With the existing deep learning models in predicting multiple diseases primarily focus on analyzing individual diseases in isolation, lacking a unified system for multi-disease prediction. This project presents an approach to predict multiple diseases using Flask API, with a specific focus on brain tumors, COVID-19 and pneumonia. The proposed work represents a significant contribution to the field of disease prediction, harnessing the power of deep learning algorithms and modern web application development. The primary focus is on disease prediction, with a particular emphasis on ensuring accuracy and accessibility for end-users. The initial phase of this research involves data collection, where relevant datasets of various diseases are gathered. These datasets serve as the foundation for training and validating the deep learning models. Two prominent deep learning algorithms, Sequential CNN and VGG16, are employed for this purpose. These algorithms are chosen for their ability to handle complex data and recognize patterns within medical images and other health-related data. The core of the research involves training the deep learning models using the collected datasets. This step is crucial in enabling the models to learn and generalize from the provided data, ultimately enhancing their predictive capabilities. The models are modified to elevate their performance and accuracy. Following the training phase, the models are rigorously tested to evaluate their predictive accuracy. This assessment is vital in gauging the real-world applicability of the models in medical diagnosis. To make these powerful disease prediction models accessible to a wider audience, a front-end web application is developed.

The rise of smart cities is directly connected to the increasing use of vehicles. The growing vehicle utilization has driven the emergence of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs), facilitating instant information exchange among vehicles. The system provides essential information regarding road conditions, traffic patterns, and more relevant data. VANETs encompass two fundamental categories of communication exchanges, namely Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I). V2I technology facilitates the integration of cars and transportation infrastructure, enabling effective communication between vehicles and infrastructure. Nevertheless, the potential of V2I communication has various security concerns arising from prevalent security threats. Current authentication techniques encounter challenges regarding complexity, security, and privacy considerations. We designed a hash-based lightweight and anonymous authentication scheme to address the aforementioned restrictions and enhance the effectiveness of authentication in V2I architecture. This scheme effectively combines identity, password, and bio-metric to enhance resistance against impersonation, denial of service, and privileged insider attacks. The devised scheme distinguishes itself by a comparative analysis and security proofs, highlighting its superior capability in guaranteeing secure authentication in V2I communication. The comprehensive security analysis conducted formally and informally showcases the robustness of the proposed solution against several threats. The performance evaluation results show that our scheme demonstrates a decrease in the computational cost of 51.40% approximately and a reduction in communication overhead of around 22.57%. These results establish the efficiency and scalability of the proposed scheme as a viable solution for V2I architecture. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

WebAssembly, a new binary instruction set, has rapidly gained popularity across fields such as blockchain, edge computing, and cloud computing due to its efficiency, security, and portability. However, recent research has identified limitations in WebAssembly’s type system and linear memory design, leading to security issues such as integer overflows and memory safety *** this paper, we present WasmChecker, the first static analysis approach for WebAssembly programs based on abstract interpretation. WasmChecker consists of three components: a frontend module for parsing and constructing control flow graphs, a static analysis module for iterative state analysis, and a vulnerability filtering module to identify security flaws. We design and implement a software prototype and conduct extensive evaluations. Experiments demonstrate WasmChecker’s effectiveness, achieving a 97.33% recall in a small dataset and accurately identifying 46 vulnerabilities across four real-world datasets, with a 92% recall rate. Additionally, WasmChecker shows high efficiency, with an average runtime of 13.85 seconds on WebAssembly programs smaller than 1 MB.

In this paper, we discuss the collective behavior of drone swarms and remark that the swarm behavior can be realized by pinning a few nodes. Additionally, the selection of pinning nodes effects the global characteristic. Compared with other methods, the uniform degree selection of pinning nodes in a swarm exhibits better performance. In order to verify the effectiveness of our pinning strategy, we conduct simulations in a self-driven drone swarm, in which the experimental results confirm the availability of our conclusion. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

DMSD-CDFSAR: Distillation from Mixed-Source Domain for Cross-Domain Few-shot Action Recognition

Few-shot action recognition is an emerging field in computer vision, primarily focused on meta-learning within the same domain. However, challenges arise in real-world scenario deployment, as gathering extensive labeled data within a specific domain is laborious and time-intensive. Thus, attention shifts towards cross-domain few-shot action recognition, requiring the model to generalize across domains with significant deviations. Therefore, we propose a novel approach, "Distillation from Mixed-Source Domain", tailored to address this conundrum. Our method strategically integrates insights from both labeled data of the source domain and unlabeled data of the target domain during the training. The ResNet18 is used as the backbone to extract spatial features from the source and target domains. We design two branches for meta-training: the original-source and the mixed-source branches. In the first branch, a Domain Temporal Encoder is employed to capture temporal features for both the source and target domains. Additionally, a Domain Temporal Decoder is employed to reconstruct all extracted features. In the other branch, a Domain Mixed Encoder is used to handle labeled source domain data and unlabeled target domain data, generating mixed-source domain features. We incorporate a pre-training stage before meta-training, featuring a network architecture similar to that of the first branch. Lastly, we introduce a dual distillation mechanism to refine the classification probabilities of source domain features, aligning them with those of mixed-source domain features. This iterative process enriches the insights of the original-source branch with knowledge from the mixed-source branch, thereby enhancing the model’s generalization capabilities. This comprehensive framework enables robust few-shot action recognition across diverse domains, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach in addressing real-world challenges. With the recent advancements in medicine and biotechnology, there is always a growing need for more sophisticated decision systems to aid in certain biological factors, such as detecting a pathogen or microscopic organism and its accurate classification. In such a domain, there is very little tolerance for error, and the highest priority must be given to creating intelligent systems capable of doing so. Advancements in computer vision and other state-of-the-art image processing techniques enable computation systems to extract and analyze principal features from a specimen that even a trained eye may otherwise miss. There has also been an upsurge in the research on the applications of machine learning to aid in specific surgical procedures and diagnostic tests. Classifying organisms at the micro-scale is an essential stepping stone for their long-term success. The study aims to ensembling the best machine learning techniques and models in the computer vision domain, such as transfer learning, top-performing models, and image preprocessing methods, to maximize the capabilities of a typical image classification model for a sparse and limited multi-labeled class dataset containing microscopic images and hence shed light and explore into how more excellent performance can be obtained while facing classical dataset limitations. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Social media is a crucial aspect of modern society, shaping global communication and information exchange. Social media slang encompasses informal language expressions, abbreviations, and unconventional words on these platforms, serving purposes such as concise communication and identity establishment. Data analytics from social media slang plays a vital role in providing real-time trends, enhancing sentiment analysis, and improving the accuracy of predictive models by capturing evolving linguistic trends. This study aims to address gaps in existing social media slang analytics by proposing a three-step process for extracting and validating domain-specific social media slang terms, specifically focusing on the domain of anxiety prediction in the context of mental health. The proposed approach involves the identification of relevant users, extraction of social media slang terms, and validation by subject matter experts. A pilot study is conducted in the domain of anxiety prediction, employing a self-prepared questionnaire and involving participants aged 13-14 from schools in Selangor, Malaysia. The pilot study identifies ten social media slang terms associated with anxiety, validated by subject matter experts who are licensed mental health practitioners. The slang terms exhibit varying prevalence levels among adolescents, with some terms absent from popular slang dictionaries like Urban Dictionary. The findings highlight the need for extracting slang terms from pertinent users and subject matter expert validation in incorporating social media slang into more appropriate predictive analytics. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper,the abnormal experimental phenomenon on barrel erosion under extreme working conditions in the ultra-long life experiment(>10000 h)of ion thruster ion optics is studied by the Immersed-Finite-Element Particle-In-Cell Monte-Carlo-Collision(IFE-PIC-MCC)method and the grid erosion evaluation *** transport process of beam ions and Charge Exchange(CEX)ions in the grid system,and the characteristics and mechanisms of the aperture barrel erosion under extreme erosion conditions(*** cylindrical erosion and chamfer erosion)were systematically *** to the advantage of the IFE method for dealing with complex boundaries in structured mesh,the aperture barrel erosion morphology of the accelerator grid is reconstructed accurately based on the experimental *** results show that,with the evolution of working conditions,the mechanism of the aperture barrel erosion changes significantly,which relies heavily on the accelerator grid *** change of the accelerator grid aperture barrel morphology has a significant effect on the behavior of CEX ions,and only affects the local electric field distribution,but has no effect on the upstream plasma *** the erosion progresses,the erosion position moves downstream along the grid aperture axis direction,and the erosion range becomes *** of the erosion phase,the erosion rate of the CEX ions located downstream of the decelerator grid is the *** erosion rate is related to the mean incident energy and angle,and their variation is closely related to the position and trajectory of CEXions.

During software evolution, it is advocated that test code should co-evolve with production code. In real development scenarios, test updating may lag behind production code changing, which may cause compilation failure or bring other troubles. Existing techniques based on pre-trained language models can be directly adopted to repair obsolete tests caused by such unsynchronized code changes, especially syntactic-related ones. However, the lack of task-oriented contextual information affects the repair accuracy on large-scale projects. Starting from an obsolete test, the key challenging task is precisely identifying and constructing Test-Repair-Oriented Contexts (TROCtxs) from the whole repository within a limited token *** this paper, we propose Synter (SYNtactic-breaking- changes-induced TEst Repair), a novel approach based on LLMs to automatically repair obsolete test cases via precise and concise TROCtxs construction. Inspired by developers’ programming practices, we design three types of TROCtx: class context, usage context, and environment context. Given an obsolete test case to repair, Synter firstly collects the related code information for each type of TROCtx through static analysis techniques automatically. Then, it generates reranking queries to identify the most relevant TROCtxs, which will be taken as the repair-required key contexts and be input to the large language model for the final test *** evaluate the effectiveness of Synter, we construct a benchmark dataset that contains a set of obsolete tests caused by syntactic breaking changes. The experimental results show that Synter outperforms baseline approaches both on textual- and intent-matching metrics. With the augmentation of constructed TROCtxs, hallucinations are reduced by 57.1%.

Federated learning (FL) emerges as an innovative approach to manage a collection of client UAVs in order to co-train machine-learning models that are readily integrated into an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) swarm. However, due to more erratic communication conditions than in terrestrial wireless networks, synchronous aggregation - which is utilized in traditional FL - is no longer feasible in UAV swarm. Additionally, because of the various deployment zones or specifications of UAVs, the data gathered by them are frequently heterogeneous. A significant amount of unlabeled data will be collected by the UAV swarm in light of its new flight trajectory and unseen scenarios. To address these issues, we propose a unique Semi-synchronous Federated Cross-Sharpness Learning (SFedXSL) framework to tackle the problems of semisynchronous devices and unlabeled data. This framework incorporates unsupervised pre-training and client UAV clustering scheduling. These proposed techniques aim to unlock the full potential of unlabeled and labeled user data, expediting the training process. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm surpasses state-of-the-art FL techniques in terms of objection recognition accuracy and service latency. © 2024 IEEE.
