Human life is the most important asset of human beings. Every year millions of people lose their lives to cardiovascular diseases. It is a group of diseases related to blood vessels and the heart. The chances of developing cardiovascular diseases in a person can be controlled by reducing some risk factors that cause them. If they are predicted timely in patients, the patients can take decisions and make changes to their lifestyles, and consequently reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. The proposed model gave very promising results. It has proven to be very efficient in predicting cardiovascular disease in a person using the Gradient Boosting Tree algorithm. The model had 78.78%, 76.78%, 81.10%, 82.43%, and 18.90% accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, miss rate, and precision, respectively. Moreover, the fallout, LR+, LR-, and NPV were 18.90%, 4.06, 3.82, and 75.16% respectively. The classification time was 13 milliseconds per record and the detection time was approximately 0.2137 seconds per record. The proposed model also outperformed various well-known machine learning algorithms and state-of-the-art models. © 2023 IEEE.

Twitter (now X) has been gaining popularity with each passing day since its inception in 2006. People have been using Twitter as an instant repository to collect data and gain insight into folks' minds on trending issues. Although Twitter allows access to its data through streaming and rest APIs, extracting the required data is difficult. The data (tweet) returned by Twitter is in json format, having at least 26 fields. Each field is bundled in the dictionary form data structure. tweet metadata such as tweet 'likes' and 'retweets' increase the volume and complexity of a tweet, making data extraction in a cleaner format more difficult. This work aims to develop an effective two-step tweet extractor (Xtractor: an online-offline keyword-based Twitter data extractor). In the first step, Xtractor collects publicly available topical tweets using keywords, hashtags, or their list on the fly, parses all the tweet fields, and filters them to retain potential field contents without additional payload. The second step of the Xtractor evicts partially matching tweets using the regular expression method to acquire the targeted domain-specific tweets. Using the proposed two-step Twitter data extraction method, datasets concerning the people of Pakistan have been collected, which can be leveraged to get insight for decision-making, specially in the context of sentiment analysis. We found this method efficient, capacitive, and productive. © 2024 IEEE.

At present, there is a huge trend in the industry for power converters that have the ability to reach a high efficiency at high switching frequencies. General power converters have switching losses which act as a barrier in terms of efficiency while designing high-frequency converters. As a solution for this, soft switching techniques come into play by integrating a resonant circuit into the traditional power converter. These resonant converters give the ability of the power converters to operate in high frequencies without switching losses. Also in electric vehicles as well as wireless charging, the switching frequency can be increased to a higher level without the switching losses using these converters. Furthermore, it can be used in bi-directional converters with MOSFETs like SiC and GaN. An analytical review of the advanced resonant converter design topologies is discussed in this paper based on three main designs for auxiliary-based circuits. Finally, a comparative analysis is conducted using the various converter parameters. This analysis will be a huge benefit for the power electronics circuit design area to select the most suitable type of circuit for the application. © 2023 IEEE.

High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) motors have the potential to enable the electrification of large scale transport, including freight, aviation, and shipping. It has been shown in previous work that cryogenically cooled power electronics used in conjuction with an HTS motor may further boost the power density and efficiency of the powertrain. However, all known cryogenic characterisations of GaN based power electronic converters to date have not gone below 77 K, apart from single device characterisations and converters using Si MOSFETs. In this paper the performance of a GaN based buck converter is measured at cryogenic temperatures while attached to a coldhead which operates at 40 K. The results show that the GaN based converter under test is robust and can operate under a wide range of conditions, which is critical for future applications involving HTS motors. © 2023 IEEE.

Integration of renewable energy sources (RES) (i.e., solar or wind power plant) has introduced significant changes in conventional power systems. RESs use power electronic converters at the grid interface and are electrically decoupled from the grid. The reliability and stability of such systems has become significantfactors and requires advanced controllers for their frequency stability. The inertia of the traditional power systems originally depended on the rotating inertia but with the introduction of RESs, the power system's inertia decreased considerably with subsequent consequences. Thus, new approaches such as the use of synthetic or virtual inertia are required to add RESs to the grid. This paper reviews the significance of virtual inertia and suitable control strategies to provide inertia stability under the high penetration of RESs in power systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Sleep paralysis is when you're awake but powerless to move. Although the majority of occurrences are linked to extreme terror and some potentially clinically significant sufferings are connected with the case;little is known about it. The present state of research on the connection between sleep paralysis and overall sleep will be examined in this study. Several studies have linked an increased risk of sleep paralysis to low-quality sleep. This could occur in between sleeping and waking. The issue is tackled in the context of sleep paralysis prediction using machine learning. There are multiple attributes in the dataset (label Data). Every exam has a unique set of characteristics and expected results. We carried out an accuracy test of posture recognition by the system to evaluate its validity. Predicting sleep paralysis has been done using machine learning techniques. A comparison of sleeping positions with the findings indicated a correlation between paralysis and poor quality of sleep. Poor sleep quality is correlated with sleep paralysis. In the provided dataset, the Random Forest model predicts sleep paralysis with the highest accuracy 92.3%, K-nearest neighbors' classifier has an accuracy rate of 91.0% 91.9%, and 90.4% using Decision Tree and naïve Bayes. © 2024 IEEE.

Transfer learning is the ability to transfer knowledge from one context to another. This paper investigates, for the first time, the possibility of transfer learning on Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS). We use distributed parallel MCTS to construct game-playing models for one variant of chess and then transfer these models to another domain to play a different variant of chess. We also introduce a novel pruning mechanism for MCTS to cope with memory requirements of large game trees. Our results show that positive transfer learning in MCTS is possible, and in our case, highly successful. Transferred models significantly outperform models that have to be trained from scratch. © 2023 IEEE.

software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Blockchain (BC) are transformative technologies reshaping network management and security, utilizing their synergies. SDN's centralized control enhances flexibility and efficiency but introduces vulnerabilities due to its single point of control. With its decentralized and immutable ledger, BC offers a solution by distributing control and providing a tamper-proof audit trail. This paper integrates these technologies to address blackhole attacks - a critical vulnerability where compromised SDN controllers disrupt network performance. We propose Blockchain-Enhanced SDN for Adaptive Path Finding (BeS4APF) algorithm against blackhole attacks in the multidomain SDNs. The algorithm maintains a high Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) by dynamically adjusting network paths in response to node failures. The BeS4APF algorithm presented effectively maintains a high PDR by dynamically adjusting paths in response to node failures. The methodology involves monitoring the network, detecting compromised nodes, and recalculating optimal paths using Dijkstra's algorithm and node-disjoint path selection. Experiments with synthetic networks of varying sizes (from 60 to 120 domains) demonstrate that the algorithm successfully handles domain-compromising node attacks, maintaining high PDR even with increasing stochastic disruptions. Our preliminary results show that, while PDR slightly deviates and recovers in smaller networks, it stabilizes towards almost 100% in larger networks after initial adjustments. This work advances the integration of SDN and BC, offering a robust approach to securing modern networks against evolving stochastic attack scenarios and threats. © 2024 IEEE.

Rapid printed circuit board (PCB) development for modular battery management systems (BMS) can provide a flexible, scalable, and customizable solution for all lithium-ion battery-powered devices as well as in research and development. Therefore, to satisfy the increasing demand and stringent requirements of high performance, low cost, and smaller footprints, a single-stage PCB development technique using a CO2 laser, galvo scanner, and two-axis computer numerical control (CNC) router is proposed in this paper. The system can selectively cut/erode between the copper or substrate layers with only a single active laser by controlling the intensity of the laser beam. The proposed method circumvents the fabrication of a negative and the chemical processing steps of PCB manufacturing, resulting in higher production speed at a reduced cost. The technique is also environmentally friendly and suitable for small-batch production to support small industries and research. The superiority of the proposed method is also demonstrated by a comparison between the proposed and a high-density fiber laser-based method. © 2023 IEEE.

Road accidents have become a problem for many road users in many countries. It may affect human daily activity and tasks, potentially influencing productivity and safety. Therefore, reducing road accidents as swiftly and effectively as possible is critical. For this reason, a Traffic signs detection system has been developed in this work to improve road safety. The detection system can detect traffic signs on the road such as traffic lights, speed limits, and no U-turn signs, and then it will provide users with the corresponding text on an LCD and vibration feedback using a motor. Throughout this work, the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm is proposed for detecting traffic signs on the road. Moreover, a camera is used to extract live videos which serve as an input for the Raspberry Pi 4 model B containing custom YOLOv5 and YOLOv8 models. The system then sends the output to an LCD, a vibration motor, and a radio frequency (RF) module as notifications for users. In the end, the performance of the proposed method has been collected and it is found to produce good accuracy within an inconsiderable amount of 1.677 images and 2.263 annotations. Therefore, the accuracy of 0.69 for YOLOv5 and 0.7 for YOLOv8 were obtained from the training and validation process. Furthermore, the system accurately detects the traffic signs on the road. © 2024 IEEE.
