Image deblurring techniques that uses deep learning have shown great potential but due to low generalizability, noise immunity and the correlation among different pixels is not addressed in detail that results in unwanted artifact that appears in the deblurred image. To tackle this problem an end-to-end approach is proposed for the recovery of sharp image from blurred one without the estimation of blur kernel. A special type of attention module known as crosshatch attention is used after Residual Block of Generator model for removing noise and for the collection of correlation of different pixels in an image. Hybrid Loss function is defined which focus on different part of image and improve edges and texture details. The performance of the model for deblurring is measured on GoPro dataset. Our proposed model has slightly higher objective and subjective evaluation i-e PSNR, SSIM value and the visual results.

Traditional data monetization approaches face challenges related to data protection and logistics. In response, digital data marketplaces have emerged as intermediaries simplifying data transactions. Despite the growing establishment and acceptance of digital data marketplaces, significant challenges hinder efficient data trading. As a result, few companies can derive tangible value from their data, leading to missed opportunities in understanding customers, pricing decisions, and fraud prevention. In this paper, we explore both technical and organizational challenges affecting data monetization. Moreover, we identify areas in need of further research, aiming to expand the boundaries of current knowledge by emphasizing where research is currently limited or lacking. © 2024, CC BY.

Agriculture, energy, mining, healthcare, and transportation are a few of the top industries transformed by the industrial internet of things (IIoT). Industry 4.0 mainly relies on machine learning (ML) to use the vast interconnectedness and large amounts of IIoT data that IIoT primarily drives. ML approaches are trained on confidential data generated by the IIoT environment often exposes privacy to adversarial assaults. Blockchain-based ML is established in the proposed secured IIoT research work to safeguard and enhance privacy. This research proposes a Gaussian differential privacy-integrated machine learning model (GDPIMLM), created for a scalable and controlled IIoT system, fully connected (FC) layer, implemented blockchain benefits to create a privacy-preserving mechanism while considering other limitations and reasonable time. A probability test using two altered Gaussian distributions (GD) forms the basis for defining Gaussian differential privacy (GDP). Due to a central restriction theorem for differential privacy, GDP is the primary privacy term within the family of Federal differential privacy (f-DP) policies. Ethereum is used to implement experimental evaluations. Data collections show that the recommended method enhances digital data privacy with industry-leading security without reducing performance. The performance analysis of the proposed model of secured industrial internet of things (IIoT) is studied using the accuracy of comparison with existing methods and for diverse distributed entities (DE). The proposed secured IIoT attains a minimal time consumption (TC) of 790 Sec—the highest accuracy of 92%, outperforming the existing method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Medical imagery has been increasingly used in diagnosing and treating various diseases, leading to advances in healthcare. While humans usually lead the qualitative interpretation of visual features, Automated Classification of Medical Images Using Convolution Neural Networks (CNNs) has gained traction for accurate image classification. CNNs are a type of deep learning algorithm that attempts to mimic the structure of the human brain and are ideal for image classification due to their convolution layers that can detect patterns within the image. These convolution layers enable the networks to learn the characteristics of the data through a series of convolution and pooling operations. Additionally, they can rapidly identify relationships and patterns within the dataset and extract features from the input image, thus allowing a more accurate classification. With the increasing availability of medical imaging data, advancements in the field of ML/AI has enabled the use of CNNs for automated medical image classification, helping clinicians to diagnose diseases accurately with less time and effort. ©2024 IEEE.

In complex imaging environments, captured images often contain outliers like impulse noise, Cauchy noise, and saturated pixels, posing significant challenges for image deblurring. While existing blind deblurring methods can address outliers to a certain extent, the incorporation of intricate operations tends to amplify the complexity of the deblurring process. In light of these challenges, we present a simple yet robust blind deblurring algorithm for handling images with outliers. To alleviate the effect of outliers on kernel estimation, we introduce a truncated Cauchy loss function, which effectively suppresses outliers by truncating significant errors. Furthermore, we employ a statistics-based approach for outlier detection, eliminating the need for heuristic methods. The proposed approach is shown to be easily implementable and extendable for non-blind deblurring. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art methods for both blurred images with outliers and those without.

The study has outlined the finite element technique used for the fiber modal analysis of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) structure with a hexagonal/circular air holes arrangement on the cladding of pure fiber-optic silica. The used fibers that are namely highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF), single model silica fiber (SMSF) are combined with PCFs with different dopants concentration. Leakage loss, number of guided resonant modes, fiber birefringence, effective refractive index and cross-section areas and nonlinear coefficient parameters are measured inaccurate estimation. Crime forecasting is a critical endeavor aimed at preventing future criminal actions, specifically the rising rate of violence against women in India. This study proposes the model to predict crimes committed against women using data from the National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) monthly crime report. The dataset encompasses district and state-wise crime activities from 2001 to 2014. The proposed work objectives are identifying factors influencing these crimes and developing predictive models using machine learning (ML). The study employs Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), to enhance the predictive power of the models. The suggested study uses XGBoost, Random Forest (RF), and Neural Network (NN). The neural network algorithm outperforms the Random Forest and XGBoost techniques among these three. The Random Forest algorithm has the worst performance. After comparing the accuracies of various methods, such as XGBoost (92%), and Random Forest (89.84%) classifiers using imbalanced datasets (without employing Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) technique), it was found that the neural network algorithm (95.81%) delivers the highest accuracy. This study looks at model accuracies and finds that, after applying the SMOTE algorithm, neural network algorithms performed best, with an accuracy of 96.76%, outperforming the accuracies of the remaining models, which included the Random Forest (93.08%) and XG-Boost (95%).

Previous work has proposed precision scalable accelerators to handle mixed-precision neural network (NN) inferences on the edge, which focus on designing reconfigurable MAC arrays while leaving the issue of time-costly data buffering procedure less discussed. Besides, integer-only inference is incapable of handling emerging NN models with various non-linear activation functions. In this work, we propose a mixed-precision NN accelerator supporting int8, int16 and fp32 arithmetic with two buffering techniques namely MulTAP and FQPipe, which jointly facilitate low-latency data movement. Experiment results show that MulTAP and FQPipe boost the baseline NN accelerator with 7.7 × and 1.5 × in speed respectively, which leads to the application performance of 473.9 (int8) and 252.5 (int16) inferences per second (IPS) on YOLOv3-Tiny. Post-layout netlist with SMIC 40nm standard-cell technology demonstrates a design with an area of 26.96mm 2 and a power estimate of 1.83W.

For monitoring the paste concentration, existing techniques, such as ultrasonic concentration meters and neutron meters, suffer from radiation hazards and low precision in high concentrations. This paper proposes a novel non-contact concentration measurement method based on deep learning. With the dataset collected by preparing the paste with different concentrations and taking photographs from the paste surface, a convolutional neural network is trained to extract the features from images and predict the concentration. The experiments indicate that the measurement accuracy is close to 88.79 % for the manual stirring paste dataset and 91.42 % for the automatic stirring paste dataset, which are sufficient in industrial applications. As a substitution of traditional concentration measurement instruments, the proposed vision-based concentration measurement method is non-contact and its accuracy is sufficient in industrial applications.

Multivariate time series anomaly detection, crucial for ensuring the safety of real-world systems, primarily focuses on extracting characteristics from time series under normal condition, and identifying potential anomalies throughout the evaluation process. Recent studies have achieved fruitful progress through mining the spatio-temporal relationships from multivariate time series, however, these approaches mostly neglect the latency among series which could lead to higher false alarm. Granger causality presents a promising solution to extract these inherent time-lagged relationships. Nonetheless, the intricate and dynamic relationships among numerous time series in real-world systems surpass the ability of linear Granger causality. To address this, we extend the linear Granger causality and propose the Granger Causal Former (GCFormer), a novel approach that leverages attention mechanisms to learn the inherent causal spatio-temporal relationships between historical and current timestamps across multiple time series. Specifically, GCFormer develops a Spatio-Mask (SM) to select the top-k most relevant series and a Temporal-Mask (TM) to concentrate attention on more recent historical timestamps. Moreover, to mitigate overfitting and ensure a smooth training process, GCFormer introduces an adjust top-k method and a TM penalty term. We evaluated GCFormer on four real-world benchmark datasets, demonstrating its superior performance over state-of-the-art approaches. Further analysis and a case study highlight the model’s novelty and interpretability.
