Disinformation,often known as fake news,is a major issue that has received a lot of attention *** researchers have proposed effective means of detecting and addressing *** machine and deep learning based methodologies for classification/detection of fake news are content-based,network(propagation)based,or multimodal methods that combine both textual and visual *** introduce here a framework,called FNACSPM,based on sequential pattern mining(SPM),for fake news analysis and *** this framework,six publicly available datasets,containing a diverse range of fake and real news,and their combination,are first transformed into a proper ***,algorithms for SPM are applied to the transformed datasets to extract frequent patterns(and rules)of words,phrases,or linguistic *** obtained patterns capture distinctive characteristics associated with fake or real news content,providing valuable insights into the underlying structures and commonalities of ***,the discovered frequent patterns are used as features for fake news *** framework is evaluated with eight classifiers,and their performance is assessed with various *** experiments were performed and obtained results show that FNACSPM outperformed other state-of-the-art approaches for fake news classification,and that it expedites the classification task with high accuracy.

This paper designs an epidemic prevention and control mask wearing detection system based on STM32, which is used to monitor the situation of people wearing masks. Tiny-YOLO detection algorithm is adopted in the system, combined with image recognition technology, and two kinds of image data with and without masks are used for network training. Then, the trained model can be used to carry out real-time automatic supervision on the wearing of masks in the surveillance video. When the wrong wearing or not wearing masks are detected, the buzzer will send an alarm, so as to effectively monitor the wearing of masks and remind relevant personnel to wear masks correctly. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Underwater wireless sensor networks(UWSNs)rely on data aggregation to streamline routing operations by merging information at intermediate nodes before transmitting it to the ***,many existing data aggregation techniques are designed exclusively for static networks and fail to reflect the dynamic nature of underwater ***,conventional multi-hop data gathering techniques often lead to energy depletion problems near the sink,commonly known as the energy hole ***,cluster-based aggregation methods face significant challenges such as cluster head(CH)failures and collisions within clusters that degrade overall network *** address these limitations,this paper introduces an innovative framework,the Cluster-based Data Aggregation using Fuzzy Decision Model(CDAFDM),tailored for mobile *** proposed method has four main phases:clustering,CH selection,data aggregation,and *** CH selection,a fuzzy decision model is utilized to ensure efficient cluster head selection based on parameters such as residual energy,distance to the sink,and data delivery likelihood,enhancing network stability and energy *** the aggregation phase,CHs transmit a single,consolidated set of non-redundant data to the base station(BS),thereby reducing data duplication and saving *** adapt to the changing network topology,the re-clustering phase periodically updates cluster formations and reselects *** results show that CDAFDM outperforms current protocols such as CAPTAIN(Collection Algorithm for underwater oPTical-AcoustIc sensor Networks),EDDG(Event-Driven Data Gathering),and DCBMEC(Data Collection Based on Mobile Edge Computing)with a packet delivery ratio increase of up to 4%,an energy consumption reduction of 18%,and a data collection latency reduction of 52%.These findings highlight the framework’s potential for reliable and energy-efficient data aggregation mobile UWSNs.

Sleep paralysis is when you're awake but powerless to move. Although the majority of occurrences are linked to extreme terror and some potentially clinically significant sufferings are connected with the case;little is known about it. The present state of research on the connection between sleep paralysis and overall sleep will be examined in this study. Several studies have linked an increased risk of sleep paralysis to low-quality sleep. This could occur in between sleeping and waking. The issue is tackled in the context of sleep paralysis prediction using machine learning. There are multiple attributes in the dataset (label Data). Every exam has a unique set of characteristics and expected results. We carried out an accuracy test of posture recognition by the system to evaluate its validity. Predicting sleep paralysis has been done using machine learning techniques. A comparison of sleeping positions with the findings indicated a correlation between paralysis and poor quality of sleep. Poor sleep quality is correlated with sleep paralysis. In the provided dataset, the Random Forest model predicts sleep paralysis with the highest accuracy 92.3%, K-nearest neighbors' classifier has an accuracy rate of 91.0% 91.9%, and 90.4% using Decision Tree and naïve Bayes. © 2024 IEEE.

Brain stroke is the world's leading cause of death, impacting numerous lives annually. The chances of having a stroke have increased by 50% over one's lifetime, impacting one in four people worldwide. Machine learning may assist in the prior detection of strokes, allowing for more timely diagnosis which can save a person's life and disability. However, existing methods face challenges in integrating ML models with clinical applications to predict patient stroke status with optimal accuracy. This study conducts a comprehensive investigation into brain stroke risk prediction using numerous ML algorithms, including Random Forest, Logistic Regression, KNN, Naive Bayes, XGBoost, and LightGBM. Our main contribution is the development of a web app that predicts stroke based on user inputs with optimal accuracy. The selected dataset contains 5110 records of normal people and 249 records of people having strokes which is highly imbalanced. To ensure model robustness, the dataset undergoes balancing through SMOTE oversampling and KNN Imputation for handling missing values. Custom thresholds for classifiers optimize training, with comprehensive evaluations utilizing key statistics such as confusion matrices, F1-Score, recall, accuracy, and precision. Cross-validation is employed to assess potential overfitting and underfitting risks in machine learning models. Random Forest ranked as the most imposing, reaching a remarkable 99.85% accuracy on the test set with a custom threshold of 0.6 and a random state at 42. Additionally, a user-friendly Web App has been developed to predict stroke status based on user input, enhancing practical usability and accessibility for individuals seeking risk assessments. © 2024 IEEE.

TrafficNet: A Hybrid CNN-FNN Model for Analysis of Traffic Accidents in Seoul

The escalating global trend of traffic accidents with subsequent loss of lives is a matter of grave concern that requires immediate attention. Extensive efforts have been made to mitigate accidents and develop effective prevention strategies. This research paper focuses on a comprehensive analysis of traffic accidents in Seoul, aiming to identify factors and accident types that contribute to increased severity. To achieve this, we introduced a new approach called "TrafficNet: A Hybrid CNN-FNN Model" to evaluate effects of various parameters on the severity of traffic accidents in Seoul. Our main objective was to classify accidents into four distinct levels of severity: minor injuries, slander, fatalities, and injury reports. To assess the effectiveness of our proposed model, we conducted comprehensive experiments using publicly available traffic accident data provided by Seoul Metropolitan Government. These experiments involved six different models, including five machine learning models (decision tree, random forest, k-nearest neighbor, gradient boosting, and support vector machine) and one deep learning model (multilayer perceptron). The proposed model demonstrated exceptional performance, surpassing all other models and previous research findings using the same dataset. On the test dataset, TrafficNet achieved an impressive accuracy of 93.98% with a precision of 94.31%, a recall of 93.98%, and an F1-score of 93.89%. Copyright 2023. This research work has been done towards the treatment of Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer by experimenting as to how a computer aided design can help oncologists classify and segment GI Cancer using Gastroenterology (GE) Images. The concept of Attention Module by the name of Convolution Block Attention Module (CBAM) using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) layers has been utilized to achieve saliency mapping in these images. The different layers of the CNN are tweaked and the hyper parameters are consistently checked and changed to achieve maximum accuracy. The CBAM Algorithm is divided into Channel Attention (CA) and Spatial Attention (SA) module. The Channel Attention has been implemented in the HSV Color Space for finding the best color space for segmentation purposes of the Chromo endoscopy medical images. Classification, followed by segmentation, is again implemented using CNN based model for normal and abnormal cancer images. For classification, 92% test accuracy has been achieved, while 70% Dice Similarity Coefficient has been obtained for segmentation. The results achieved are competitive as compared to the previous reported results on the GE images dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

Multilabel learning is an emergent topic that addresses the challenge of associating multiple labels with a single instance simultaneously. Multilabel datasets often exhibit high dimensionality with noisy, irrelevant, and redundant features. In recent years, multilabel feature selection (MLFS) has gained prominence as a crucial and emerging machine learning task due to its ability to handle such data effectively. However, existing approaches for MLFS often prioritize top-ranked features based on intrinsic data criteria, disregarding relationships within the feature subset. Additionally, compared with conventional feature selection, multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) have not been widely explored in the context of MLFS. This study aims to address these gaps by proposing a multimodal multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (MMOEA) called MMDE_SICD which incorporates a preelimination scheme, an improved initialization scheme, an exploration scheme inspired by genetic operations and a statistically inspired crowding distance scheme. The results show that the proposed MMDE_SICD algorithm can outperform a variety of MOEAs and MMOEAs as well as conventional MLFS algorithms. Notably, this study is the first of its kind to consider MLFS as a multimodal multiobjective problem. © 2020 IEEE.

Gastrointestinal diseases like ulcers, polyps’, and bleeding areincreasing rapidly in the world over the last decade. On average 0.7 millioncases are reported worldwide every year. The main cause of gastrointestinaldiseases is a Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) bacterium that presents in morethan 50% of people around the globe. Many researchers have proposeddifferent methods for gastrointestinal disease using computer vision *** of them focused on the detection process and the rest of themperformed classification. The major challenges that they faced are the similarityof infected and healthy regions that misleads the correct classificationaccuracy. In this work, we proposed a technique based on Mask Recurrent-Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN) and fine-tuned pre-trainedResNet-50 and ResNet-152 networks for feature extraction. Initially, the region ofinterest is detected using Mask R-CNN which is later utilized for the trainingof fine-tuned models through transfer learning. Features are extracted fromfine-tuned models that are later fused using a serial approach. Moreover, anImproved Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm has also opted for thebest feature selection from the fused feature vector. The best-selected featuresare finally classified using machine learning techniques. The experimentalprocess was conducted on the publicly available dataset and obtained animproved accuracy of 96.43%. In comparison with state-of-the-art techniques,it is observed that the proposed accuracy is improved.
