The article is devoted to the development of means for recognition of the emotions of the speaker, based on the neural network analysis of fixed fragments of the voice signal. The possibility of improving recognition tools through the use of a convolutional neural network of the GoogLeNet type is shown. The expediency of training the network on the examples of the TESS database is determined. A procedure for representing a voice signal in the form of a square grayscale image has been developed. Based on the use of the specified database, the modification of the GoogLeNet network was carried out. The architecture and software implementation of the recognition module have been developed. With the help of computer experiments, it has been established that after 150 epochs of training on a fairly limited training sample, the modified GoogLeNet makes it possible to achieve an accuracy of recognition of the speaker's emotions of approximately 0.97 on test examples. The obtained accuracy is comparable to the accuracy of the best modern systems of this purpose and confirms the promise of using neural network models like GoogLeNet for emotion recognition based on voice signal analysis. The need for further research aimed at reducing the resource intensity of the neural network model is shown. © 2022 IEEE.

Escape analysis is widely used to determine the scope of variables, and is an effective way to optimize memory usage. However, the escape analysis algorithm can hardly reach 100% accurate, mistakes of which can lead to a waste of heap memory. It is challenging to ensure the correctness of programs for memory optimization. In this paper, we propose an escape analysis optimization approach for Go programming language (Golang), aiming to save heap memory usage of programs. First, we compile the source code to capture information of escaped variables. Then, we change the code so that some of these variables can bypass Golang's escape analysis mechanism, thereby saving heap memory usage and reducing the pressure of memory garbage collection. Next, we present a verification method to validate the correctness of programs, and evaluate the effect of memory optimization. We implement the approach to an automatic tool and make it open-source(1). For evaluation, we apply our approach to 10 open-source projects. For the optimized Golang code, the heap allocation is reduced by 8.88% in average, and the heap usage is reduced by 8.78% in average. Time consumption is reduced by 9.48% in average, while the cumulative time of GC pause is reduced by 5.64% in average. We also apply our approach to 16 industrial projects in Bytedance Technology. Our approach successfully finds 452 optimized cases which are confirmed by developers.

The search engine Shodan crawls the Internet for, among other things, Industrial Control Systems (ICS). ICS are devices used to operate and automate industrial processes. Due to the increasing popularity of the Internet, these devices are getting more and more connected to the Internet. These devices will, if not hidden, be shown on Shodan. This study uses Shodan, together with data found by other researches to plot the trends of these ICS devices. The studied trends focus on the country percentage distribution and the usage of ICS protocols. The results show that all studied countries, except the United States, have decreased their percentage of world total ICS devices. We suspect that this does not represent the real story, as companies are getting better at hiding their devices from online crawlers. Our results also show that the usage of old ICS protocols is increasing. One of the explanations is that industrial devices, running old communication protocols, are increasingly getting connected to the Internet. In addition to the trend study, we evaluate Shodan by studying the time it takes for Shodan to index one of our devices on several networks. We also study ways of avoiding detection by Shodan and show that, by using a method called port knocking, it is relatively easy for a device to hide from Shodan, but remain accessible for legitimate users.

The article proposes an algorithm for determining the optimal ways for users to travel from one place to another. Traffic jams occur in cities as a result of road repairs and car accidents. As a result, the shortest route planned for the trip can become a useless route. Given these circumstances, the article presents a parallel processing method distributed on a large-scale graph to control traffic. As a result, an algorithm for parallel and distributed processing of large-volume graphs was developed and tested for large-volume data. The test algorithm is illustrated with a wide range of graphs. Experimental experiments of the algorithm were conducted on the basis of data from the city of Urgench, Uzbekistan. © 2021 IEEE.

When developing software, it is vitally important to keep the level of technical debt down since it is well established from several studies that technical debt can, e.g., lower the development productivity, decrease the developers’ morale, and compromise the overall quality of the software. However, even if researchers and practitioners working in today’s software development industry are quite familiar with the concept of technical debt and its related negative consequences, there has been no empirical research focusing specifically on how software managers actively communicate and manage the need to keep the level of technical debt as low as *** paper aims to explore how software companies encourage and reward practitioners for actively keeping the level of technical debt down and also whether the companies use any forcing or penalizing initiatives when managing technical *** paper reports the results of both an online web-survey provided quantitative data from 258 participants and follow-up interviews with 32 industrial software practitioners. The findings show that having a TD management strategy can significantly impact the amount of TD in the software. When surveying how commonly used different TD management strategies are, we found that only the encouraging strategy is, to some extent, adopted in today’s’ software industry. This study also provides a model describing the four assessed strategies by presenting its strategies and tactics, together with recommendations on how they could be operationalized in today’s software companies.

Information security is a major problem today. Different approaches and methods are introduced every day for data protection. One of them is steganography. The word steganography combines the Greek words steganos (sigma tau epsilon gamma alpha nu omicron sigma), meaning "covered, concealed, or protected," and graphein (gamma rho alpha phi epsilon iota nu) meaning "writing". The purpose of steganography is to construct the stego object by placing important information invisible into the ordinary cover object (image, sound, video, text, etc.) and to transmit it to the recipient. In this study, it is aimed to strengthen the LSB technique which is one of the steganography methods by suggesting the use of mask which will provide the least change on the image while hiding the data into a digital image. In the proposed method, the data is also compressed by the LZW algorithm, thus allowing more data to be hidden.

Deep Learning-based Smart Healthcare is getting so much attention due to real-time applicability in everyone life's, and It has obtained more attention with the convergence of IoT. Diabetic eye disease is the primary cause of blindness between working aged peoples. The major populated Asian countries such as India and China presently account for millions of people and at the verge of an eruption of diabetic inhabitants. These growing number of diabetic patients posed a major challenge among trained doctors to provide medical screening and diagnosis. Our goal is to leverage the deep learning techniques to automate the detection of blind spot in an eye and identify how severe the stage may be. In this paper, we propose an optimized technique on top of recently released pre-trained EfficientNet models for blindness identification in retinal images along with a comparative analysis among various other neural network models. Our fine-tuned EfficientNet-B5 based model evaluation follows the benchmark dataset of retina images captured using fundus photography during varied imaging stages and outperforms CNN and ResNet50 models.

The smart grid is one of the most significant applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). As information and communication technologies (ICT) developed and applied in traditional power systems, the improvement of smart grid cyber-physical-systems (CPS) increases too. IoT-based smart grid systems are critical infrastructures, also they have complex architectures and include critical devices. They contain communication systems that can lead to national security deficits, disruption of public order, loss of life or large-scale economic damage when the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of the communication is broken down. These huge systems may be vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Therefore, there is a lot of research effort to enhance smart grid security in industry, government, and academia. The security approaches are important to improve solutions against cyber-attacks in smart grid applications. We present a comprehensive survey supported by a wide review of earlier work. Additionally, recent advances and countermeasures are presented on smart grid cyber-security. In this paper, the threats and potential solutions of the IoT-based smart grid are analyzed. We focus on cyber-attack types and provide an in-depth of the cyber-security state of the smart grid. Particularly, we concentrate on the discussion and examination of network vulnerabilities, attack countermeasures, and security requirements. We aim to supply a deep understanding of cyber-security vulnerabilities and solutions and give a guide on future research directions for cyber-security in smart grid applications. Optimization of Laminar Boundary Layers in Flow over a Flat Plate Using Recent Metaheuristic Algorithms

Heat transfer is one of the most fundamental engineering subjects and is found in every moment of life. Heat transfer problems, such as heating and cooling, where the transfer of heat between regions is calculated, are problems that can give exact solutions with parametric equations, many of which were obtained by solving differential equations in the past. Today, the fact that heat transfer problems have a more complex structure has led to the emergence of multivariate models, and problems that are very difficult to solve with differential equations have emerged. Optimization techniques, which are also the subject of computer science, are frequently used to solve complex problems. In this study, laminar thermal boundary layers in flow over a flat plate, a sub-problem of heat transfer, is solved with recent metaheuristic algorithms. Teaching learning-based optimization (TLBO), sine cosine optimization (SCO), gray wolf optimization (GWO), whale optimization (WO), salp swarm optimization (SSO), and Harris hawk optimization (HHO) algorithms are used in the study. In the optimization problem, the laminar boundary layer thickness, heat flow, and distance from the leading edge are determined. These three models' minimum, maximum, and target values are found under the specified design variables and constraints. In the study, 540 optimization models are run, and it is seen that HHO is the most suitable optimization technique for heat transfer problems. Additionally, SSO and WO algorithms gave results close to HHO. Other algorithms also set model targets with an average of less than 0.07% and acceptable error rates. In addition, the average problem solution time of all optimization algorithms and all models was 0.9 s. To conclude, the recent metaheuristic algorithms are found to be powerful and fast in solving heat transfer problems.
