Among different components of urban mobility, urban freight transport is usually considered as the least sustainable. Limited traffic infrastructures and increasing demands in dense urban regions lead to frequent delivery runs with smaller freight vehicles. This increases the traffic in urban areas and has negative impacts upon the quality of life in urban populations. Data driven optimizations are essential to better utilize existing urban transport infrastructures and to reduce the negative effects of freight deliveries for the cities. However, there is limited work and data driven research on urban delivery areas and freight transportation networks. In this paper, we collect and analyse data on urban freight deliveries and parking areas towards an optimized urban freight transportation system. Using a new check-in based mobile parking system for freight vehicles, we aim to understand and optimize freight distribution processes. We explore the relationship between areas' availability patterns and underlying traffic behaviour in order to understand the trends in urban freight transport. By applying the detected patterns we predict the availabilities of loading/unloading areas, and thus open up new possibilities for delivery route planning and better managing of freight transport infrastructures.

Application of Protein-Protein Interaction Network Analysis in Order to Identify Cervical Cancer miRNA and mRNA Biomarkers

Cervical cancer (CC) is one of the world’s most common and severe cancers. This cancer includes two histological types: squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (ADC). The current study aims at identifying novel potential candidate mRNA and miRNA biomarkers for SCC based on a protein-protein interaction (PPI) and miRNA-mRNA network analysis. The current project utilized a transcriptome profile for normal and SCC samples. First, the PPI network was constructed for the 1335 DEGs, and then, a significant gene module was extracted from the PPI network. Next, a list of miRNAs targeting module’s genes was collected from the experimentally validated databases, and a miRNA-mRNA regulatory network was formed. After network analysis, four driver genes were selected from the module’s genes including MCM2, MCM10, POLA1, and TONSL and introduced as potential candidate biomarkers for SCC. In addition, two hub miRNAs, including miR-193b-3p and miR-615-3p, were selected from the miRNA-mRNA regulatory network and reported as possible candidate biomarkers. In summary, six potential candidate RNA-based biomarkers consist of four genes containing MCM2, MCM10, POLA1, and TONSL, and two miRNAs containing miR-193b-3p and miR-615-3p are opposed as potential candidate biomarkers for CC. Outdoor noise pollution may induce physiological diseases. Acoustic modulation can be carried out by accurately identifying and localizing noise sources to achieve noise control. In this paper, a hyperbolic acoustic metamaterial configuration for high-precision identification and localization of noise sources is designed. The effect of hyperlens thickness on focusing imaging is analyzed with finite element analysis software. Based on the acoustic eight-layer lens configuration, the influence of the distance between the point sound source and the hyperlens on the far-field recognition resolution is studied. The acoustic metamaterials designed in this paper can flexibly modulate sound waves and effectively amplify the propagation information of swift waves. Combined with the phase conjugate method in the middle and far fields can realize the breakthrough of the Rayleigh diffraction limit problem in sound source identification. After verification, the experimental results of this paper break through the 0.5l acoustic wave diffraction limit under ten working conditions. So the configuration designed in this paper has high engineering practical value and good application prospects in noise source identification and localization. At the same time, the findings of this paper will also provide novel ideas for underwater target detection on a certain spatial scale. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The modeling and simulation community in aviation is in search of standardization in simulation scenario definition. While the System Entity Structure (SES) ontology promises an effective formal means of domain modeling, computational representation is still a key challenge to tackle for fostering wide-acceptance and standardization. This paper presents an eXtended Markup Language (XML) based approach. It first gives the relational specification and the schema definition of the SES ontology. Following a layered modeling workflow, it then presents a schema definition for the simulation scenario definition language and exemplifies its utilization. © 2018, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. With the development of science and technology through social networks, the process of diffusion has become a controversial subject. In social networks, the process of diffusion is transmitted from one individual to another. The influence maximization problem, in which at least k nodes are chosen as the initial nodes of the spreader in the smallest amount of time, is one of the most critical aspects of the diffusion process. Furthermore, the initial nodes in the social network should generate the most influence on the other nodes in the network. However, in the algorithms proposed to solve the problem of influence maximization, the real-world factors which affect the influence probability in diffusion models are ignored for example, the influence probability is determined randomly. This problem causes influence maximization algorithms based on diffusion models to face the challenge of time-consuming Monte Carlo simulation. So, the RIM algorithm presented in this article which this method selects the initial nodes of the spreader according on their local reachability. In addition, Due to privacy in social networks, complete information about people such as gender, education, etc. is not available. For this reason, in the RIM algorithm, using the graph structure in social networks, the influence probability is calculated in the new DBT diffusion model. In addition, the RIM algorithm exhibits stable performance in the selection of the spreader's initial nodes in terms of influence spread, and execution time.

Influence maximization techniques emphasize selecting a set of influential nodes in order to maximize influence. Because the algorithms presented in this field ignore the topology of cliques for diffusion, there are two major challenges in influence maximization algorithms: optimal diffusion and computational overhead reduction. As a result, the CDP algorithm is presented in this article to address these issues. This algorithm first selects suitable cliques for diffusion based on their position and strategy in social networks. Furthermore, for each clique, a score is calculated based on the topological criteria of the clique, and suitable cliques are selected for diffusion by applying a threshold limit. The seed nodes are chosen from the cliques in the second step. To avoid the rich club phenomenon, only a few nodes from each clique are chosen as seed candidate nodes. Finally, the seed nodes are chosen based on the node’s topology and the strength of the node’s level one neighbor. In the experiment section, the CDP algorithm significantly outperforms the best algorithms presented in recent years in terms of influence spread rate and execution time.

In an era where social media is an almost omnipresent means of communication, online safety is crucial. Still, conventional sentiment analysis methods sometimes fall short of accurately spotting dubious conduct. A novel approach utilizing advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, especially Deep Learning (DL) models like BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers), is proposed to overcome these challenges. DL is used by the suggested method to identify nuanced attitudes in social media posts, which raises the accuracy of identifying suspicious activities. That is not the case with conventional systems that depend on basic algorithms. With detection rates of 88%, 85%, and 90% for hate speech, violent statements, and extreme opinions, respectively, the system accomplishes remarkable outcomes via meticulous data gathering, preprocessing, and model training. Through comparison, it outperforms existing systems in terms of F1 score (0.92), recall (0.91), precision (0.94), and accuracy (0.92). The proposed system effectively reduces potential risks and encourages a safer online environment by utilizing the effective analysis of sentiment in social media posts, therefore indicating a major advancement in online security. © 2024 IEEE.

We present ASSIST, an object-wise neural radiance field as a panoptic representation for compositional and realistic simulation. Central to our approach is a novel scene node data structure that stores the information of each object in a unified fashion, allowing online interaction in both intra- and cross-scene settings. By incorporating a differentiable neural network along with the associated bounding box and semantic features, the proposed structure guarantees user-friendly interaction on independent objects to scale up novel view simulation. Objects in the scene can be queried, added, duplicated, deleted, transformed, or swapped simply through mouse/keyboard controls or language instructions. Experiments demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method, where scaled realistic simulation can be achieved through interactive editing and compositional rendering, with color images, depth images, and panoptic segmentation masks generated in a 3D consistent manner. System-level test, or SLT, is an increasingly important process step in today’s integrated circuit testing flows. Broadly speaking, SLT aims at executing functional workloads in operational modes. In this paper, we consolidate available knowledge about what SLT is precisely and why it is used despite its considerable costs and complexities. We discuss the types or failures covered by SLT, and outline approaches to quality assessment, test generation and root-cause diagnosis in the context of SLT. Observing that the theoretical understanding for all these questions has not yet reached the level of maturity of the more conventional structural and functional test methods, we outline new and promising directions for methodical developments leveraging on recent findings from software engineering. A Modular Quantum Compilation Framework for Distributed Quantum Computing

For most practical applications, quantum algorithms require large resources in terms of qubit number, much larger than those available with current NISQ processors. With the network and communication functionalities provided by the Quantum Internet, Distributed Quantum Computing (DQC) is considered as a scalable approach for increasing the number of available qubits for computational tasks. For DQC to be effective and efficient, a quantum compiler must find the best partitioning for the quantum algorithm and then perform smart remote operation scheduling to optimize EPR pair consumption. At the same time, the quantum compiler should also find the best local transformation for each partition. In this paper we present a modular quantum compilation framework for DQC that takes into account both network and device constraints and characteristics. We implemented and tested a quantum compiler based on the proposed framework with some circuits of interest, such as the VQE and QFT ones, considering different network topologies, with quantum processors characterized by heavy hexagon coupling maps. We also devised a strategy for remote scheduling that can exploit both TeleGate and TeleData operations and tested the impact of using either only TeleGates or both. The evaluation results show that TeleData operations may have a positive impact on the number of consumed EPR pairs, while choosing a more connected network topology helps reduce the number of layers dedicated to remote operations. © 2023, CC BY.
