This study investigates the development and application of a personalized, interactive virtual system to enhance dementia care and protect people with dementia. A significant challenge in providing care for individuals with dementia is the propensity to wander and become lost, which can lead to anxiety and distress for both the patient and the carers as well as safety concerns. The system combines cutting-edge emotion recognition technology and healthcare IOT technology to effectively identify and provide real-time solutions in response to users' emotional states. This initiative combines dementia care, educational support, and patient security to establish a comprehensive strategy for maintaining well-being and managing the disease in dementia patients. This project has experimentally designed a security system to enhance the safety of dementia patients, a Health Checker system aimed at maintaining their health stability, and a virtual assistant that offers guidance by identifying real-time emotions and providing activities to improve cognitive function and promote relaxation Given a vast amount of patient data, the AI model has been able to identify 98% of patients' illnesses early. security software successfully detected patients with 99% accuracy using GPS technology and machine learning algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

Retailers are crucial in supply chains, acting as the bridge between consumers and resources. However, there is limited analytic-based literature on block design in grocery stores. This paper employs an algorithmic approach with optimization techniques to efficiently design the interior space of a provided supermarket. The objective is to create an analytical method for handling design issues without relying on human-centered approaches. Using data from supermarket store arrangements, the paper showcases efficient space utilization by aligning item measurements with customer needs. Decision variables offer decision makers a precise collection of non-dominated designs. Previous studies demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach in analytically designing a data-driven structure for supermarket block layouts. The model identifies layouts that maximize space utilization while meeting industry standards. Although primarily focused on Asian retailers, the approach is generally applicable due to the similarity of grocery store layouts worldwide. The method and results are easily translatable for other retailers. © 2023 IEEE.

Online testing is critical to ensuring reliable operations of the next generation of supercomputers based on a kilo-core network-on-chip(NoC)interconnection *** present a parallel software-based self-testing(SBST)solution that makes use of the bounded model checking(BMC)technique to generate test sequences and parallel *** this method,the parallel SBST with BMC derives the leading sequence for each router’s internal function and detects all functionally-testable faults related to the function.A Monte-Carlo simulation algorithm is then used to search for the approximately optimum configuration of the parallel packets,which guarantees the test quality and minimizes the test ***,a multi-threading technology is used to ensure that the Monte-Carlo simulation can reach the approximately optimum configuration in a large random space and reduce the generating time of the parallel *** results show that the proposed method achieves a high fault coverage with a reduced test ***,by performing online testing in the functional mode with SBST,it effectively avoids the over-testing problem caused by functionally untestable turns in kilo-core NoCs.

Visual disability seems to be increasing and widespread worldwide. Current diagnostics require manual expertise for diagnosis. The advancement of Artificial Intelligence research for medical applications has been in focus in recent years. Fundus images and oct images are valuable sources of information to help ophthalmologists diagnose vision disorders or eye diseases. Early detection can improve the chances of recovery and prevent blindness. The application of an intelligent computer-based approach to classifying different eye disorders is extremely beneficial for both diagnosis and prevention. The proposed expert system for diagnosing diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma diseases is discussed in this research study. It is based on deep learning image processing techniques. For the detection of eye diseases, software used retinal and OTC images. This study presents Yolo, UNET, customized CNN, and Auto ML model-based system for detecting eye diseases. For the tasks of disease identification and grading, the suggested methods each obtained more than 87% accuracy. The primary objective of this study is to achieve automated identification of eye disease images. This is accomplished through the implementation of a deep learning model alongside advanced image processing techniques, enabling the automatic classification of eyes into either a healthy or diseased category. © 2023 IEEE.

Computers play a significant part in the modern world. The rapid increase in computer use, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, raised concerns about the potential negative impact on user health. Sitting posture, eye health, stress, and sleep are the most important factors when considering the health of daily computer users. It is more important to prevent issues from occurring than to find solutions once they have occurred. To address this issue, a Real-Time Computer User Action Monitoring Approach is proposed that uses machine learning techniques to monitor and preserve user health effectively. Importantly, this solution leverages only the built-in webcam, eliminating the need for costly external equipment and ensuring affordability. The proposed solution consists of four key components: sitting posture detection and correction, eye tracking for eye health and comfort, stress detection and reduction techniques, and drowsiness detection for enhanced productivity and safety. This approach assists users in avoiding harmful behaviors, fosters healthful computer use by providing real-time feedback, and offers personalized recommendations. © 2023 IEEE.

Skin health significantly affects a person's overall wellbeing, which includes both physical and emotional aspects. The objective of this study is to develop an integrated system for recommending skincare products that integrates image processing, machine learning, sentiment analysis, and user feedback analysis to deliver individualized skincare advice and boost user satisfaction. Utilizing deep learning algorithms and face cues, the system uses user image analysis to detect important skin features, skin type, acne severity, and dark spots with extraordinary accuracy. Using sentiment analysis and clustering, the program identifies popular skincare products and tailors' recommendations to user preferences. Recommendations are further personalized by collaborative filtering. By using image analysis to identify allergies and other negative effects, user safety is increased. The technique prioritizes data safety and includes model training, sentiment analysis, image processing, and user input analysis. Initial findings demonstrate the excellent accuracy of skin issue detection and severity prediction. By allowing users from a variety of user demographics to make informed skincare decisions, this complete framework has the potential to change the skincare industry. © 2023 IEEE.

Mobile edge computing (MEC) promotes the development and popularity of Internet of Things (IoT) devices with higher connectivity and ultra-low latency through network topology optimization and real-time data analysis. With the exponential growth of data traffic generated by IoT devices, it is essential to prevent edge servers (ESs) from overloading through efficient task scheduling to ensure the quality of service (QoS). However, the lack of trust and incentive mechanisms between ESs deployed and managed by different infrastructure providers makes it challenging to perform peer-offloaded tasks. Moreover, to meet the low-latency requirement of many IoT applications, the execution efficiency of the task scheduling scheme in MEC needs to be improved. To address the above challenges systematically, a QoS-driven task scheduling scheme with blockchain in MEC named SharpEdge is proposed. In SharpEdge, ESs publish tasks with rewards and then select the most reliable executors through a historical performance-based reputation mechanism to perform peer offloading. The performance of the executor will be recorded into the blockchain after the task is completed. In addition, a concurrent consensus mechanism using sharding technology is designed, improving task scheduling efficiency. We implement SharpEdge based on Hyperledger Fabric and verify its performance in a simulated MEC environment. © 2024 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

In today's fast-paced work environment, stress levels have become a critical concern. This research introduces an innovative approach to address this issue by utilizing readily available, cost-effective components - the ESP32 microcontroller and the MAX30102 heart rate sensor, seamlessly integrated into an external mouse. This non-intrusive system enables real-time stress assessment for developers during their tasks. By analyzing heart rate variability data, a practical and effective solution is offered. The collected data is securely transmitted for analysis, potentially revolutionizing developer well-being and productivity. The world of vehicle service and troubleshooting can be daunting for individuals without specialized training. Vehicle manuals are often complex and challenging to comprehend, while relying on experienced mechanics for assistance can be inconvenient and expensive. To address these challenges, this research paper presents the development of an interactive vehicle service assistance system that empowers vehicle owners to independently service and troubleshoot their vehicles. The proposed system encompasses four key components: a knowledgebase construction, write semantic rules (SWRL), real-time object identification using YOLO model, audio feedback and stepwise guidance for customer. The knowledgebase is used for stepwise guidance for disassembling engine through employing marker-less Augmented Reality (AR). The knowledgebase component offers user-friendly access to troubleshooting techniques based on insights from experienced mechanics. By providing stepwise instructions accompanied by AR based visualization, users can effectively learn the process of deconstructing and assembling different components of their automobiles. The proposed system enhances vehicle troubleshooting experiences by enabling owners to acquire the necessary skills to self-troubleshooting without involving external assistance and empower individuals to take control of their own vehicles. © 2023 IEEE.

The focus group on drama patterns we organized at EuroPLoP 2023 attracted 16 participants (apart from the organizers), who together built a short drama play (created by Aleksandra Vranic) based on the motifs from the stories of Alice in Wonderland. We discussed how particular drama patterns metaphorically correspond to some software patterns and elaborated on two examples of such correspondence: the Thoughts Reflecting Environment drama pattern and its correspondence to the Observer design pattern and the Loosely Coupled Situations drama pattern and its correspondence to the Visitor design pattern. Both drama patterns were first played by the participants and then related to the corresponding design pattern. We also played Observer in a technical, nonmetaphoric way. We also made a performance at the banquet, which was accepted with delight. We achieved this with no rehearsals and with the actor for the main role appointed just before the performance, which confirmed once more how powerful patterns are. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
