The most salient argument that needs to be addressed universally is Early Breast Cancer Detection(EBCD),which helps people live longer *** computer-Aided Detection(CADs)/computer-Aided Diagnosis(CADx)sys-tem is indeed a software automation tool developed to assist the health profes-sions in Breast Cancer Detection and Diagnosis(BCDD)and minimise mortality by the use of medical histopathological image classification in much less *** paper purposes of examining the accuracy of the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN),which can be used to perceive breast malignancies for initial breast cancer detection to determine which strategy is efficient for the early iden-tification of breast cell malignancies formation of masses and Breast microcalci-fications on the *** we have insufficient data for a new domain that is desired to be handled by a pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network of Residual Network(ResNet50)for Breast Cancer Detection and Diagnosis,to obtain the Discriminative Localization,Convolutional Neural Network with Class Activation Map(CAM)has also been used to perform breast microcalcifications detection tofind a specific class in the Histopathological *** test results indicate that this method performed almost 225.15%better at determining the exact location of disease(Discriminative Localization)through breast microcalci-fications ***50 seems to have the highest level of accuracy for images of Benign Tumour(BT)/Malignant Tumour(MT)cases at 97.11%.ResNet50’s average accuracy for pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network is 94.17%.

We present a third version of the PraK system designed around an effective text-image and image-image search model. The system integrates sub-image search options for localized context search for CLIP and image color/texture and interfaces tailored to specific task types. A user study shows the benefits of sub-image search in homogeneous video collections. With technologies that have democratized the production and reproduction of information, a significant portion of daily interacted posts in social media has been infected by rumors. Despite the extensive research on rumor detection and verification, so far, the problem of calculating the spread power of rumors has not been considered. To address this research gap, the present study seeks a model to calculate the Spread Power of Rumor (SPR) as the function of content-based features in two categories: False Rumor (FR) and True Rumor (TR). For this purpose, the theory of Allport and Postman will be adopted, which it claims that importance and ambiguity are the key variables in rumor-mongering and the power of rumor. Totally 42 content features in two categories "importance" (28 features) and "ambiguity" (14 features) are introduced to compute SPR. The proposed model is evaluated on two datasets, Twitter and Telegram. The results showed that (i) the spread power of False Rumor documents is rarely more than True Rumors. (ii) there is a significant difference between the SPR means of two groups False Rumor and True Rumor. (iii) SPR as a criterion can have a positive impact on distinguishing False Rumors and True Rumors. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

We investigate prophet inequalities with competitive ratios approaching 1, seeking to generalize k-uniform matroids. We first show that large girth does not suffice: for all k, there exists a matroid of girth ≥ k and a prophet inequality instance on that matroid whose optimal competitive ratio is12. Next, we show k-fold matroid unions do suffice: we provide a prophet inequality with competitive ratio (Formula presented) for any k-fold matroid union. Our prophet inequality follows from an online contention resolution scheme. The key technical ingredient in our online contention resolution scheme is a novel bicriterion concentration inequality for arbitrary monotone 1-Lipschitz functions over independent items which may be of independent interest. Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

We propose a scalable, hierarchical qubit mapping and routing algorithm that harnesses the power of circuit synthesis. First, we decompose large circuits into subcircuits small enough to be directly resynthesized. For each block, we pre-synthesize them for all permutations of its input and output qubits. Following this offline step, we employ a permutation-aware, block-based generalization of the popular SABRE mapping algorithm. This mapping step stitches together blocks by choosing an input-output permutation that minimizes intrablock gate count and required inter-block communication (SWAP and bridge gates). Our approach has a twofold advantage: 1) circuit synthesis may eliminate more two-qubit gates than other optimizing compilers;2) considering all permutations of input and output qubits eliminates communication operations transparently. In contrast, other mapping algorithms can only introduce communication operations. We show that we can produce better-quality circuits than commercial compilers: shorter by up to 68% (18% on average) fewer gates than Qiskit, up to 36% (9% on average) fewer gates than Tket. We outperform BQSkit, a permutation-unaware, synthesis-based compiler, by up to 67% (21% on average) fewer gates. We also exceed experimental optimal mappers such as OLSQ in quality (10.7% shorter circuits) and time to solution. Our scalable, heuristic approach can be seamlessly integrated into any quantum circuit compiler or optimization infrastructure, and it applies well to any qubit technology, such as superconducting and trapped ions. © 2023 IEEE.

Privacy engineering in the Wild: Understanding the Practitioners' Mindset, Organizational Aspects, and Current Practices

Privacy engineering, as an emerging field of research and practice, comprises the technical capabilities and management processes needed to implement, deploy, and operate privacy features and controls in working systems. For that, software practitioners and other stakeholders in software companies need to work cooperatively toward building privacy-preserving businesses and engineering solutions. Significant research has been done to understand the software practitioners' perceptions of information privacy, but more emphasis should be given to the uptake of concrete privacy engineering components. This research delves into the software practitioners' perspectives and mindset, organizational aspects, and current practices on privacy and its engineering processes. A total of 30 practitioners from nine countries and backgrounds were interviewed, sharing their experiences and voicing their opinions on a broad range of privacy topics. The thematic analysis methodology was adopted to code the interview data qualitatively and construct a rich and nuanced thematic framework. As a result, we identified three critical interconnected themes that compose our thematic framework for privacy engineering 'in the wild': (1) personal privacy mindset and stance, categorised into practitioners' privacy knowledge, attitudes and behaviours;(2) organizational privacy aspects, such as decision-power and positive and negative examples of privacy climate;and, (3) privacy engineering practices, such as procedures and controls concretely used in the industry. Among the main findings, this study provides many insights about the state-of-the-practice of privacy engineering, pointing to a positive influence of privacy laws (e.g., EU General Data Protection Regulation) on practitioners' behaviours and organizations' cultures.
