Highly oriented MXene/polyvinyl alcohol films prepared by scalable layer-by-layer blade coating for efficient electromagnetic interference shielding and infrared stealth

Controlling the orientation of two-dimensional MXene within layered films is essential to optimize or tune their mechanical properties and electromagnetic interference shielding(EMI)performance,but achieving the high orientation MXene layers on an industrial scale remains a challenging *** this paper,a scalable layer-by-layer blade coating(LbLBC)method was employed to fabricate highly oriented MXene/polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)*** the LbLBC process,MXene/PVA colloid suffered a strong shearing effect,which induced the ordered alignment of MXene nanosheets along the direction of the blade *** orientation of MXene can be effectively adjusted by changing the scraping gap of LbLBC,achieving a maximum Herman orientation factor f of *** a result,the mechanical properties and EMI performance of the as-prepared MXene/PVA films are in direct proportion to their orientation,with the optimal values of tensile strength of 145.5 MPa,fracture strain of 19.6%,toughness of 17.7 MJ·m^(−3),and EMI shielding effectiveness of 36.7 ***,the inherently low mid-infrared(mid-IR)emissivity of MXene,combined with the densely oriented structure affords the composite films with IR stealth,resulting in a substantial decrease from 150 to 66.1℃in the radiative temperature of a ***,these scalable MXene/PVA films exhibit remarkable potential for integration into the next generation of multifunctional protective camouflage materials.

Conductive polymer composites(CPCs)have attracted significant interest in the field of flexible electro-magnetic protection,but the challenge of balancing high electromagnetic interference shielding effec-tiveness(EMI SE)and low reflection losses still ***,thermoplastic polyurethane/silver nanorod(TPU/AgNR)composite foams have been successfully prepared using both the salt template and vacuum-assisted thermal compression *** varying the AgNRs content and employing a layer-by-layer bonding approach,a gradient structure with optimized impedance matching is ***“absorb-reflect-reabsorb”EM attenuation mechanismofthe asymmetricgradientEMI shieldingin theinternal structure is exploited,resulting in TPU/AgNR foam(TAF)with high EMI SE and significantly reduced EM ***,the three-layer foams exhibit an average shielding efficacy of 35.5 dB and a reflected power coefficient(R)of 0.085 in the X-band,thereby substantially mitigating secondary EM wave ***,these foams demonstrate exemplary compressive resilience,with the sample main-taining excellent EMI shielding stability even after undergoing 100 compression cycles at 50%***,a straightforward approach is employed to fabricate materials with high EMI SE and low reflectivity,offering the potential for use in EM shielding applications of next-generation flexible elec-tronic devices.

Safe binary execution is often a crucial requirement in today's security critical computing infrastructures. WebAssembly is an emerging language designed for safe binary execution that has been deployed in many security critical domains, such as blockchain, edge computing, and clouds. However, WebAssembly's security guarantee is not a cure-all, and recent studies have revealed a large spectrum of security issues such as integer overflows and memory vulnerabilities, leading to serious security hazards to WebAssembly applications. In this paper, we propose the first automated bug detection framework for WebAssembly programs based on dynamic program analysis, directly on WebAssembly binaries. To realize the whole process, we present WASMDYPA, the dynamic bug detection system, consisting of three primary components: 1) an input generator for WebAssembly binaries;2) a static instrumentation hook providing extensible interfaces to collect runtime information;and 3) dynamic program analysis algorithms as security plugins to detect vulnerabilities. We have implemented a software prototype for WASMDYPA, and have conducted experiments to evaluate the effectiveness, usefulness, performance and overhead of our approach. Experimental results demonstrated that WASMDyPA can accurately detect vulnerabilities with a 88.24% precision and a 93.75% recall. Furthermore, WAS-MDyPA detected 56 bugs in real-world WebAssembly programs, including 2 integer overflows and 54 memory bugs. © 2024 IEEE.

The growing field of urban monitoring has increasingly recognized the potential of utilizing autonomous technologies,particularly in drone *** deployment of intelligent drone swarms offers promising solutions for enhancing the efficiency and scope of urban condition *** this context,this paper introduces an innovative algorithm designed to navigate a swarm of drones through urban landscapes for monitoring *** primary challenge addressed by the algorithm is coordinating drone movements from one location to another while circumventing obstacles,such as *** algorithm incorporates three key components to optimize the obstacle detection,navigation,and energy efficiency within a drone ***,the algorithm utilizes a method to calculate the position of a virtual leader,acting as a navigational beacon to influence the overall direction of the ***,the algorithm identifies observers within the swarm based on the current *** further refine obstacle avoidance,the third component involves the calculation of angular velocity using fuzzy *** approach considers the proximity of detected obstacles through operational rangefinders and the target’s location,allowing for a nuanced and adaptable computation of angular *** integration of fuzzy logic enables the drone swarm to adapt to diverse urban conditions dynamically,ensuring practical obstacle *** proposed algorithm demonstrates enhanced performance in the obstacle detection and navigation accuracy through comprehensive *** results suggest that the intelligent obstacle avoidance algorithm holds promise for the safe and efficient deployment of autonomous mobile drones in urban monitoring applications.

Dialog generation for Arabic chatbot

Dialogue generation systems (DGS) is an important topic in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP). It enables a wide range of real-world applications to interact with humans in various languages naturally and intelligently. Due to the complexity of the Arabic language, the development of an Arabic DGS is a challenge. In this paper, an Arabic DGS is developed using a sequence-to-sequence (Seq2Seq) framework comprised of Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM). A dataset of 12k conversations is translated from English to Arabic for the development process. The proposed DGS is analyzed, and its effectiveness is assessed using the Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) score. The TensorFlow deep learning framework is used to test the proposed DGS. Also, the proposed DGS is tested and compared with a recently developed DGS. The Experiments revealed that the proposed Arabic DGS is effective in eliciting positive responses, with a BLEU score of 0.5988. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management 2023. Blockchain-Enabled Secure, Fair and Scalable Data Sharing in Zero-Trust Edge-End Environment

In edge computing, the Zero-Trust Security Model (ZTSM), as a key enabling technology for next-generation networks, plays a crucial role in providing authentication for addressing data sharing concerns, such as frequent data breaches, data misuse, and cyberattacks. However, due to the complexity and diversity of edge environments, ZTSM struggles to meet the security requirements of data sharing frameworks solely through enhanced authentication. Consequently, such frameworks with ZTSM still face challenges in ensuring data integrity, evaluating various node behaviors, and coping with the increasing complexity of node attributes. To address these issues, we propose a blockchain-enabled secure, fair and scalable data sharing framework in a zero-trust edge-end environment in this paper. Specifically, we first propose a Merkle forest-based data storage model for the classified storage of loosely coupled data, consequently enhancing the scalability of the model. Then, we design a node behavior-based reputation assessment mechanism to ensure fairness during data sharing. Moreover, a data sharing protocol supervised by smart contract is proposed, working with the aforementioned storage and assessment schemes, to ensure the security of data sharing. Finally, comprehensive security analysis validates the security, fairness and scalability of the proposed framework. Extensive experimental results show that, as transaction volume grows, the time cost of data traversal in the storage model becomes progressively more efficient. Additionally, when the size of the smart contract is increased tenfold, the maximum time cost of the data sharing protocol rises by only 4.98 times. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Bidirectional attentional mechanism for Arabic chatbot

A chatbot is an intelligent agent that developed based on Natural language processing (NLP) to interact with people in a natural language. The development of multiple deep NLP models has allowed for the creation of a vector representation of words and sentences that captures meaning in context. In this paper, a generative Arabic chatbot is trained with the Sequence to Sequence (Seq2Seq) model based on encoder-decoder architecture. It utilizes both the bi-directional encoder types of Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). The chatbot was trained using preprocessed dataset of 12 k conversations that were translated from English to Arabic. An attention layer was provided to the RNNs to focus on the important data between the input and output sequences. The obtained results showed that the proposed chatbot performed well with long sentences and elicited positive responses. In addition to that BiLSTM with attention performs better than BiGRU without attention. Fulfilling increasing performance demands of space and automotive applications can be problematic as high dependability is required. Memory is one of the most radiationsensitive parts, so it is often protected with information redundancy. This paper describes an integration of error correction and detection techniques into the interface of RISC-V processor to protect the data stored in the memory. We also provide a hardware-software interface for reporting errors and software routines for correcting data in memory. Our solution has a negligible impact (-3.9%) on the overall performance of the core with a small area and power consumption overhead. © 2024 IEEE.

Fidelity plays an important role in quantum information processing,which provides a basic scale for comparing two quantum *** present,one of the most commonly used fidelities is Uhlmann-Jozsa(U-J)***,U-J fidelity needs to calculate the square root of the matrix,which is not trivial in the case of large or infinite density ***,U-J fidelity is a measure of overlap,which has limitations in some cases and cannot reflect the similarity between quantum states ***,a novel quantum fidelity measure called quantum Tanimoto coefficient(QTC)fidelity is proposed in this *** other existing fidelities,QTC fidelity not only considers the overlap between quantum states,but also takes into account the separation between quantum states for the first time,which leads to a better performance of ***,we discuss the properties of the proposed QTC *** fidelity is compared with some existing fidelities through specific examples,which reflects the effectiveness and advantages of QTC *** addition,based on the QTC fidelity,three discrimination coefficients d_(1)^(QTC),d_(2)^(QTC),and d_^(3)^(QTC)are defined to measure the difference between quantum *** is proved that the discrimination coefficient d_(3)^(QTC)is a true ***,we apply the proposed QTC fidelity-based discrimination coefficients to measure the entanglement of quantum states to show their practicability.
