According to the requirement of recognizing traffic police gestures for driver assistance systems and intelligent vehicles, a universal model for dynamic traffic police gesture recognition is firstly introduced, of which can accurately present the spatial context (such as the relative lengths of skeletons, the angles between each skeleton w. r. t. gravity, and part features) of the traffic police gestures. Secondly, an architecture which can respectively extract spatial context and temporal features of dynamic traffic police gesture is proposed. Meanwhile, deep neural network and LSTM are introduced to build a high-resolution traffic police gestures recognizer (namely HRTPGR). At last, the open Police Gesture Dataset is used to train and test TPGR, and the experimental results show that the TPGR achieves a state-of-the-art accuracy with 98.7% for dynamic traffic police gestures recognition, and has strong anti-interference ability to light, background and gesture shape changes. © 2023 IEEE.

Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) are at the heart of almost every software we encounter. GUIs are often created through a collaborative effort involving UX designers, product owners, and software developers, constantly facing changing requirements. Historically, problems in GUI development include a fragmented, poorly integrated tool landscape and high synchronization efforts between stakeholders. Recent approaches suggest using large language models (LLMs) to recognize requirements fulfillment in GUIs and automatically propose new GUI components. Based on ten interviews with practitioners, this paper proposes an LLM-based assistant as a Figma plug-in that bridges the gap between user stories and GUI prototyping. We evaluated the prototype with 40 users and 40 crowd-workers, showing that the effectiveness of GUI creation is improved by using LLMs to detect requirements' completion and generate new GUI components. We derive design rationales to support cross-functional integration in software development, ensuring that our plug-in integrates well into established processes. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The article proposes models of the structural reliability of a multipath routing network with the possibility of its reconfiguration when switching path segments. The models are focused on optimizing the placement of segment switching nodes, aimed at achieving maximum network performance with the option of connecting request sources to the available communication paths with servers. The study considers the options for connecting each source of requests with one of the paths or with all paths for connecting to servers. The paper shows the existence of an optimal placement of path switching nodes, in which the maximum reliability of the system is achieved. © 2023 IEEE.

Given maize’s significant role as a staple crop, it becomes imperative to carry out precise crop yield prediction to ensure food security. This research employs machine learning algorithms to analyze historical data related to maize crop yields, with the aim of developing a predictive model. The outcome of this study can serve as a valuable tool for pre-harvest planning and measuring crop production per unit of land area. The dataset utilized in this research spans from 2010 to 2021 and was sourced from Ethiopia’s Central Statistical Agency. Three machine learning regression algorithms—Logistic Regression, XGBoost, and Random Forest—were employed to design the predictive model. After data preparation and preprocessing, a total of 436,358 records were used for model development. The models were further trained with reduced features using principal component analysis (PCA). The experimental results demonstrate that the Random Forest algorithm, trained with a reduced number of features through PCA, yielded superior performance, with a lower error rate and a high R2 score of 0.98. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Safe binary execution is often a crucial requirement in today's security critical computing infrastructures. WebAssembly is an emerging language designed for safe binary execution that has been deployed in many security critical domains, such as blockchain, edge computing, and clouds. However, WebAssembly's security guarantee is not a cure-all, and recent studies have revealed a large spectrum of security issues such as integer overflows and memory vulnerabilities, leading to serious security hazards to WebAssembly applications. In this paper, we propose the first automated bug detection framework for WebAssembly programs based on dynamic program analysis, directly on WebAssembly binaries. To realize the whole process, we present WASMDYPA, the dynamic bug detection system, consisting of three primary components: 1) an input generator for WebAssembly binaries; 2) a static instrumentation hook providing extensible interfaces to collect runtime information; and 3) dynamic program analysis algorithms as security plugins to detect vulnerabilities. We have implemented a software prototype for WASMDYPA, and have conducted experiments to evaluate the effectiveness, usefulness, performance and overhead of our approach. Experimental results demonstrated that WASMDyPA can accurately detect vulnerabilities with a 88.24% precision and a 93.75% recall. Furthermore, WAS-MDyPA detected 56 bugs in real-world WebAssembly programs, including 2 integer overflows and 54 memory bugs.

The article explores the possibility of improving the reliability of a network with multipath routing. A feature of the proposed study is the analysis of the influence of the placement of switching nodes that switch path segments on the probability of network connectivity with servers of the same type and heterogeneous in functionality. The purpose of the article is to increase the reliability of the network, taking into account the influence of the placement of communication nodes that implement the switching of route segments during reconfiguration, on the connectivity of the network with servers that are homogeneous and heterogeneous in functionality. The research involves the construction of a structural reliability model that takes into account the possibility of failures of both communication nodes and the links between them. The reliability model is built taking into account the availability of request sources with full and non-full access connections to the set of network paths. © 2023 IEEE.

Noise suppression and understanding speech in a complex environment with the presence of numerous and dominant surrounding noise is very difficult for humans. To deal with this problem, microphone array, which exploit a priori information of designed geometry of microphone array, the direction of arrival (DOA) of interest signal or the properties of recorded situation, is used with aiming at preserving the desired speaker without speech distortion while reducing background noise. Generalized Sidelobe Canceller (GSC) beamformer has been installed in almost all acoustic equipment, hearing aids, mobile phones. Unfortunately, the performance of GSC beamformer is often corrupted in many scenarios, such as imprecise DOA, microphone mismatches or different microphone sensitivities. In this paper, a spectral mask - based suggested algorithm to reduce the speech leakage in the reference signal of GSC beamformer. The proposed method is evaluated for increasing the speech quality of dual - microphone systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Mobility is the biggest issue for blind individuals. In order to move around, they must rely on others. Therefore, we are creating a navigational aid for blind people, to help the blind people in the world from various difficulties they face in day-to-day life. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that a survey was conducted in 2014 and that there are an estimated 285 million visually impaired persons worldwide, of which 37 million are blind, with over 15 million of them being Indian. The majority of blind persons depend on other people for their activities since INDIA accounts for 21% of the global population of blind people (Khanam et al. in Int J Adv Res Sci Eng 7:195–199, 2018). Smart shoes play an important role. Obstacle detection is performed using ultrasonic sensor which is also done by many people in the previous projects or researches. The new concept that is included in this paper is that it can also detect any flame and potholes around the person using flame sensor and ultrasonic sensor, respectively. And we use shock sensor to detect any shock that occurs. If the smart assistive device or smart shoes senses an object, a pothole, a fire (from about three feet away), or a shock in front of the user, a buzzer will sound. Speech processing devices such as mobile telephone, hearing aid, cochlear implant is commonly equipped with a designed microphone array (MA) to capture the acoustic environment. The MA signals often contain a mixture of desired speech component and unwanted surrounding noise (a combination of reverberation, different interferences, complex recording environment, third-party speaker). Minimum Distortionless Variance Response (MVDR) beamformer is one the most useful methods for reducing background noise and improving speech enhancement has been recently studied. MVDR beamformer merges the predefined constraints of response from a priori relative transfer function and the criteria of minimum total output noise power. Because of the microphone mismatches, the different microphone sensitivities, or the error of the direction of arrival of the interest signal, the output final signal of MVDR beamformer often corrupted. In this paper, the authors proposed an additive gain function for reducing speech distortion and enhancing MVDR beamformer's performance. © 2023 IEEE.

To enhance the privacy of messages in Internet of Vehicles (IoVs), it is critical to preserve the communication security between Road Side Unit (RSU) and numerous vehicles. The primitive of signcryption is introduced to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity and unforgeability of transmitted messages. Nevertheless, the existing signcryption schemes fail to achieve a balance between security and efficiency. In this paper, we construct a Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) empowered certificateless aggregate signcryption scheme with key agreement (CASKA-CRT). As the vehicle joins and leaves dynamically, the proposed scheme can ensure the dynamic security via one modulo division operation. Besides, the certificateless aggregate signcryption and key agreement mechanisms are embedded. The former idea can both address the certificate management and key escrow problems, while the latter technology can create authentication as a premise of secure communication. Based on this construction, the hash-to-group operation and bilinear pairing are avoided, to realize a faster verification with the increased number of messages. Moreover, the security of proposed scheme is proved under the random oracle model. Finally, the performance analysis demonstrates the advantage of CASKA-CRT in terms of security and reliability over related works. IEEE
