Welcome to the proceedings of the 2008 IFIP International Conference on Network and Parallel Computing (NPC 2008) held in Shanghai, China. NPC has been a premier conference that has brought together researchers and pr- titioners from academia, industry and governments around the world to advance the theories and technologies of network and parallel computing. The goal of NPC is to establish an international forum for researchers and practitioners to present their - cellent ideas and experiences in all system fields of network and parallel computing. The main focus of NPC 2008 was on the most critical areas of network and parallel computing, network technologies, network applications, network and parallel archit- tures, and parallel and distributed software. In total, the conference received more than 140 papers from researchers and prac- tioners. Each paper was reviewed by at least two internationally renowned referees and selected based on its originality, significance, correctness, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Among the high-quality submissions, only 32 regular papers were accepted by the conferences. All of the selected conference papers are included in the conference proceedings. After the conference, some high-quality papers will be r- ommended to be published in the special issue of international journals. We were delighted to host three well-known international scholars offering the k- note speeches, Sajal K. Das from University Texas at Arlington USA, Matt Mutka from Michigan State University and David Hung-Chang Du from University of M- nesota University of Minnesota.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee I am pleased to present the proceedings of the 2006 Symposium on Component-Based softwareengineering (CBSE). CBSE is concerned with the development of software-intensive systems from reusable parts (components), the development of reusable parts, and system maintenance and improvement by means of component replacement and customization. CBSE 2006 was the ninth in a series of events that promote a science and technology foundation for achieving predictable quality in softwaresystems through the use of software component technology and its associated softwareengineering practices. We were fortunate to have a dedicated Program Committee comprising 27 internationally recognized researchers and industrial practitioners. We received 77 submissions and each paper was reviewed by at least three Program Committee members (four for papers with an author on the Program Committee). The entire reviewing process was supported by Microsoft’s CMT technology. In total, 22 submissions were accepted as full papers and 9 submissions were accepted as short papers. This was the first time CBSE was not held as a co-located event at ICSE. Hence special thanks are due to Ivica Crnkovic for hosting the event. We also wish to thank the ACM Special Interest Group on softwareengineering (SIGSOFT) for their sponsorship of CBSE 2005. The proceedings you now hold were published by Springer and we are grateful for their support. Finally, we must thank the many authors who contributed the high-quality papers contained within these proceedings.

Advancement in IT and communication technology provides the opportunity for social media users to communicate their ideas and thoughts across the globe within no time as well big data promulgated in a result of the communication process itself has immense challenges. Recently, the provision of freedom of speech has witnessed immense promulgation of offensive and hate speech content on the internet aimed the basic human rights violation. The detection of abusive content on social media for rich resource language has become a hot area for researchers in the recent past. However, low-resource languages are underprivileged due to the non-availability of large corpus and its complexity to understand. The proposed methodology mainly has two parts. One is to detect abusive content and the other is to have a demographical analysis of the Indigenously developed dataset. The process starts with the development of a unique unlabeled Urdu dataset of 0.2 M from Twitter through a web scrapper tool named snscraper. The dataset is collected against the 36 districts of Punjab from Pakistan and from the duration 2018- Apr 2022. The dataset is labeled into three target classes Neutral, Offensive, and Hate Speech. After data cleaning, the feature extraction process is achieved with the help of traditional techniques such as Bow and tf-idf with the combination of word and char n-gram and word embedding word2Vec. The dataset is trained on both machine learning algorithms SVM and Logistic regression and deep learning techniques Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). The best F score achieved through LSTM on this dataset is 64 and accuracy is 93 through CNN algorithms. A Choropleth map is used for visualization of the dataset distributed among 36 districts of Punjab and a time series plot for time analysis covers five years duration from 2018-Apr to 22.

The 8th IFIP Workshop on software Technologies for Embedded and Ubiq- tous systems (SEUS 2010) in Waidhofen/Ybbs, Austria, October 13-15, 2010, succeeded the seven previous workshops in Newport Beach, USA (2009); Capri, Italy (2008); Santorini, Greece (2007); Gyeongju, Korea (2006); Seattle, USA (2005); Vienna, Austria (2004); and Hokodate, Japan (2003); installing SEUS as a successfully established workshop in the ?eld of embedded and ubiquitous systems. SEUS 2010 continued the tradition of fostering cross-community scienti?c excellence and establishing strong links between research and industry. SEUS 2010 provided a forum where researchers and practitioners with substantial - periences and serious interests in advancing the state of the art and the state of practice in the ?eld of embedded and ubiquitous computing systems gathered with the goal of fostering new ideas, collaborations, and technologies. The c- tributions in this volume present advances in integrating the ?elds of embedded computing and ubiquitous systems. The call for papers attracted 30 submissions from all around the world. Each submission was assigned to at least four members of the Program Committee for review. The Program Committee decided to accept 21 papers, which were arranged in eight sessions. The accepted papers are from Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Taiwan, UK, and USA. Two keynotes complemented the strong technical program.

With the rapid growth in the use of computers to manipulate, process, and reason about multimedia data, the problem of how to store and retrieve such data is becoming increasingly important. Thus, although the field of multimedia database systems is only about 5 years old, it is rapidly becoming a focus for much excitement and research effort. Multimedia database systems are intended to provide unified frameworks for requesting and integrating information in a wide variety of formats, such as audio and video data, document data, and image data. Such data often have special storage requirements that are closely coupled to the various kinds of devices that are used for recording and presenting the data, and for each form of data there are often multiple representations and multiple standards - all of which make the database integration task quite complex. Some of the problems include: - what a multimedia database query means - what kinds of languages to use for posing queries - how to develop compilers for such languages - how to develop indexing structures for storing media on ancillary devices - data compression techniques - how to present and author presentations based on user queries. Although approaches are being developed for a number of these problems, they have often been ad hoc in nature, and there is a need to provide a princi pled theoretical foundation.
