Recently software crowdsourcing has become an emerging area of softwareengineering. Few papers have pre- sented a systematic analysis on the practices of software crowdsourcing. This paper first presents an evaluation frame- work to evaluate software crowdsourcing projects with re- spect to softwarequality, costs, diversity of solutions, and competition nature in crowdsourcing. Specifically, competi- tions are evaluated by the min-max relationship from game theory among participants where one party tries to minimize an objective function while the other party tries to maximize the same objective function. The paper then defines a game theory model to analyze the primary factors in these min- max competition rules that affect the nature of participation as well as the softwarequality. Finally, using the proposed eval- uation framework, this paper illustrates two crowdsourcing processes, Harvard-TopCoder and AppStori. The framework demonstrates the sharp contrasts between both crowdsourc- ing processes as participants will have drastic behaviors in engaging these two projects.

In this paper, an optimized mechanism for Semiconductor wafer fabrication (SWF) by integrating the Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) with Simulated annealing (SA) algorithm is proposed. In this approach, aiming to solve the rush order problem which significantly affect the cycle time and impact the Work in process (WIP) of lots due to the high priority, we build an ANFIS based prediction model which will be embedded into releasing to forecast product codes and quantities of the contingent rush orders. Then a scheduler based on SA algorithm is constructed, the coding of which represents a combination of scheduling policies, including lot releasing policies, dispatching rules, batching rules and settingup rules. When the SA finished its optimization process, an optimal scheduling policy is produced. By using the proposed approach, we will find that the system can be optimized to a large extent and give a better performance.

This paper is concerned with the H_∞ consensus control problem in undirected networks of autonomous agents with nonlinear dynamics, subject to parameter uncertainties and external disturbances. With the consideration of time-varying delays arising from communication among agents, a distributed protocol is proposed using the local delayed state information. Then, by defining an appropriate controlled output function, the consensus problem under the proposed protocol is converted into an H_∞ control problem. Based on robust H_∞ theory, sufficient conditions are derived to make all agents achieve consensus with desired H_∞ performance. Moreover, the feedback matrix in the proposed protocol is determined by solving two linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) with the same dimensions as a single agent. Finally, a numerical simulation is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

This paper investigates the problem of tracking a moving target using multiple fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under a new bicircular formation. This new formation for cooperative standoff target tracking is first developed by maximizing the amount of Fisher information. Guidance vector fields are designed, and based on them, a cooperation approach is proposed to adapt the unknown target velocity and achieve the cooperative bicircular tracking. Speed and heading rate are firstly controlled to track the guidance vector fields separately for each UAV, then the speed is further adjusted to maintain the desired angular separation between the UAVs. Simulation experiments are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

In this paper, an adaptive output feedback tracking control scheme is proposed for spacecraft formation flying (SFF) in the presence of external disturbances, uncertain system parameters, input constraints and partial loss of control effectiveness. The proposed controller incorporates a pseudo-velocity filter to account for the unmeasured relative velocity, and the neural network (NN) technique is implemented to approximate the desired nonlinear function and bounded external disturbances. In order to guarantee that the output of the NN used in the controller is bounded by the corresponding bound of the approximated nonlinear function, a switch function is employed to generate a switching between the adaptive NN control and the robust controller. Moreover, a fault tolerant part is included in the controller to compensate the partial loss of actuator effectiveness fault. It is shown that the derived controller not only guarantees the tracking error in the closed-loop system to be uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) but also ensures the control input can rigorously enforce actuator magnitude constraints. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Can one estimate the number of remaining faults in a software system? A credible estimation technique would be immensely useful to project managers as well as customers. It would also be of theoretical interest, as a general law of softwareengineering. We investigate possible answers in the context of automated random testing, a method that is increasingly accepted as an effective way to discover faults. Our experimental results, derived from best-fit analysis of a variety of mathematical functions, based on a large number of automated tests of library code equipped with automated oracles in the form of contracts, suggest a poly-logarithmic law. Although further confirmation remains necessary on different code bases and testing techniques, we argue that understanding the laws of testing may bring significant benefits for estimating the number of detectable faults and comparing different projects and practices. This paper presents an industrial case study of coverage-based prioritisation techniques on a real world system with real regression faults. The study evaluates four common and different test case prioritisation techniques and examines the effects of using various coverage criteria on the fault detection rates of the prioritised test suites. The results show that prioritisation techniques that are based on additional coverage with finer grained coverage criteria perform significantly better in fault detection rates. The study also reveals that using modification information does not significantly enhance fault detection rates.

Service innovation has assumed considerable significance with the growth of the services sectors of economies globally, yet progress has been slow in devising carefully formulated, systematic techniques to under pin service innovation. This paper argues that a novel approach to big data analytics offers interesting solutions in this space. The paper argues that the use of big data analytics for generating enterprise service insights is often ignored (while the extraction of insights about customers, the market and the enterprise context has received considerable attention). The paper offers a set of techniques (collectively referred to as innovation harvesting) which leverage big data in various forms, including object state sensor data, behaviour logs as well large-scale sources of open data such as the web to mine service innovation insights. The paper also outlines how systematic search might help overcome the limitations of big data analytics in this space.
