DRL with BP and,more generally,machine learning(ML) with executable specifications(ES).We begin by defining a framework for studying the various approaches,which can also be used to study new emerging approaches not covered *** then briefly review state-of-the-art approaches to integrating ML with ES,continue with a focus on DRL,and then present the merits of integrating ML with *** conclude with guidelines on how this categorization can be used in decision making in system development,and outline future research challenges.

In the era of Big Data, information can be generated, extracted, and utilized in diverse ways. In business, information about business capabilities can be a crucial aspect in understanding the strengths and competencies of organizations. This information can empower stakeholders to make informed decisions regarding partnerships, acquisitions, and market positioning. Additionally, by comparing capabilities across companies and industries, organizations can identify their competitive advantages, industry trends, potential disruptions, and effective resource allocations, leading to improved strategies and better market opportunities. Traditional methods for extracting business capabilities primarily rely on keyword matching or rule-based techniques, which often fail to capture the complex relationships between words in a sentence. This paper presents a comprehensive study on extracting business capabilities using dependency parsing techniques in natural language processing (NLP) to overcome limitations of the traditional methods and improve the accuracy of business capability extraction. Dependency parsing utilizes pre-trained language models to analyze the grammatical structure of sentences, identifying the dependencies between words and capturing their relationships. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through experiments conducted on more than 40K real-world company descriptions crawled from Wikipedia. © 2023 IEEE.

Learning Fine-Grained information with Capsule-Wise Attention for Salient Object Detection

With the popularity of convolutional neural networks being used for salient object detection (SOD), the performance has been significantly improved. However, how to integrate crucial features for modeling salient objects needs further exploration. In this work, we propose an effective feature selection scheme to solve this task. Firstly, we provide a Simplified Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (SASPP) module to lightweight the multi-scale features. Dealing with the SASSP features, we design a pixel-level local feature selection scheme named Multi-Scale Capsule-wise Attention (MSCA). It aggregates features from multi-scales by dynamic routing and helps the network to generate fine-grained prediction maps. In addition, we exploit holistic features by the Spatial-wise Attention and Channel-wise Attention (SA/CA) mechanisms, which adaptively extracts spatial or channel information. We also propose a Multi-crossed Layer Connections (MLC) structure in the upsampling stage, to fuse features from not only different levels but also different scales. The salient object prediction is performed in a coarse-to-fine manner. By conducting comprehensive experiments on five benchmark datasets, our method achieves the best performance when compared to existing state-of-the-art approaches. IEEE

software testing is a critical phase due to misconceptions about ambiguities in the requirements during specification,which affect the testing ***,it is difficult to identify all faults in *** requirement changes continuously,it increases the irrelevancy and redundancy during *** to these challenges;fault detection capability decreases and there arises a need to improve the testing process,which is based on changes in requirements *** this research,we have developed a model to resolve testing challenges through requirement prioritization and prediction in an agile-based *** research objective is to identify the most relevant and meaningful requirements through semantic analysis for correct change *** compute the similarity of requirements through case-based reasoning,which predicted the requirements for reuse and restricted to error-based ***,the apriori algorithm mapped out requirement frequency to select relevant test cases based on frequently reused or not reused test cases to increase the fault detection ***,the proposed model was evaluated by conducting *** results showed that requirement redundancy and irrelevancy improved due to semantic analysis,which correctly predicted the requirements,increasing the fault detection rate and resulting in high user *** predicted requirements are mapped into test cases,increasing the fault detection rate after changes to achieve higher user ***,the model improves the redundancy and irrelevancy of requirements by more than 90%compared to other clustering methods and the analytical hierarchical process,achieving an 80%fault detection rate at an earlier ***,it provides guidelines for practitioners and researchers in the modern *** the future,we will provide the working prototype of this model for proof of concept.

Eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) is a fundamental yet time-consuming operation with extensive applications in IoT. When the matrix dimension reaches millions, resource-limited IoT devices struggle to perform such computationally expensive operations. Edge computing, with its plentiful computing resources, offers an effective solution to this problem. However, privacy concerns arise because outsourced tasks may contain sensitive user data. In this paper, we propose the first privacy-preserving, edge-assisted EVD outsourcing scheme that securely enables users to outsource EVD tasks to edge servers. We design a privacy-preserving matrix transformation method to encode the original data, ensuring that edge servers cannot access users' private information. Additionally, we design a verification scheme that enables the user to verify the correctness of the results returned by the edge servers. Our protocol supports parallel computation by multiple edge servers, thus enhancing the efficiency of EVD. The feasibility of our proposed scheme is demonstrated through both theoretical and experimental perspectives. © 2025 IEEE.

The conventional Close circuit television(CCTV)cameras-based surveillance and control systems require human resource *** all the criminal activities take place using weapons mostly a handheld gun,revolver,pistol,swords ***,automatic weapons detection is a vital requirement now a *** current research is concerned about the real-time detection of weapons for the surveillance cameras with an implementation of weapon detection using Efficient–*** time datasets,from local surveillance department’s test sessions are used for model training and *** consist of local environment images and videos from different type and resolution cameras that minimize the *** research also contributes in the making of Efficient-Net that is experimented and results in a positive *** results are also been represented in graphs and in calculations for the representation of results during training and results after training are also shown to represent our research ***-Net algorithm gives better results than existing *** using Efficient-Net algorithms the accuracy achieved 98.12%when epochs increase as compared to other algorithms.

Sentiment analysis, a crucial task in discerning emotional tones within the text, plays a pivotal role in understandingpublic opinion and user sentiment across diverse *** numerous scholars conduct sentiment analysisin widely spoken languages such as English, Chinese, Arabic, Roman Arabic, and more, we come to grapplingwith resource-poor languages like Urdu literature which becomes a challenge. Urdu is a uniquely crafted language,characterized by a script that amalgamates elements from diverse languages, including Arabic, Parsi, Pashtu,Turkish, Punjabi, Saraiki, and more. As Urdu literature, characterized by distinct character sets and linguisticfeatures, presents an additional hurdle due to the lack of accessible datasets, rendering sentiment analysis aformidable undertaking. The limited availability of resources has fueled increased interest among researchers,prompting a deeper exploration into Urdu sentiment analysis. This research is dedicated to Urdu languagesentiment analysis, employing sophisticated deep learning models on an extensive dataset categorized into fivelabels: Positive, Negative, Neutral, Mixed, and Ambiguous. The primary objective is to discern sentiments andemotions within the Urdu language, despite the absence of well-curated datasets. To tackle this challenge, theinitial step involves the creation of a comprehensive Urdu dataset by aggregating data from various sources such asnewspapers, articles, and socialmedia comments. Subsequent to this data collection, a thorough process of cleaningand preprocessing is implemented to ensure the quality of the data. The study leverages two well-known deeplearningmodels, namely Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), for bothtraining and evaluating sentiment analysis performance. An Improved Bi-LSTM EEG Emotion Recognition Algorithm

EEG emotion signal feature extraction is computationally intensive and the classification accuracy of the model is not high. Therefore, it can seriously affect the overall performance of classification algorithms. In order to better apply deep learning methods to EEG emotion recognition classification. To address the above problems, this paper uses the Fast Fourier Transformation algorithm to extract richer and more complete multi-channel feature information in feature extraction. At the same time, for the problem of low classification accuracy, an improved Bi-LSTM classification model is proposed. Finally, the model proposed in this paper is verified by 32-channel EEG signal data. The experimental results show that the classification method proposed improves the accuracy of Arousal to 93.35% and Valence to 93.09%. Compared with other models, the improved Bi-LSTM model has an excellent performance in EEG emotion recognition. Meanwhile, this paper explores the brain emotion mechanism by the accuracy of the improved model for different brain region channels, showing that the brain regions with the highest emotional relevance are the parietal and frontal lobes in the brain. © 2022 Taiwan Ubiquitous information CO LTD. Automated explainable and interpretable framework for anomaly detection and human activity recognition in smart homes

This paper presents a comprehensive framework for activity recognition and anomaly detection in smart home environments, targeting applications in convenience, efficiency, responsiveness, and healthcare. The proposed framework incorporates explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) to interpret feature impacts on learning models and optimize feature selection for activity recognition and anomaly detection. The study examines the recognition of two activity sets: Activities Set I, comprising 8 activities, and Activities Set II, comprising 11 activities. Various machine learning models (random forest (RF), decision tree (DT), and XGBoost (XGB)) are employed, along with an ensemble voting classifier (EVC) with these machine learning. EVC achieved 91% accuracy for Activities Set I and 90–91% accuracy for Activities Set II. The model demonstrated strong precision, recall, and F1-score across most classes. For anomaly detection, the Isolation Forest and H2O Isolation Forest Estimator algorithms are utilized to uncover irregularities in daily routines. The Isolation Forest identified anomalies in activities such as chores and desk-related tasks, while the H2O Isolation Forest Estimator detected no anomalies in either activity set. This study underscores the potential of the proposed framework to enhance smart home functionality and highlights avenues for future research and system improvements. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.
