Two Compact Hybrid Band-Pass Filters Using Eighth-Mode Substrate-Integrated Waveguide and Microstrip Resonators

Two compact substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) filters with hybrid coupling of eighth-mode substrate integrated waveg-uide (EMSIW) resonators and microstrip are proposed in this paper. Hybrid coupled filters were achieved by etching two half-wavelength microstrip resonators (BPF I) or two quarter-wavelength microstrip resonators (BPF II) on the top of traditional second-order EMSIW filters. The topology of the two filters was analyzed. Due to the cross coupling between resonator 1 and resonator 4, two transmission zeros were achieved outside the band of BPF I, which increased the selectivity of the filter. Due to the mixed electromagnetic coupling between resonator 2 and resonator 3, a transmission zero is realized in the stopband of BPF II. To confirm the validity of the two filter models, two filters were designed, produced, and measured. Based on the findings of the measurements, the central frequency of BPF I is recorded at 7.7 GHz, with a fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 18.2%. The insertion loss (IL) within the passband is minimal at 0.8 dB, and the size of the filter is only 8 mm * 4 mm (0.53λg *0.26λg). The filter exhibits enhanced out-of-band suppression due to the presence of two transmission zeros located at frequencies of 6.4 GHz and 10 GHz. The center frequency of BPF II is 19.5 GHz,; the FBW is 20.5%; the IL within the passband is only 0.49 dB; and the size of the filter is only 2 mm ∗ 2 mm (0.34λg *0.34λg). As a result of the mixed electromagnetic coupling effects, a transmission zero occurs at a frequency of 26.7 GHz. The simulation outcomes are consistent with the experimental findings. Compared with other reported SIW filters, the two filters introduced in this study exhibit favorable characteristics such as reduced insertion loss and compact dimensions. © 2025, Electromagnetics Academy. Characterizing the app recommendation relationships in the iOS app store: a complex network's perspective

Mobile apps have become widely adopted in our daily lives. To facilitate app discovery, most app markets provide recommendations for users, which may significantly impact how apps are accessed. However, little has been known about the underlying relationships and how they reflect(or affect) user behaviors. To fill this gap, we characterize the app recommendation relationships in the i OS app store from the perspective of the complex network. We collect a dataset containing over 1.3 million apps and 50 million app recommendations. This dataset enables us to construct a complex network that captures app recommendation relationships. Through this, we explore the recommendation relationships between mobile apps and how these relationships reflect or affect user behavior patterns. The insights gained from our research can be valuable for understanding typical user behaviors and identifying potential policy-violating apps.

Static Analysis Techniques for Fixing software Defects in MPI-Based Parallel Programs

The Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a widely accepted standard for parallel computing on distributed ***, MPI implementations can contain defects that impact the reliability and performance of parallelapplications. Detecting and correcting these defects is crucial, yet there is a lack of published models specificallydesigned for correctingMPI defects. To address this, we propose a model for detecting and correcting MPI defects(DC_MPI), which aims to detect and correct defects in various types of MPI communication, including blockingpoint-to-point (BPTP), nonblocking point-to-point (NBPTP), and collective communication (CC). The defectsaddressed by the DC_MPI model include illegal MPI calls, deadlocks (DL), race conditions (RC), and messagemismatches (MM). To assess the effectiveness of the DC_MPI model, we performed experiments on a datasetconsisting of 40 MPI codes. The results indicate that the model achieved a detection rate of 37 out of 40 codes,resulting in an overall detection accuracy of 92.5%. Additionally, the execution duration of the DC_MPI modelranged from 0.81 to 1.36 s. These findings show that the DC_MPI model is useful in detecting and correctingdefects in MPI implementations, thereby enhancing the reliability and performance of parallel applications. TheDC_MPImodel fills an important research gap and provides a valuable tool for improving the quality ofMPI-basedparallel computing systems.

Edge computing enhances task reliability by employing redundant task executions across edge nodes. Conventional decentralized task offloading strategies, based on heuristics and game theory, either focus on optimization or are based on unrealistic assumptions. Moreover, existing Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) task offloading approaches underperform due to discrepancies between simulated environments and real systems, and overlook task redundancy, thus failing to meet reliability requirements. This paper proposes a DRL-based approach to offload distributed redundant tasks, namely DR-DRL (Decentralized and Redundant DRL), to solve the redundancy problem of distributed task offloading under edge computing. Experimental results show that DR-DRL has about 8% higher task success rate than other benchmark methods. ©2024 IEEE.

The widespread use of Internet of Things (IoT) systems results in a large volume of data that needs to be analyzed in real time for efficient usage. Complex Event Processing (CEP) is a technique that enables organizations to analyze data and identify complex and meaningful events. CEP uses patterns written in an Event Pattern Language (EPL) to describe an event. However, producing patterns and rules using EPL remains a significant *** research benefits from data analysis and model-driven engineering to automatically produce CEP rules that allow domain experts to extract and define patterns automatically, even if unfamiliar with data analysis or CEP rule design. At the end of the paper, a case problem is solved, resulting in a coverage coefficient of 60%, an average accuracy of 82.5%, and an average precision of 82%. The results show that this combined approach is beneficial in providing a more appropriate response in less time. © 2023 IEEE.

The geological survey along the large railway in China is difficult, the boundaries of many regional geological maps are unclear, and the geological mapping is very different. The use of hyperspectral remote sensing can greatly improve the survey accuracy in complex mountainous areas. In the identification of lithology and structure, hyperspectral remote sensing has certain advantages compared with multi-spectral satellite images. In this paper, the hyperspectral data of Gaofen-5 satellite is interpreted by a series of technical methods, such as data preprocessing, radiometric calibration, atmospheric correction, orthographic correction, image information enhancement, radiation homogenization processing, etc. According to different geological conditions, lithologic structure information by hyperspectral information enhancement technology in different regions and layers. Different geological units are effectively divided, the distribution characteristics of geological structure space are identified, and some stratigraphic boundaries of the original geological map are adjusted. This paper solves the problems that the survey personnel of long and large tunnels cannot reach, and the conventional survey methods cannot verify the stratigraphic boundaries and lithological characteristics. It also provides an important auxiliary reference value for the identification of surrounding rock of hyperspectral remote sensing. © 2024 SPIE.

Flexible sensors have been widely studied for use in motion monitoring,human‒machine interactions(HMIs),personalized medicine,and soft intelligent ***,their practical application is limited by their low output performance,narrow measuring range,and unidirectional force ***,to achieve flexibility and high performance simultaneously,we developed a flexible wide-range multidimensional force sensor(FWMFS)similar to bones embedded in muscle *** adjustable magnetic field endows the FWMFS with multidimensional perception for detecting forces in different *** multilayer stacked coils significantly improved the output from theμV to the mV level while ensuring FWMFS *** optimized FWMFS exhibited a high voltage sensitivity of 0.227 mV/N(0.5–8.4 N)and 0.047 mV/N(8.4–60 N)in response to normal forces ranging from 0.5 N to 60 N and could detect lateral forces ranging from 0.2–1.1 N and voltage sensitivities of 1.039 mV/N(0.2–0.5 N)and 0.194 mV/N(0.5–1.1 N).In terms of normal force measurements,the FWMFS can monitor finger pressure and sliding trajectories in response to finger taps,as well as measure plantar pressure for assessing human *** plantar pressure signals of five human movements collected by the FWMFS were analyzed using the k-nearest neighbors classification algorithm,which achieved a recognition accuracy of 92%.Additionally,an artificial intelligence biometric authentication system is being developed that classifies and recognizes user *** on the lateral force measurement ability of the FWMFS,the direction of ball movement can be distinguished,and communication systems such as Morse Code can be *** research has significant potential in intelligent sensing and personalized spatial recognition.
