A novel deep learning approach for investigating liquid fuel injection in combustion system

The intricacies and instability of introducing cryogenic propellants into the combustion system have piqued the curiosity of scientists studying the procedure. The latest innovation is utilizing data-driven machine learning and deep learning approaches to gain deeper insights into the related difficulties. However, the current work serves as a baseline for future research because relatively few studies have used data-driven methodologies to assess the temperature of liquid fuel injections in combustion systems. The performance of Linear Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), Extra Trees Regressor (ETR), Polynomial Regression (PR), Support Vector Regressor (SVR), Decision Tree Regressor (DTR), Gradient Boost Regressor (GBR), XGB Regressor (XGBoost), AdaBoost Regressor (ABR), K-Neighbors Regressor (KNR), Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), Bi-LSTM (Bi-directional Long-Short Term Memory) has all been investigated in this study. The study also suggested a Fully Connected Neural Network (FCNN) to examine its performance and paired it with an Extra Tree Regressor (ETR). The coupled FCNN and Extra Tree Regressor outperform the other algorithms with a Mean Square Error (MSE) of 0.0000005062, Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.00071148, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.00020672, and R-squared (R2) value of 0.99998689. Linear Regression, Polynomial Regression, and Support Vector Regressor are found to be the least-performing algorithms. The current work uses machine learning and deep learning methods to make data-driven decisions for liquid fuel injection in the combustion system. © The Author(s) 2025.

The data in the blockchain cannot be tampered with and the users are anonymous,which enables the blockchain to be a natural carrier for covert ***,the existing methods of covert communication in blockchain suffer from the predefined channel structure,the capacity of a single transaction is not high,and the fixed transaction behaviors will lower the concealment of the communication ***,this paper proposes a derivation matrix-based covert communication method in *** uses dual-key to derive two types of blockchain addresses and then constructs an address matrix by dividing addresses into multiple layers to make full use of the redundancy of ***,to solve the problem of the lack of concealment caused by the fixed transaction behaviors,divide the rectangular matrix into square blocks with overlapping regions and then encrypt different blocks sequentially to make the transaction behaviors of the channel addresses match better with those of the real ***,the linear congruence algorithm is used to generate random sequence,which provides a random order for blocks encryption,and thus enhances the security of the encryption *** results show that this method can effectively reduce the abnormal transaction behaviors of addresses while ensuring the channel transmission efficiency.

Anomaly detection from medical images is badly needed for automated diagnosis. For example, medical images obtained with several modalities, such as magnetic resonance (MR) and confocal microscopy, need to be classified for anomaly detection. The MR images may contain tumors that need to be detected with anomaly detection techniques. In MR imaging, brain tumors are represented as areas composed of abnormal cells that need to be detected. On the other hand, confocal microscopy can be used for retinal imaging. Hence, there is a need to apply classification techniques for diagnosing diseases of the eye, such as Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), which leads to exudates in different regions of the retina. The detection of exudates is necessary for the diagnosis of DR. In this paper, two models are presented for the classification of MR and retinal images. Much research has been done in this area, but it did not achieve high accuracy of classification in an acceptable time. In addition, the previous models did not consider both types of image modalities considered in this paper. The suggested models are Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (Conv-LSTM). They are used to classify normal and abnormal cases of both brain tumor and DR diseases. The CNN model is composed of six convolutional layers and six max-pooling layers. A soft-max activation function takes the classification decision. The proposed Conv-LSTM model is composed of three stages: pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. The deep learning model performance is better than those of traditional networks. The CNN gives an accuracy of 94.26% for DR classification and 95.8% for brain tumor classification, while the Conv-LSTM gives the maximum accuracy of 96.41% for DR classification and 97.4% for brain tumor classification. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

This paper presents an emergency response management system to tackle the problem of the absence of network connectivity during the time of a natural disaster. Network connectivity is often enabled by the base stations on the ground. However, during the time of the disaster, the connectivity is disrupted due to the base station being damaged. During such scenarios, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) based stations could help in partially providing the network connectivity and help in the rescue operations. But, the UAVs need to be quickly deployed and placed at a suitable location based on the population coverage and base stations being impacted due to the disruptions. In this paper, we propose the Self Organizing Map (SOM) based optimal UAV deployment to enhance the network coverage, and increase the percentage of people having network access. In contrast to other Artificial Intelligence-based approaches, like Deep Neural Networks, our method does not require to be heavily trained using train and the test dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis plays a crucial role in natural language processing, particularly in evaluating user comments and extracting valuable insights for classification tasks. This analysis can significantly impact customer satisfaction and influence a company's future development. In our study, we focused on feedback from restaurants in Tashkent, collected via Google Maps. We constructed a dataset that reflects user sentiments and applied logistic regression models for analysis. Through our evaluation, we found that proper preprocessing steps, such as stemming-especially important for agglutinative languages like Uzbek-greatly enhance model performance. These steps help in reducing words to their root forms, allowing the model to better understand the underlying sentiments. Our best-performing model achieved an impressive accuracy of 91%, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach. The results highlight the importance of sentiment analysis in the restaurant industry, providing actionable insights that can help businesses improve their services and customer experiences. By leveraging user feedback, companies can make informed decisions that foster growth and enhance customer loyalty. Overall, our research underscores the potential of sentiment analysis in driving business success through careful data handling and analysis techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Uplink control information (UCI) and discontinuous reception (DRX) play important roles for massive machine type communication (mMTC). Despite their standalone significance, a conspicuous gap exists in comprehensively exploring the synergy between UCI and DRX concerning both energy conservation and latency reduction for mMTC. In this letter, we propose a UCI-based clustered access and DRX management (UCADM) scheme that strikes a balance between these two critical performance metrics, reducing energy usage while preserving low latency in uplink-downlink interaction for mMTC. Specifically, we present a strictly feasible solution for the proposed UCADM scheme by using the spectral radius and the constraint projection, which can effectively solve DRX switching operations as indicated by scheduling information from UCI. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our scheme. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

Mental illness is a considerable global public health problem, impacting both individual well-being and society's health. The growing popularity of social media and the increase of other data sources led to more research interest in detecting mental illness with a particular focus on utilizing and fusing emotional information. Artificial intelligence techniques like natural language processing and others, have shown encouraging improvements in recognizing complex relationships in a wide range of textual data, including clinical notes, social media posts, and interviews. In this paper, we assess the different branches of artificial intelligence based on previous research in mental illness detection, discussing methods, trends, challenges, and future research directions. © 2024 IEEE.

Forecasting financial performance metrics plays a pivotal role in guiding decision-making processes for the management, investors, creditors, regulators and other stakeholders of every business entity. Multiple linear regression is a widely used popular method to forecast financial performance metrics. But multiple linear regression fails to capture the interrelationships and correlations among various factors influencing financial performance metrics. It’s a notable limitation of multiple linear regression. In this research paper, we have proposed a graph permanent based technique named networked regression that integrates graph theory with regression analysis to model the dynamic relationships among the explanatory variables and to offer a more comprehensive understanding of their collective impact on the response variable. We demonstrate that networked regression, when combined with multiple linear regression, can offer more comprehensive insights and predictive capability. Thus by integrating graph theoretic concepts in regression analysis, our proposed approach contributes to advancing the field of financial performance forecasting in dynamic financial environments. In this research work, we have conducted experiments on the financial datasets of various companies like PepsiCo, P&G and Nestlé. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
