On Differentiation Among Pilot Signals of Multiple Mobile Targets in Retro-Reflective Beamforming for Wireless Power Transmission

An experimental study is conducted on several retro-reflective beamforming schemes for wireless power transmission to multiple wireless power receivers(referred to herein as“targets”).The experimental results demonstrate that,when multiple targets broadcast continuous-wave pilot signals at respective frequencies,a retro-reflective wireless power transmitter is capable of generating multiple wireless power beams aiming at the respective targets as long as the multiple pilot signals are explicitly separated from one another by the wireless power ***,various practical complications are identified when the pilot signals of multiple targets are not appropriately differentiated from each other by the wireless power ***,when multiple pilot signals are considered to be carried by the same frequency,the wireless power transmission performance becomes heavily dependent on the interaction among the pilot signals,which is highly undesirable in *** conclusion,it is essential for a retro-reflective wireless power transmitter to explicitly discriminate multiple targets’pilot signals among each other.

Unsigned Road Incidents Detection Using Improved RESNET From Driver-View Images

Frequent road incidents cause significant physical harm and economic losses globally. The key to ensuring road safety lies in accurately perceiving surrounding road incidents. However, the highly dynamic nature of traffic introduces significant challenges, particularly in detecting sudden and temporary incidents. In this article, we propose a novel detection framework, multihead attention ResNet with dynamic bottleneck (DB_RESNET_MHA), to identify physical unsigned road incidents. Our approach introduces three key innovations. First, we develop a tailored data augmentation strategy to create images that closely mimic the complex variations found in real-world road environments. Second, we enhance model expressiveness by employing attention mechanisms to nonlinearly integrate convolutional kernels within the residual network. Furthermore, we refine the prediction head by applying spatially distinct attention weights, enabling the model to capture intricate correlations between different features more effectively. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our method, we create a dataset for unsigned road incidents (UnsignRI), comprising a total of 16 323 images that capture 12 distinct types of incidents. It stands out as the most comprehensive dataset in the field, encompassing a wide range of geographical features and incident categories. Experimental results show that DB_RESNET_MHA achieves an average accuracy of 96.2% and a f1-score of 0.955 across various categories of unsigned incidents, surpassing other models. © 2020 IEEE.

The development of the industrial Internet of Things and smart grid networks has emphasized the importance of secure smart grid communication for the future of electric power transmission. However, the current deployment of smart meters and wireless communication methods presents several security concerns that must be addressed to ensure sustainable and resilient smart grid networks for Industry 5.0, with a focus on consumer-centric technologies. In this context, we propose a privacy-focused authentication solution for secure consumer-centric demand response management in smart grid networks, incorporating consumer electronics. Our proposed protocol utilizes blockchain-based authentication to enhance resistance against potential attacks and ensure the integrity of demand response data. Additionally, we have incorporated a PUF to prevent physical attacks. We have conducted informal and formal security analyses to verify the effectiveness of our proposed protocol against various threats and to confirm the session key security. Our comparison study has demonstrated that our protocol provides superior security and added functionalities, with lower computation and communication costs compared to similar protocols. Furthermore, we have measured the computational time for implementing the blockchain component of our protocol while considering the impact of varying numbers of block additions and transactions per block. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

With the extensive penetration of distributed renewable energy and self-interested prosumers,the emerging power market tends to enable user autonomy by bottom-up control and distributed *** paper is devoted to solving the specific problems of distributed energy management and autonomous bidding and peer-to-peer(P2P)energy sharing among prosumers.A novel cloud-edge-based We-Market is presented,where the prosumers,as edge nodes with independent control,balance the electricity cost and thermal comfort by formulating a dynamic household energy management system(HEMS).Meanwhile,the autonomous bidding is initiated by prosumers via the modified Stone-Geary utility *** the cloud center,a distributed convergence bidding(CB)algorithm based on consistency criterion is developed,which promotes faster and fairer bidding through the interactive iteration with the edge ***,the proposed scheme is built on top of the commercial cloud platform with sufficiently secure and scalable computing *** results show the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed We-Market,which achieves 15%cost reduction with shorter running *** analysis indicates better scalability,which is more suitable for largerscale We-Market implementation.

Classification of Unbalanced Data Based on Bayesian Optimal Neural Network Model

Aiming at the unbalanced problem of big data classification, this paper proposes a classification method of unbalanced data on the ground of Bayesian optimal neural network model. The method firstly uses Optimized Graph Convolutional Network (OGCN) network to carry out message passing mechanism in data graph, designs neural network model with self-attention pooling and mean maximization pooling, and then uses Bayes optimization to update the posterior probability of optimization function by constantly updating the probability model and evaluating the objective function. Effectively solve the problem of speed and optimal solution of hyperparameter optimization in the neural network model. Secondly, the model is used for data set training to obtain the weight of the entire network. Secondly, the unbalanced data is mixed sampling to reduce the number of negative samples. Finally, the capability of the model was verified on the CiteSeer dataset. Experimental results showed that the accuracy rate, accuracy rate and recall rate of the proposed algorithm were 0.974, 0.982 and 0.973, respectively, which effectively improved the accuracy rate, accuracy rate and recall rate of unbalanced data classification compared with other algorithms. © 2024, Taiwan Ubiquitous information CO LTD. We propose a network service as a solution for video conference applications by constructing network layer routing strategies. Our approach takes into account the characteristics of conferencing flows, addresses various self-customized metrics, and proactively ensures a positive user experience by preventing contention. The performance of VCApather is evaluated using a fully-meshed topology with five nodes and real-world video conference traffic. The results show that VCApather is capable of achieving high link utilization and balance, while also meeting predefined user metrics. Compared to other schemes, VCApather was found to satisfy 69.8% more QoE requirement and to yield an average bitrate improvement of 1.74×. © 2024 ACM.

With technologies that have democratized the production and reproduction of information, a significant portion of daily interacted posts in social media has been infected by rumors. Despite the extensive research on rumor detection and verification, so far, the problem of calculating the spread power of rumors has not been considered. To address this research gap, the present study seeks a model to calculate the Spread Power of Rumor (SPR) as the function of content-based features in two categories: False Rumor (FR) and True Rumor (TR). For this purpose, the theory of Allport and Postman will be adopted, which it claims that importance and ambiguity are the key variables in rumor-mongering and the power of rumor. Totally 42 content features in two categories "importance" (28 features) and "ambiguity" (14 features) are introduced to compute SPR. The proposed model is evaluated on two datasets, Twitter and Telegram. The results showed that (i) the spread power of False Rumor documents is rarely more than True Rumors. (ii) there is a significant difference between the SPR means of two groups False Rumor and True Rumor. (iii) SPR as a criterion can have a positive impact on distinguishing False Rumors and True Rumors. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Strategic Pricing and Routing to Maximize Profit in Congested Roads Considering Interactions With Travelers

We introduce an innovative approach for analyzing strategic interactions in transportation networks featuring Mobility-on-Demand (MoD) services. This study focuses on achieving company-traveler equilibria, whereby a single company optimizes pricing and routing decisions to maximize profitability while considering travelers' mode choices, modeled via a multinomial logit model (MNL). Although profit maximization problems have been extensively studied in the field of revenue management across various domains, their application to transportation networks poses unique challenges, such as the influence of network topology and additional constraints (e.g., flow conservation, rebalancing, etc.). To address the inherent non-linear relationship arising from endogenous travel demand, we shift our domain space from price to market share. Subsequently, we derive prices using a direct one-toone correspondence within the MNL. This work is the first effort in leveraging such novel techniques in the context of transportation network analysis. Remarkably, the proposed reformulation results in an equivalent problem exhibiting convexity, offering computational efficiency and interpretability. By solving the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, we characterize user equilibrium with the generalized route cost, which incorporates the operating cost by rebalancing and travelers' disutility caused by congestion. Our approach is empirically validated through a numerical analysis conducted on the widely recognized Sioux Falls network. The results underscore the effectiveness and practical applicability of our method in analyzing transportation networks featuring MoD services, and open the stage for important future investigations. © 2014 IEEE.
