Video transmission in wireless network poses several challenges such as latency, delayed throughput, slow convergence rate, high error rates, packet losses and many others which make it impossible for users to enjoy Quality of Service (QoS). Video in wireless network presents additional challenges due to unavailability of needed bandwidth. Bandwidth in any organization is a limited resource that is being competed for by the different users. Efficient and effective bandwidth allocation is a vital role in satisfying the QoS requirements for multimedia applications such as video streaming. This research work examined conventional and current techniques for bandwidth optimization. For better bandwidth use, conventional bandwidth allocation techniques are gradually being replaced with optimization algorithms using Genetic Algorithm (GA), Bat Algorithm (BA), Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), Tabu Search (TS), Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and so on. This work specifically addressed bandwidth challenges using hybrid algorithms of PSO+TS algorithms in optimizing the bandwidth allocation of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. The PSO algorithm explores bandwidth by giving high priority to video traffic and low priority to other types of traffic (data traffic) while the TS algorithm exploits the bandwidth. The results were evaluated using CPU time and Worst Case Time Complexity of the algorithms. Results showed that with the proposed system, PSO+TS algorithm outperformed other individual algorithms of PSO and TS. Video traffics depending on resolution had higher priority levels and were assigned higher bandwidth while data traffic were assigned low bandwidth and as such video users will be able to stream conveniently with good QoS. © 2024 IEEE.

INNSE: Invertible neural network-based DNA image storage with self-correction encoding

DNA storage has become an alternative to silicon-based storage of media. However, when used to store multimodal data such as images, it fails to take full advantage of the characteristics of high correlation and variability present in such data, and currently remains inferior in terms of encoding density and time complexity. It also has the shortcoming of weak performance in terms of error correction methods to address insertion and deletion errors caused by error crosstalk. Therefore, we proposed an invertible neural network-based DNA image storage self-correction encoding method (INNSE) that uses the invertibility of network to perform up-down sampling processing on image and video data, thereby greatly reducing the number of DNA sequences required for data storage. A codebook generator was then designed to encode low-dimensional vectors into DNA sequences that meet various constraints. Finally, a self-correction method was constructed to achieve DNA sequence error correction at the base level without adding any redundant information. Our experimental results showed that, compared to the Yin-Yang algorithm, the encoding density of INNSE was increased by 3×, encoding time complexity was reduced by 95.26%. Under a simulated error rate of 2%, PSNR and SSIM were raised by 80.88% and 63.82%, respectively, proving that INNSE has significant advantages in encoding performance and error correction ability. © 2025

To enhance the privacy of messages in Internet of Vehicles (IoVs), it is critical to preserve the communication security between Road Side Unit (RSU) and numerous vehicles. The primitive of signcryption is introduced to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity and unforgeability of transmitted messages. Nevertheless, the existing signcryption schemes fail to achieve a balance between security and efficiency. In this paper, we construct a Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) empowered certificateless aggregate signcryption scheme with key agreement (CASKA-CRT). As the vehicle joins and leaves dynamically, the proposed scheme can ensure the dynamic security via one modulo division operation. Besides, the certificateless aggregate signcryption and key agreement mechanisms are embedded. The former idea can both address the certificate management and key escrow problems, while the latter technology can create authentication as a premise of secure communication. Based on this construction, the hash-to-group operation and bilinear pairing are avoided, to realize a faster verification with the increased number of messages. Moreover, the security of proposed scheme is proved under the random oracle model. Finally, the performance analysis demonstrates the advantage of CASKA-CRT in terms of security and reliability over related works. IEEE

Multimodal fake news detection aims to automatically identify real or fake news, thereby mitigating the adverse effects caused by such misinformation. Although prevailing approaches have demonstrated their effectiveness, challenges persist in cross-modal feature fusion and refinement for classification. To address this, we present a residual-aware compensation network with multi-granularity constraints (RaCMC) for fake news detection, that aims to sufficiently interact and fuse cross-modal features while amplifying the differences between real and fake news. First, a multiscale residual-aware compensation module is designed to interact and fuse features at different scales, and ensure both the consistency and exclusivity of feature interaction, thus acquiring high-quality features. Second, a multi-granularity constraints module is implemented to limit the distribution of both the news overall and the image-text pairs within the news, thus amplifying the differences between real and fake news at the news and feature levels. Finally, a dominant feature fusion reasoning module is developed to comprehensively evaluate news authenticity from the perspectives of both consistency and inconsistency. Experiments on three public datasets, including Weibo17, Politifact and GossipCop, reveal the superiority of the proposed method. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Fair clustering problems have been paid lots of attention recently. In this paper, we study the k-Center problem under the group fairness and data summarization fairness constraints, denoted as Group Fair k-Center (GFkC) and Data Summarization Fair k-Center (DSFkC), respectively, in the massively parallel computational (MPC) distributed model. The previous best results for the above two problems in the MPC model are a 9-approximation with violation 7 (WWW 2022) and a (17 + ∊)-approximation without fairness violation (ICML 2020), respectively. In this paper, we obtain a (3 + ∊)- approximation with violation 1 for the GFkC problem in the MPC model, which is almost as accurate as the best known approximation ratio 3 with violation 1 for the sequential algorithm of the GFkC problem. Moreover, for the DSFkC problem in the MPC model, we obtain a (4 + ∊)-approximation without fairness violation, which is very close to the best known approximation ratio 3 for the sequential algorithm of the DSFkC problem. Empirical experiments show that our distributed algorithms perform better than existing state-of-the-art distributed methods for the above two problems. © 2024 International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems.

Multimodal aspect-oriented sentiment classification (MABSC) task has garnered significant attention, which aims to identify the sentiment polarities of aspects by combining both language and vision information. However, the limited multimodal data in this task has become a big gap for the vision-language multimodal fusion. While large-scale vision-language pretrained models have been adapted to multiple tasks, their use for MABSC task is still in a nascent stage. In this work, we present an attempt to use the instruction tuning paradigm to MABSC task and leverage the ability of large vision-language models to alleviate the limitation in the fusion of textual and image modalities. To tackle the problem of potential irrelevance between aspects and images, we propose a plug-and-play selector to autonomously choose the most appropriate instruction from the instruction pool, thereby reducing the impact of irrelevant image noise on the final sentiment classification results. We conduct extensive experiments in various scenarios and our model achieves state-of-the-art performance on benchmark datasets, as well as in few-shot settings. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

The unipolar photocurrent in conventional photodiodes(PDs)based on photovoltaic effect limits the output modes and potential versatility of these devices in *** photodiodes with photocurrent switching are emerging as a promising solution for obtaining photoelectric devices with unique and attractive functions,such as optical logic ***,we design an all-solid-state chip-scale ultraviolet(UV)PD based on a hybrid GaN heterojunction with engineered bipolar polarized electric *** introducing the polarization-induced photocurrent switching effect,the photocurrent direction can be switched in response to the wavelength of incident light at 0 V *** particular,the photocurrent direction exhibits negative when the irradiation wavelength is less than 315 nm,but positive when the wavelength is longer than 315 *** device shows a responsivity of up to−6.7 mA/W at 300 nm and 5.3 mA/W at 340 nm,*** particular,three special logic gates in response to different dual UV light inputs are demonstrated via a single bipolar PD,which may be beneficial for future multifunctional UV photonic integrated devices and systems.

The continuous increasing usage of internet devices in many areas of human life is continuously growing and demanding a proper method to protect these IoT devices from cyber-attacks and vulnerabilities. In this aspect, deep learning neural networks are a very helpful and beneficial method to provide protection to internet devices in many aspects. This study's objective is to systematically research and examine the background of research about neural networks tactics functional to different internet-based devices' safety use-cases. We put the influences we looked at into many different groups to show where this research is lacking. This particular research or findings mainly captures the articles related to 'Deep neural networks', 'Cyber risks' and 'IOT' in four databanks, namely science Direct, ACM Digital Library, IEEEXplore and Springer Link. These studies concern 3 main studies, which involve safety aspects, their own Deep Learning network designs, and the occupied datasets. The final round is to find out the loopholes to be examined in the future and vulnerabilities and drawbacks in the IoT security scenario. © 2023 IEEE.
