Detection of color images that have undergone double compression is a critical aspect of digital image *** the existence of various methods capable of detecting double Joint Photographic Experts Group(JPEG) compression,they are unable to address the issue of mixed double compression resulting from the use of different compression *** particular,the implementation of Joint Photographic Experts Group 2000(JPEG2000)as the secondary compression standard can result in a decline or complete loss of performance in existing *** tackle this challenge of JPEG+JPEG2000 compression,a detection method based on quaternion convolutional neural networks(QCNN) is *** QCNN processes the data as a quaternion,transforming the components of a traditional convolutional neural network(CNN) into a quaternion *** relationships between the color channels of the image are preserved,and the utilization of color information is ***,the method includes a feature conversion module that converts the extracted features into quaternion statistical features,thereby amplifying the evidence of double *** results indicate that the proposed QCNN-based method improves,on average,by 27% compared to existing methods in the detection of JPEG+JPEG2000 compression.

An Efficient and Fast Area Optimization Approach for Mixed Polarity Reed-Muller Logic Circuits

Area has become one of the main bottlenecks restricting the development of integrated circuits. The area optimization approaches of existing XNOR/OR-based mixed polarity Reed-Muller(MPRM) circuits have poor optimization effect and efficiency. Given that the area optimization of MPRM logic circuits is a combinatorial optimization problem, we propose a whole annealing adaptive bacterial foraging algorithm(WAA-BFA), which includes individual evolution based on Markov chain and Metropolis acceptance criteria, and individual mutation based on adaptive probability. To address the issue of low conversion efficiency in existing polarity conversion approaches, we introduce a fast polarity conversion algorithm(FPCA). Moreover, we present an MPRM circuits area optimization approach that uses the FPCA and WAA-BFA to search for the best polarity corresponding to the minimum circuits area. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MPRM circuits area optimization approach is effective and can be used as a promising EDA tool.

Leveraging the Potential of Large Language Models

This study focuses on enhancing Natural Language Processing (NLP) in generative AI chatbots through the utilization of advanced pre-trained models. We assessed five distinct Large Language Models (LLMs): TRANSFORMER MODEL, FALCON 7B, LAMINI-FLAN-T5-783M, LLAMA-2-7B, and LLAMA-2-13B to identify the most effective one. Our findings revealed that the LLAMA Model excels in comprehending user queries and delivering precise responses during conversations. The article elucidates the methodology employed to evaluate and select various models for our chatbot. Through rigorous testing, we determined that the LLAMA-2-13B model exhibits enhanced response time and accuracy. Additionally, we employed tools such as Facebook Artificial Intelligence Similarity Search (FAISS) and experimented with user interfaces like Streamlit and Chainlit to enhance the chatbot's user-friendliness. The research underscores the significance of selecting the appropriate model for crafting efficient chatbots. Ultimately, the LLAMA-13B model emerged as the standout performer, showcasing superior performance. Benchmark assessments, including HellaSwag and WinoGrande, which gauge common sense reasoning, were employed to evaluate our chatbot's capabilities. The study concludes that LLAMA-based models hold significant promise for the development of innovative and user-friendly chatbots in the future. Povzetek: Študija se osredotoča na izboljšanje obdelave naravnega jezika (NLP) v generativnih AI klepetalnicah z uporabo naprednih vnaprej usposobljenih modelov. Analizirali so pet modelov: TRANSFORMER MODEL, FALCON 7B, LAMINI-FLAN-T5-783M, LLAMA-2-7B in LLAMA-2-13B. Model LLAMA-13B se je izkazal kot najboljši z vrhunskimi rezultati na testih HellaSwag in WinoGrande. SGAN-RL: Fusion classification method for network intrusion detection based on data augmentation

Although traditional research methods for intrusion detection can effectively prevent and mitigate issues such as data leaks to avoid severe consequences, existing intrusion detection technologies encounter limitations, including low classification accuracy and high false positive rates, particularly when dealing with high-dimensional, complex network anomaly traffic data. Additionally, the common problem of class imbalance in intrusion detection datasets exacerbates these challenges. This paper introduces a novel approach to network intrusion detection classification, termed SGAN-RL, which integrates ResNet and LSTM models based on the semi-supervised generative adversarial network (SGAN) framework. This method utilizes SGAN to generate synthetic data resembling real intrusion detection data and continually trains the discriminator to produce high-quality data, thereby enhancing data distribution balance and quality. Moreover, a fusion intrusion detection classification model is presented, leveraging the strengths of ResNet and LSTM architectures to capture spatial and temporal features, respectively. This synergistic fusion enhances the model’s capacity for comprehensive data representation, resulting in improved performance in intrusion detection data classification tasks. Experiments conducted on intrusion detection datasets NSL-KDD, UNSW-NB15, and CIC-IDS2017 demonstrate that the proposed model enhances accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, ROC-AUC, PR-AUC, respectively, showcasing its robust performance and reliability in network intrusion detection classification. © 2025 – IOS Press. Sparse and Dense: Learning Confusion Representation Network for 3D Action Recognition

In the field of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), the demand for Human Action Recognition (HAR) is growing. Due to the limitations of portability and privacy of traditional sensors, many endeavors have made significant progress in 3D skeleton-based action recognition. However, existing methods ignore potential higher-order semantic information between joints and fail to perceive rapidly changing dynamic details, resulting in frequent confusion of actions with similar motion trajectories. To alleviate this issue, we propose a novel learning confusion representation network (LCR-Net). Specifically, a progressive feature enhancement module is first designed to utilize self-attention to gradually aggregate lower-order features to higher-order features, emphasizing the relative movement between body parts. Second, we design the enhanced spatiotemporal convolution to explore the potential spatio-temporal dependencies between joints by adding a mask matrix and an attention fusion mechanism. To further perceive the spatiotemporal relationships in subtle changes, we divide the interactive sparse-dense pathways at different spatio-temporal resolutions and enhance the complementary information between the two pathways through feature interaction. Finally, the frequency excitation learning module is proposed to efficiently learn the importance of different frequencies by cross-channel modeling, promoting the compactness of actions within classes and the separability of confusion actions. In addition, the lightweight LCR-Net+ is achieved through model compression optimization to meet the deployment requirements of IoT systems. Comprehensive experiments conducted on three public datasets (NTU-RGB+ D60&120, NW-UCLA) demonstrate the superior performance of our model. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.
