Affine correspondences have traditionally been used to improve feature matching over wide baselines. While recent work has successfully used affine correspondences to solve various relative camera pose estimation problems, less attention has been given to their use in absolute pose estimation. We introduce the first general solution to the problem of estimating the pose of a calibrated camera given a single observation of an oriented point and an affine correspondence. The advantage of our approach (P1AC) is that it requires only a single correspondence, in comparison to the traditional point-based approach (P3P), significantly reducing the combinatorics in robust estimation. P1AC provides a general solution that removes restrictive assumptions made in prior work and is applicable to large-scale image-based localization. We propose a minimal solution to the P1AC problem and evaluate our novel solver on synthetic data, showing its numerical stability and performance under various types of noise. On standard image-based localization benchmarks we show that P1AC achieves more accurate results than the widely used P3P algorithm. Small lesions play a critical role in early disease diagnosis and intervention of severe infections. Popular models often face challenges in segmenting small lesions, as it occupies only a minor portion of an image, while down-sampling operations may inevitably lose focus on local features of small lesions. To tackle the challenges, we propose a Small-Size-Sensitive Mamba (S3-Mamba), which promotes the sensitivity to small lesions across three dimensions: channel, spatial, and training strategy. Specifically, an Enhanced Visual State Space block is designed to focus on small lesions through multiple residual connections to preserve local features, and selectively amplify important details while suppressing irrelevant ones through channel-wise attention. A Tensor-based Cross-feature Multi-scale Attention is designed to integrate input image features and intermediate-layer features with edge features and exploit the attentive support of features across multiple scales, thereby retaining spatial details of small lesions at various granularities. Finally, we introduce a novel regularized curriculum learning to automatically assess lesion size and sample difficulty, and gradually focus from easy samples to hard ones like small lesions. Extensive experiments on three medical image segmentation datasets show the superiority of our S3-Mamba, especially in segmenting small lesions. The paper outlines the divergence of beam and operating wavelength bands effects on free-space optics communication channels in local access networks. The max Q factor and min bit error rate are measured based on the divergence of beam and operating wavelength bands variations. The signal is tested also at the receiver side by using an optical power meter visualizer at various operating signal wavelength bands and under the optimum values of the divergence of the beam. The rise of mobile payment apps necessitates robust user authentication to ensure legitimate user access. Traditional methods, like passwords and biometrics, are vulnerable once a device is compromised. To overcome these limitations, modern solutions utilize sensor data to achieve user-agnostic and scalable behavioral authentication. However, existing solutions face two problems when deployed to real-world applications. First, it is not robust to noisy background activities. Second, it faces the risks of privacy leakage as it relies on centralized training with users' sensor *** this paper, we introduce FAMOS, a novel authentication framework based on federated multi-modal contrastive learning. The intuition of FAMOS is to fuse multi-modal sensor data and cluster the representation of one user's data by the action category so that we can eliminate the influence of background noise and guarantee the user's privacy. Furthermore, we incorporate FAMOS with federated learning to enhance performance while protecting users' privacy. We comprehensively evaluate FAMOS using real-world datasets and devices. Experimental results show that FAMOS is efficient and accurate for real-world deployment. FAMOS has an F1-Score of 0.91 and an AUC of 0.97, which are 42.19% and 27.63% higher than the baselines, respectively.

This paper investigates the electrical characteristics of a thin glass-fibre membrane to be employed as a support and dielectric substrate for a new kind of deployable antenna mechan-ical structure designed for space-borne Synthetic Aperture Radar sensors on nano-satellite platforms. The approach outlined in this paper relies on cost-effective test fixtures built from material samples originally designed for mechanical testing. A simple Time Domain Reflectometry / Transmissometry (TDR/T) procedure enables the extraction of the material's complex permittivity.

Nowadays, the LCL (inductor-capacitor-inductor) filter is an integral part of every power electronic converter system operating on current control. Though higher order, the LCL filter due to its high harmonic suppression capability are widely adopted in back-to-back converter systems or grid connected converter systems. Normally, with LCL filter, the control system follows double closed loop with outer loop controlling DC voltage and inner loop controlling AC current. However, for some special applications like common DC-bus-configured motor emulator (ME) system, the DC bus voltage is not required to be controlled. In addition, the presence of LCL filter introduces cross coupling of flux and torque component in case of AC motor emulation. The double closed loop control is generally adopted to decouple torque and flux components, however the controller design is more complex process. Therefore, this paper presents a single loop control of a common DC-bus-configured ME system with LCL filter based on state feedback linearization method. The decoupling equations in direct and quadrature axis are derived here. The simulation results presented for a 2.0 kW PMSM motor validate the stability as well as closed loop operation of the system with single loop control. © 2021 IEEE.

Photovoltaic systems (PV) are exposed to various weather conditions during the day and getting the maximum power of a PV system is one of its major challenges. While the conventional methods take time to track the maximum power accompanying the fluctuation around the maximum power. Consequently, several metaheuristic algorithms have been presented to overcome the fluctuating around the maximum power. On the other hand optimization methods will search into entire the PV curve to extract the maximum power. This leads to unnecessary search points during the uniform shading conditions which decrease the convergence speed towards the maximum power. In overcoming the tracking time issues as well as the capacity to distinguish between uniform and partial shading conditions, a quick and efficient tracking technique connected to the grid system was presented in this paper. The proposed system, has been tested using MATLAB/SIMULINK, which includes a boost converter to track the maximum power with a sampling time of 0.05 seconds, While a voltage source converter (VSC) is used to transfer the power generated by solar panels to the grid. The simulation results demonstrated that the proposed method was successfully implemented, with an average tracking time of 0.412 s for different weather conditions. Moreover, the comparison with the conventional method of perturb and observe (P& O) has been presented to evaluate the proposed method’s efficiency.

Image fusion combines the complementary traits of source images into a single output, enhancing both human visual observation and machine vision perception. The existing fusion algorithms typically prioritize visual enhancement, often overlooking the real-time needs for critical surveillance applications. To address these real-time deployment needs, we present a compact fusion network for combining infrared and visible image representations, named Light-weight Fusion (LightFusion). This network employs incremental semantic integration and scene recognition accuracy constraints by incorporating three different bands of images (IR, RGB, and Grayscale) to fuse the data. Our approach includes a sparse semantic perception branch that captures critical semantic features, which are then integrated into the fusion network through a semantic injection module. This ensures that high-level vision tasks are adequately addressed. The scene fidelity path ensures that fusion features preserve all details required to reconstruct the original images. The importance and applicability of the proposed network are enhanced by employing an extra input in the form of a grayscale image, obtained by converting the RGB image for improved contrast, along with prominent target masks to enhance the visual quality of the fusion results. Our extensive analysis shows that the lightweight LightFusion network outperforms existing methods in both visual quality and semantic integrity, even under challenging conditions. This work clarified the conventional/phase shift dual Mach-Zehnder modulation measured technique for upgrading radio over fiber (ROF) systems. Four levels of pulse amplitude modulation and non-return to zero code scheme are employed in different previous studies for upgrading ROF systems. The possible transmission distance is extended to 150 km and a bit rate of 40 Gb/s for achieved acceptable max. Q factor of 13.7498 and minimum bit error rates of 1.82×10-43. The total optical received power is measured at fiber cable length for maximum distance. Also, in the same way, the signal power levels are measured after fiber optic cable and avalanche photo detector optical receiver. The proposed model has presented the enhancement percentage ratio of 13.654% over the previous models in signal quality enhancement. © 2020 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
