The landscape of cybersecurity in manufacturing exhibits a dynamic interplay between evolving threats and vulnerabilities against innovative defense mechanisms. With the increasing adoption of smart and cloud-controlled technologies, there is a growing emphasis on securing manufacturing systems from cyberattacks. Future trends indicate a shift toward implementing more advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning for threat identification, attack detection, and response. In addition, the adoption of secure-by-design principles in product development and the integration of blockchain technology for ensuring the integrity of supply chain data are expected to become more prevalent. As manufacturers continue to digitize and connect their operations, collaboration between industry stakeholders, government agencies, and cybersecurity experts will be crucial in developing robust defense strategies against evolving security threats. This Special Issue provided a platform for the research advancing understanding of and addressing these threats. The article by Rahman et al., “Taxonomy-Driven Graph-Theoretic Framework for Manufacturing Cybersecurity Risk Modeling and Assessment,” presents a taxonomy-driven graph-theoretic model and framework to represent the threat landscape of cybersecurity and identify vulnerable manufacturing assets. The model and framework contain three techniques to address identified research challenges. First, the proposed framework characterizes threat actors' techniques, tactics, and procedures using taxonomical classifications of manufacturing-specific threat attributes and integrates these attributes into cybersecurity risk modeling. Second, using the attack graph formalism, the proposed framework enables concurrent modeling and analysis of a wide variety of cybersecurity threats comprising varying attack vectors, locations, vulnerabilities, and consequences. PCOS are the serious condition which affects female ovaries during their reproductive age of 15 to 45. This disease affects 5 to 10% of reproductive-age females. Although it is difficult to fully resolve this issue,the PCOS affected women can be mitigated through proper exercise, by taking proper nutritious diet and maintaining the healthy BMI. Until they take a pregnancy test, the majority of women are unaware of the disease. The clinical dataset has the 541 instances and 45 attributes of unbalanced classes of 0 and 1 (no and yes) which has 364 instances of 0 (no) class and 177 instances of 1 (yes) class. Preprocessing is done for the unbalanced dataset by filling the null values and changing the datatype of all attributes to numeric datatypes. The unbalanced dataset is balanced by the balancing techniques of SMOTE and Random Over Sampling. Comparing the both balanced techniques through the accuracy the random oversampling gives the *** supervised learning algorithms are Decision tree, KNN,Random Forest,AdaBoost, Logistic regression,Gradient boosting, cat boosting, XGBoosting, Linear SVM, Radial SVM, Linear discriminant analysis and Quadratic discriminant analysis are *** supervised learning algorithms are trained and tested by splitting the dataset to 70% for training and 30% for testing. The ensemble stacking techniques are used by implementing the all models at the cross validation of *** xgboost gives the accuracy of 96% for the balanced dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Fulfilling increasing performance demands of space and automotive applications can be problematic as high dependability is required. Memory is one of the most radiationsensitive parts, so it is often protected with information redundancy. This paper describes an integration of error correction and detection techniques into the interface of RISC-V processor to protect the data stored in the memory. We also provide a hardware-software interface for reporting errors and software routines for correcting data in memory. Our solution has a negligible impact (-3.9%) on the overall performance of the core with a small area and power consumption overhead.

A Spatiotemporal Radar-Based Precipitation Model for Water Level Prediction and Flood Forecasting

Study Region: Goslar and Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany. Study Focus: In July 2017, the cities of Goslar and Göttingen experienced severe flood events characterized by short warning time of only 20 minutes, resulting in extensive regional flooding and significant damage. This highlights the critical need for a more reliable and timely flood forecasting system. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the impact of radar-based precipitation data on forecasting river water levels in Goslar. Additionally, the study examines how precipitation influences water level forecasts in Göttingen. The analysis integrates radar-derived spatiotemporal precipitation patterns with hydrological sensor data obtained from ground stations to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach in improving flood prediction capabilities. New Hydrological Insights for the Region: A key innovation in this paper is the use of residual-based modeling to address the non-linearity between precipitation images and water levels, leading to a Spatiotemporal Radar-based Precipitation Model with residuals (STRPMr). Unlike traditional hydrological models, our approach does not rely on upstream data, making it independent of additional hydrological inputs. This independence enhances its adaptability and allows for broader applicability in other regions with RADOLAN precipitation. The deep learning architecture integrates (2+1)D convolutional neural networks for spatial and temporal feature extraction with LSTM for timeseries forecasting. The results demonstrate the potential of the STRPMr for capturing extreme events and more accurate flood forecasting. © 2025, CC BY-SA.

Write Your Own Code Checker: An Automated Test-Driven Checker Development Approach with LLMs

With the rising demand for code quality assurance, developers are not only utilizing existing static code checkers but also seeking custom checkers to satisfy their specific needs. Nowadays, various code-checking frameworks provide extensive checker customization interfaces to meet this need. However, both the abstract checking logic and the complex API usage of large-scale checker frameworks make this task challenging. To this end, automated code checker generation is anticipated to ease the burden of checker development. In this paper, we propose AutoChecker, an innovative LLM-powered approach that can write code checkers automatically based on only a rule description and a test suite. To achieve comprehensive checking logic, AutoChecker incrementally updates the checker’s logic by focusing on solving one selected case each time. To obtain precise API knowledge, during each iteration, it leverages fine-grained logic-guided API-context retrieval, where it first decomposes the checking logic into a series of sub-operations and then retrieves checker-related API-contexts for each sub-operation. For evaluation, we apply AutoChecker, five baselines, and three ablation methods using multiple LLMs to generate checkers for 20 randomly selected PMD rules. Experimental results show that AutoChecker significantly outperforms others across all effectiveness metrics, with an average test pass rate of 82.28%. Additionally, the checkers generated by AutoChecker can be successfully applied to real-world projects, matching the performance of official checkers. © 2024, CC BY.

Hard hearing and deaf people are communicating with other people using the sign language. This is the only way of communication of such people to convey Since this is the only means by which these individuals can communicate, it is imperative that others be able to understand their language. Sign language recognition by computer begins with the acquisition of sign gestures and ends with recognition and conversion to text or voice. Static and dynamic are the two ways of sign gestures used. This study aims at focusing on the dynamic gesture recognition and the steps for recognizing sign language are discussed. The collected data are preprocessed and feature are extracted for classification. Finally the results are all investigated and developed for single user. © 2023 IEEE.

Thyroid disorders represent a significant global health challenge with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism as two common conditions arising from dysfunction in the thyroid *** and timely diagnosis of these disorders is crucial for effective treatment and patient *** research introduces a comprehensive approach to improve the accuracy of thyroid disorder diagnosis through the integration of ensemble stacking and advanced feature selection *** forward feature selection,sequential backward feature elimination,and bidirectional feature elimination are investigated in this *** ensemble learning,random forest,adaptive boosting,and bagging classifiers are *** effectiveness of these techniques is evaluated using two different datasets obtained from the University of California Irvine-Machine Learning Repository,both of which undergo preprocessing steps,including outlier removal,addressing missing data,data cleansing,and feature *** experimentation demonstrates the remarkable success of proposed ensemble stacking and bidirectional feature elimination achieving 100%and 99.86%accuracy in identifying hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism,*** enhancing detection accuracy,the ensemble stacking model also demonstrated a streamlined computational complexity which is pivotal for practical medical *** significantly outperformed existing studies with similar objectives underscoring the viability and effectiveness of the proposed *** research offers an innovative perspective and sets the platform for improved thyroid disorder diagnosis with broader implications for healthcare and patient well-being.

The resolution of ocean reanalysis datasets is generally low because of the limited resolution of their associated numerical ***-resolution ocean reanalysis datasets are therefore usually interpolated to provide an initial or boundary field for higher-resolution regional ocean ***,traditional interpolation methods(nearest neighbor interpolation,bilinear interpolation,and bicubic interpolation)lack physical constraints and can generate significant errors at land-sea boundaries and around *** this paper,a machine learning method is used to design an interpolation algorithm based on Gaussian process *** method uses a multiscale kernel function to process two-dimensional space meteorological ocean processes and introduces multiscale physical feature information(sea surface wind stress,sea surface heat flux,and ocean current velocity).This greatly improves the spatial resolution of ocean features and the interpolation *** eff ectiveness of the algorithm was validated through interpolation experiments relating to sea surface temperature(SST).The root mean square error(RMSE)of the interpolation algorithm was 38.9%,43.7%,and 62.4%lower than that of bilinear interpolation,bicubic interpolation,and nearest neighbor interpolation,*** interpolation accuracy was also significantly better in off shore area and around *** algorithm has an acceptable runtime cost and good temporal and spatial generalizability.

A network intrusion detection system (NIDS) is a crucial component of a robust cybersecurity strategy. Its primary purpose is to continuously monitor network traffic and detect suspicious or malicious activity that could be indicative of a cyberattack or unauthorized network access. The effectiveness of NIDS depends heavily on the techniques we use to boost the classification accuracy of intrusion and minimize the computational difficulty while performing training and testing. The high volume of network traffic combined with its large number of features will increase the classification time. With the recent emergence of deep learning techniques, scientists have shown interest in learning dataset features, followed by the classification of intrusions. This study offers a novel method for extracting high-dimensional features from input data by employing a stacked sparse autoencoder. Simple machine learning models are then built using the remaining low-dimensionality features. Simulations were conducted, and the efficacy of binary and multiclass classifications was verified. The proposed method exceeds most of the other existing approaches in terms of performance. © 2023 IEEE.
