Integrating COTS products into a composite application can reduce development effort and associated costs. A major drawback comes from interoperability problems that hinder the seamless integration of components. Two types of problems are prominent: architecture mismatch and security mismatch. Because of their distinct properties, each problem is currently analyzed separately. The results are integration solutions that are constructed in isolation. Combining these solutions can yield another set of problems if their functionality is conflicting, duplicated, or overly complex. It is imperative to address these issues in component based software development. In this paper, we depict the architectural differences among components, their security access control policies, and the integration solutions that result from independent analysis. This is the first step toward including architectural interoperability issues and security conflicts in the design of an encompassing solution for an integrated application. We show a composition of the two solutions, highlighting redundancy and complexity. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2002.

With the advances in information and communication technologies, an immense amount of information has been shared on social media and microblogging platforms. Much of the online content contains elements of figurative language, such as, irony, sarcasm and satire. The automatic identification of figurative language can be viewed as a challenging task in natural language processing, where linguistic entities, such as, metaphor, analogy, ambiguity, irony, sarcasm, satire, and so on, have been utilized to express more complex meanings. The predictive performance of sentiment classification schemes may degrade if figurative language within the text has not been properly addressed. Satirical text is a way of figurative communication, where ideas/opinions regarding a people, event or issue is expressed in a humorous way to criticize that entity. Satirical news can be deceptive and harmful. In this paper, we present a machine learning based approach to satire detection in Turkish news articles. In the presented scheme, we utilized three kinds of features to model lexical information, namely, unigrams, bigrams and tri-grams. In addition, term-frequency, term-presence and TF-IDF based schemes have been taken into consideration. In the classification phase, Naïve Bayes, support vector machines, logistic regression and C4.5 algorithms have been examined. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Ascribe to the research significance and great application potential of elastic wave manipulation, the topological phononic crystals with peculiar functions in robust waveguiding have attracted enormous research attention. High-dimensional, higher-order, multifunctional, intelligent, and multi-frequency topological structures are expected to be a prominent research focus in the coming decades, while grand challenges still exist in designing such devices. In this regard, this paper presents a hexagonal lattice structure with six internally connected cylinders. Utilizing the accidental Dirac cones, the separate control of closing/opening and topological phases of three bandgaps at different frequencies is achieved. The subsequent parametric analyses reveal the whole picture of valley Chern numbers variation in the parametric space, which helps summarize the design principles of frequency-dependent topologically protected interface modes. Several superstructures consisting of two types of unitcells are then constructed to achieve the waveguiding in a straight path and frequency-dependent wave filtration. Consequently, introducing more types of unitcells can form interfaces that support waveguiding at different frequencies, leading to the realization of frequency-dependent wave separation and demultiplex. The presented work in this paper not only offers a novel design for multi-frequency wave separation and filtration but also inspires further explorations in multi-functional integrated elastic wave processors.

The dynamic stress in existing bridge transition section of often bigger than ordinary roadbed due to its stiffness irregularity, so using the ordinary subgrade bearing standard as bridge transition section standard is inappropriate. Based on the measured dynamic stress in Xin-feng river bridge transition section, related standard for raising speed and Boussinesq's answer for stress in subgrade, Evd value and bearing standard in transition section subgrade are derived. Research shows that, Evd value control standard is not than 55MPa(fine-grained soil)and not less than 40MPa (coarse-grained soil). The bearing capacity control standard is not less than 210kPa for surface layer of subgrade and 180kPa for bottom layer of subgrade, which are 30kPa bigger than ordinary subgrade. The research provides a standard basis for reinforcement in existing railway bridge transition section. © the authors.

In this paper we present work towards a software framework for robots in the context of the building/construction of nextgeneration architectural designs. We call these architectural robots. Our software framework is aimed at supporting architectural robots following a chain of processing steps. These comprise iterations on processing and manufacturing steps (e.g., bending of rods, carving, shaping) together with evaluation steps (e.g., 3D scanning of an object). We describe requirements on software components and their interaction to implement these steps. Furthermore, we present some existing components and motivate the specific requirements on software-based robot frameworks for the building architecture and construction industry. © 2015 ACM.

This paper focuses on the impact of promotional activities on the order volume of e-commerce users and the influence of unexpected events such as the COVID-19 pandemic on logistics transportation volume. The VMD algorithm is utilized to preprocess the data, and a CNN_BILSTM_RF prediction model and simulated annealing optimization model are constructed. Various software tools such as Matlab and SPSS are comprehensively employed to address the issue of freight allocation for different routes in logistics transportation. Firstly, the VMD algorithm is used to denoise the grouped data, and the CNN_BILSTcM_RF prediction model is constructed using Matlab to forecast the freight volume between DC25 and DC62, yielding conclusions such as 1774.2, 2041.5, 2718.6, 2160.9, 2251.3, and so on. Secondly, the maximum freight volume and load factor for the remaining routes after shutting down the DC5 and DC9 routes are predicted and calculated. A simulated annealing model is then applied to optimize the solution, resulting in conclusions such as 11.7288, 11.332, and so on for the overall network load. Lastly, the routes are evaluated, and the optimal transportation routes are identified as DC14-DC8, DC14-DC9, and DC36-DC4, with the addition of a new route between stations 8 and 10 to alleviate their burden, among other conclusions. © 2023 IEEE.

Unreliable design practices on Ethiopian road construction projects have become a crucial matter concerning the late completion of road construction projects, high-cost overruns, and premature failures. The present research encompasses the revealed preference and stated preference data conducted through traditional printed questionnaires versus online Web-based cellular phone questionnaires for assessing design practice concerning design firms of road projects administered by Ethiopian Roads Authority. Online real-time application-based questionnaire has developed for the data collection and interpretation. Workflow reconfiguration traditionally modifies only workflow definitions. Incorporating dynamism in Web service workflows should also adapt instance execution as services change availability. Commercial workflow engines lack mechanisms to adapt instances except where instances deploy with all possible workflow paths, to achieve pseudo-dynamism. This error prone method has the potential for unsound specifications and still does not allow runtime modifications. We perform workflow reconfiguration through an inspection-feedback loop that decouples services specifications and priorities that can change BPEL workflows from their actual execution. When a change occurs, such as service unavailability, immediate adaptation of the workflow instance takes place. To guarantee proper reconfiguration, we formally specify the architecture, interactions, and change directives, according to a natural separation of reconfiguration concerns. We prove the workflow instance will correctly adapt to an alternative service when certain conditions are met.

The bug reports and service support requests provided by users to software developers serve as an important source of information for software maintenance. For large software projects, the number of users involved may be high. As a result, large number of service support requests may be generated. In this study, we present a machine learning approach for automatic categorization of service support requests on university information management system of Izmir Katip Celebi University. We have collected a text corpus, which contains 17,831 bug reports and service support requests. On the corpus, preprocessing stages, such as, tokenization, stop word filtering and stemming have been employed. To represent text documents, TF-IDF term weighting scheme has been utilized in conjunction with 1-gram model. In the empirical analysis, five conventional classification algorithms (i.e., Naïve Bayes, k-nearest neighbor algorithm, C4.5 decision tree algorithm, random forest algorithm and support vector machines) have been taken into consideration. The experimental results indicate that the presented machine learning scheme can yield promising results on assigning service support requests to one of the related modules, as student information system, personnel information system, electronic document management system and scientific research projects system. Applications often need to be deployed in different variants due to different customer requirements. However, since modern applications often need to be deployed using multiple deployment technologies in combination, such as Ansible and Terraform, the deployment variability must be considered in a holistic way. To tackle this, we previously developed Variability4TOSCA and the prototype OpenTOSCA Vintner, which is a TOSCA preprocessing and management layer that implements Variability4TOSCA. In this demonstration, we present a detailed case study that shows how to model a deployment using Variability4TOSCA, how to resolve the variability using Vintner, and how the result can be deployed. © 2023 CEUR-WS.
