The complexity and diversity of smart grid systems increase the likelihood of anomalies in communications between devices in the system, and how these anomalies are detected is critical to the security of the grid system. However, the distribution of traffic types in the grid is often highly unbalanced, with the total amount of normal traffic data often far outweighing the anomalous data. This imbalance compromises the effectiveness of the detection model and poses a significant threat to the overall security of the grid. This paper improves on traditional conditional generation adversarial neural networks and designs a new approach to overcome this obstacle and enhance the security of smart grid systems. In the generator part, the spatial features of the data are captured by convolutional neural networks, and the temporal features of the data are captured by gated recurrent units. By integrating these two components into the generative network, we can generate synthetic data with both temporal and spatial features, thus enhancing the minority class samples. By incorporating the augmented minority data into the training process, the proposed approach enables the detection model to understand the distribution of features of the minority anomaly samples more accurately. This improved learning accuracy translates into improved model performance, resulting in higher detection rates for previously under-represented anomalies. In addition, our approach effectively addresses the inherent bias towards traffic types with higher flows typically observed in asymmetric datasets, thus providing a more equitable and comprehensive security solution for smart grid systems.

Network failures are unavoidable and occur *** the network fails,intra-domain routing protocols deploying on the Internet need to undergo a long convergence *** this period,a large number of messages are discarded,which results in a decline in the user experience and severely affects the quality of service of Internet Service Providers(ISP).Therefore,improving the availability of intra-domain routing is a trending research question to be *** usually employs routing protection algorithms to improve intra-domain routing ***,existing routing protection schemes compute as many backup paths as possible to reduce message loss due to network failures,which increases the cost of the network and impedes the methods deployed in *** address the issues,this study proposes an efficient routing protection algorithm based on optimized network topology(ERPBONT).ERPBONT adopts the optimized network topology to calculate a backup path with the minimum path coincidence degree with the shortest path for all source ***,the backup path with the minimum path coincidence with the shortest path is described as an integer programming *** the simulated annealing algorithm ERPBONT is used to find the optimal ***,the algorithm is tested on the simulated topology and the real *** experimental results show that ERPBONT effectively reduces the path coincidence between the shortest path and the backup path,and significantly improves the routing availability.

A Dimensional Structure based Knowledge Distillation Method for Cross-Modal Learning

Due to limitations in data quality, some essential visual tasks are difficult to perform independently. Introducing previously unavailable information to transfer informative dark knowledge has been a common way to solve such hard tasks. However, research on why transferred knowledge works has not been extensively explored. To address this issue, in this paper, we discover the correlation between feature discriminability and dimensional structure (DS) by analyzing and observing features extracted from simple and hard tasks. On this basis, we express DS using deep channel-wise correlation and intermediate spatial distribution, and propose a novel cross-modal knowledge distillation (CMKD) method for better supervised cross-modal learning (CML) performance. The proposed method enforces output features to be channel-wise independent and intermediate ones to be uniformly distributed, thereby learning semantically irrelevant features from the hard task to boost its accuracy. This is especially useful in specific applications where the performance gap between dual modalities is relatively large. Furthermore, we collect a real-world CML dataset to promote community development. The dataset contains more than 10, 000 paired optical and radar images and is continuously being updated. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a new computing paradigm that enables cloud computing and information technology (IT) services to be delivered at the network’s edge. By shifting the load of cloud computing to individual local servers, MEC helps meet the requirements of ultralow latency, localized data processing, and extends the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) for end-users. However, the crosscutting nature of MEC and the multidisciplinary components necessary for its deployment have presented additional security and privacy concerns. Fortunately, Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms can cope with excessively unpredictable and complex data, which offers a distinct advantage in dealing with sophisticated and developing adversaries in the security industry. Hence, in this paper we comprehensively provide a survey of security and privacy in MEC from the perspective of AI. On the one hand, we use European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) MEC reference architecture as our based framework while merging the software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to better illustrate a serviceable platform of MEC. On the other hand, we focus on new security and privacy issues, as well as potential solutions from the viewpoints of AI. Finally, we comprehensively discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with applying AI to MEC security and privacy as possible future research directions. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Internet of Things, edge computing devices, the widespread use of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, and the extensive adoption of cloud computing pose significant challenges to maintaining fault tolerance in distributed systems. As the volume and complexity of systems continue to grow, the probability of system failures also grows, leading to downtime and poor performance. Fault tolerance is pivotal in modern computing systems by preventing downtime and service disruptions, even during failures. However, adopting fault tolerance comes with additional resource consumption, such as memory, CPU, disk, and network bandwidth usage, impacting system performance. Balancing fault tolerance with system performance is crucial to optimize resource utilization while minimizing the costs associated with detecting and recovering from faults. This paper introduces a node-to-node fault tolerance coordination mechanism for distributed systems to facilitate the tradeoff between fault tolerance and the cost of performance penalties and resource consumption. The proposed mechanism is preliminarily implemented on HDFS cluster. Our proposal enables opportunities to minimize the cost of the fault tolerance impact on performance and resource usage compared to the existing fault tolerance coordination mechanism.

Due to the prevalence of the COVID-19 epidemic around the globe, children were compelled to engage in remote learning through online platforms, hence mobile phone has become one of their predominant devices. Mobile device with Internet access offers a major outlet for education, entertainment, and social connection, but this combination can lead to several significant bad sequences such as online exploitation, harmful addictions, and other negative impacts of online social networking. To address harmful effects, parental controls are becoming more crucial, yet Sri Lankan parents are less aware of this. Consequently, this study proposes a parental control system to monitor their child’s activities. Android, Microsoft Azure, Java, Python, OpenCV, MySQL, and FastAPI are among the most prominent technologies utilized in the proposed application’s development. The suggested approach focuses primarily on the Sri Lankan context and aims to enhance parental digital literacy while safeguarding children from cyber threats. Yielded results showed the proposed mobile application for the identification of toxic words, drugs & alcohol content, game character images, and Instagram Sinhala comments severity as 94%, 95%, 97%, and 55% respectively in controlled experiments.

Service Migration in Mec: An Approach Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning and Fuzzy Logic

As a new computing paradigm, Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) sinks resources to the network edge to support real-time re-sponses of services. Facing the demand for migrating services caused by the frequent movement of the mobile device, it is a great challenge to reduce the operation costs of migrating services with user requirements satisfied, especially for the continu-ous optimization of services deployed in hot spot areas. In order to address the above challenge, we propose the mechanism of dynamically migrating and optimally deploying services, which optimizes the latency and energy consumption of the service mi-gration. Firstly, we introduce Markov Decision Process (MDP) to model changes of deployment locations of the single-user ser-vice, and devise the approach to determine whether to migrate a service at the current network status based on the dueling Deep Q-Network (DQN). Secondly, we propose the service pre-migration decision approach to determine where to migrate a ser-vice by combining the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network and the attention mechanism, so as to determine the future moving area of the user and perform the migration decision in advance with the impact of migration service on service quality considered. Finally, we devise the distance-weighted matching algorithm based on the fuzzy logic to further optimize the selec-tion of the most appropriate services to migrate in hotspot areas and the corresponding service migration regions, thus, the load pressure of the edge computing node caused by the imbalanced deployment density of service among multiple regions. Simula-tion results show that the proposed mechanism has significant improvements in overall operating costs compared with the cur-rent state of the art. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

software or application testing is a process of executing a program with the goal of finding defect to make better system. In software testing phase, writing test cases is one of the important activities. Manually writing test cases approach is lengthy of time period and need more effort to accomplish the process. This paper describes test case, test case generation techniques, different types of software testing approaches and comparison of testing tool. Test cases usually writing at the beginning of testing process from the set of software requirements. Test cases are created by using two different approaches. One is manually written test cases and another is automatically generated test cases. Manually written test cases are a very lengthy process and need to give a lot of effort to make good quality test cases. Pointsurface: Discriminative Point Cloud Surface Feature Extraction for 3d Face Recognition

3D face recognition performs better than 2D face recognition, in terms of robustness against lighting and digital attacks. Compared to 2D data, the rich geometric information in 3D data could be very useful to improve the performance of 3D face recognition. This paper introduces PointSurFace, a surface feature extraction integrated model tailored for point cloud based 3D face recognition. PointSurFace adopts a specially designed surface feature extraction module, which explores information about the position and normals of the 3D face surface to explicitly extract local discriminative features from 3D point cloud faces. Subsequently, it alternates between set abstraction (SA) layers and Inverted Residual MLP (InvResMLP) modules to effectively extract features from the point cloud data. To better handle the spatial relationships in the point cloud data, PointSurFace integrates coordinate and feature data within each SA layer and InvResMLP module. It also applies channel fusion operations to align these different types of data, thereby more effectively extracts point cloud features. Experimental results in 3D facial recognition and verification across multiple datasets demonstrate that PointSurFace achieves the best 3D face recognition performance to date. For example, on Lock3DFace, it achieves the state-of-the-art recognition and verification accuracy of 90.03% and 80.01%, respectively, surpassing previous methods by 2.02% and 3.19%. Results on cross-quality datasets also affirm PointSurFace’s strong generalization capabilities. Ablation experiments validate the effectiveness of each module within PointSurFace, which suggests that the proposed surface feature extraction module significantly enhances the point cloud based 3D facial recognition performance. © 2024, The Authors. Ubiquitination is a prevalent and reversible post-translational modification (PTM) that controls apoptosis and plays a crucial role in protein breakdown and cell disorders. Ubiquitination also involved in the control of a number of physiological mechanisms such as cellular proliferation, gene transcription, intracellular signaling, DNA correction, and synthesis. However, experimental identification of ubiquitination sites prediction is time-consuming and costly, so it is an urgent need to construct effective predictors. In this paper, a novel predictor called UbiSite-DeepWET has been developed to accurately predict ubiquitination sites from sequences using a convolutional neural network (CNN) model. First, we perform nine feature extraction method, namely Amino Acid Composition (AAC), Dipeptide Compostion (DPC), Composition of k-spaced Amino Acid Pairs (CKSAAP), Pseudo-Amino Acid Composition (PAAC), Amino Acid index (AAindex) database, Word2Vec, GloVe and fastText, to represent protein sequence patterns. Secondly, SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) are used to remove unnecessary and irrelevant features for predicting ubiquitination sites. Finally, the best features are fed into the CNN classifier to build the UbiSite-DeepWET model for identifying the protein ubiquitination sites. Five-fold cross validation shows that the AUC values of Set1-Set6 datasets are 0.8846, 0.7764, 0.7881, 0.7740, 0.6870 and 0.7238, respectively. The Adaptive synthetic sampling approach (ADASYN) is applied in Set4 to Set6 unbalanced datasets, and the AUC values are 0.9929, 0.9975 and 0.9971, respectively. Additionally, we have created three independent test (IT) datasets which the AUC values are 0.8529, 0.6215 and 0.6001, respectively. The results demonstrate that the proposed technique UbiSite-DeepWET outperforms conventional ubiquitination prediction methods and offers new guidance for the identification of ubiquitination sites.
