This paper investigates the problem of moving target tracking in the case of a monocular mobile camera. Firstly, a scene space model was established under a moving camera based on the constraint conditions of ground plane. Thus, a three-dimensional (3D) motion model of target could be established. The scene space model and the target 3D motion model could both be compensated by the posture of the camera, which can be calculated according to the vanishing point in the image or the motion parameters of the camera acquired by sensors. Secondly, an interception function was established to extract the target motion range according to the target 3D motion model. Both the influence of background factors and the computational complexity of the algorithm were reduced. Then, a dual-kernels tracking method was used to track the target under a situation of non-obvious color characteristics and partial shielding. Finally, a public data set was used to conduct comparison experiments with three other algorithms to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm. © 2020 Totem Publisher, Inc.

Diabetes Mellitus, one of the leading causes of death worldwide, has no cure to date and can lead to severe health complications, such as retinopathy, limb amputation, cardiovascular diseases, and neuronal disease, if left untreated. Consequently, it becomes crucial to take precautionary measures to avoid/predict the occurrence of diabetes. Machine learning approaches have been proposed and evaluated in the literature for diabetes prediction. This paper proposes an IoT-edge-Artificial Intelligence (AI)-blockchain system for diabetes prediction based on risk factors. The proposed system is underpinned by the blockchain to obtain a cohesive view of the risk factors data from patients across different hospitals and to ensure security and privacy of the user’s data. Furthermore, we provide a comparative analysis of different medical sensors, devices, and methods to measure and collect the risk factors values in the system. Numerical experiments and comparative analysis were carried out between our proposed system, using the most accurate random forest (RF) model, and the two most used state-of-the-art machine learning approaches, Logistic Regression (LR) and Support Vector Machine (SVM), using three real-life diabetes datasets. The results show that the proposed system using RF predicts diabetes with 4.57% more accuracy on average compared to LR and SVM, with 2.87 times more execution time. Data balancing without feature selection does not show significant improvement. The performance is improved by 1.14% and 0.02% after feature selection for PIMA Indian and Sylhet datasets respectively, while it reduces by 0.89% for MIMIC III. © 2022, CC BY.

AMPylation is an emerging post-translational modification that occurs on the hydroxyl group of threonine, serine, or tyrosine via a phosphodiester bond. AMPylators catalyze this process as covalent attachment of adenosine monophosphate to the amino acid side chain of a peptide. Recent studies have shown that this post-translational modification is directly responsible for regulation of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration and also involved in many physiological processes. Despite the importance of this post-translational modification, there is no peptide sequence dataset available for conducting computational analysis. Therefore, so far, no computational approach has been proposed for predicting AMPylation. In this study, we introduce a new dataset of this distinct post-translational modification and develop a new machine learning tool using a deep convolutional neural network called DeepAmp to predict AMPylation sites in proteins. DeepAmp achieves 77.7%, 79.1%, 76.8%, and 0.55 in terms of Accuracy, Sensitivity, Specificity, and Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC) for AMPylation site prediction task, respectively. As the first machine learning model, DeepAmp demonstrate promising results which highlight its potential to solve this problem. Turbulence and oscillating amplitude of boundary layers and nonlinear radiative heat and concentration motion of transient Williamson nanomaterial model alongside inclined solar surface with entropy optimization, magnetic oscillation, dynamic solar energy, and thermo diffusion is the novelty of this work. The objective of this problem is to scrutinize the speed streamlines, isothermal lines, energy/temperature and mass/concentration fields, steady heating ratio and instability of fluctuating energy/heat transfer alongside inclined plate at angle π/4. Governing mathematical formulation is developed to find the numerical outcomes of unknown physical properties. Fluctuating Stokes transformations and dimensionless variables are developed to reduce governing equations into oscillatory and steady equations with defined boundary values. Various pertinent parameters are generated for physical analysis of heat rate such as Eckert number ( E c ), buoyancy number ( λ T ), oscillating magnetic parameter ( M f ), Schmidt number ( S c ), radiation number ( R d ), thermophoresis number ( N T ), Prandtl number ( Pr ), and Brownian motion number ( N b ). Primitive variable transformation is applied to generate symmetry in all governing equations in FORTRAN programming tool for accurate asymptotic results. Implicit formula of finite difference scheme with central and backward relation is used to convert system of equations into algebraic equations. The obtained algebraic equations are solved through Gaussian elimination technique to explore fluid flow, heat and mass rate, and periodical fluctuations in thermal and concentration gradients. It is perceived that high largeness in fluid speed and energy/temperature field is depicted as thermal radiating constraint upsurges. The magnitude of streamlines ad isothermal lines is decreased as oscillating magnetic number and Eckert number increases but isothermal lines increased with maximum strong magnetic field. This paper introduces a virtual laboratory for experiments with cybersecurity functions in coalition networks. The motivation comes from the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) initiative on science and Technology Experimentation Environment (SnTEE), which supports the transfer of scientific and technical activities carried out by the NATO science and Technology Organization (STO) research task groups towards NATO operations. The goal of the experiments reported in this paper is to emulate a network topology inspired by Protected Core Networking (PCN), which defines two interfaces. One interface between two protected core segments, from different nations, and another interface between a protected core segment and a colored cloud within a particular nation. The experiments are intended to support the investigation performed by the STO IST-196 RTG on Cyber Security in Virtualized Networks. In particular, the starting hypothesis of IST-196 is that security function virtualization can support/speedup PCN topology changes when links are added/removed. We define our experimental setup as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and introduce experiments that emulate topology changes. We also sketch a solution for the deployment of two chains of virtualized cybersecurity functions at lower protocol layers (physical and IP) and at higher protocol layers (transport and application). This paper also lists future experiments for the NATO SnTEE lab, namely risk-aware routing, cross-layer enforcement of policies, information exchange functions, and federate monitoring and detection of cyber incidents/attacks.

software-Defined Networks make it more principled and formal to operate and verify networks, which decouple the control plane and the data plane and introduce flexibility and programmability into the network. The SDN control plane needs to frequently update the data plane. However, the decoupled control and data planes face new challenges. The network is still an asynchronous distributed system in rule updates. If the update operations are not carefully scheduled, it may result in blackhole, congestions, and violate the consistency properties. Motivated by the tightly synchronized SDNs, we proposed TIDERS Algorithm for consistent network updates in 'timed SDNs'-where one node update can be scheduled at specific time. In TIDERS, we use synchronized time technique to achieve fast network updates while guaranteeing consistency properties. We focus on congestion-free in scheduling the update operations. To achieve this, we first set up a flow-based dependency graph and transform it into switch-operation level dependency graph. Based on operation dependency graph, we generate an update schedule and gradually optimize it to finally get a fast update schedule. After that, we conduct a series of simulations comparing our approach with several other methods to evaluate it. © 2019 IEEE.

A biopsy is the only diagnostic procedure for accurate histological confirmation of breast cancer. When sonographic placement is not feasible, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)-guided biopsy is often preferred. The lack of real-time imaging information and the deformations of the breast make it challenging to bring the needle precisely towards the tumour detected in pre-interventional Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. The current manual MRI-guided biopsy workflow is inaccurate and would benefit from a technique that allows real-time tracking and localisation of the tumour lesion during needle insertion. This paper proposes a robotic setup and software architecture to assist the radiologist in targeting MR-detected suspicious tumours. The approach benefits from image fusion of preoperative images with intraoperative optical tracking of markers attached to the patient's skin. A hand-mounted biopsy device has been constructed with an actuated needle base to drive the tip toward the desired direction. The steering commands may be provided both by user input and by computer guidance. The workflow is validated through phantom experiments. On average, the suspicious breast lesion is targeted with a radius down to 2.3 mm. The results suggest that robotic systems taking into account breast deformations have the potentials to tackle this clinical challenge. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Bi-Level Optimization (BLO) is originated from the area of economic game theory and then introduced into the optimization community. BLO is able to handle problems with a hierarchical structure, involving two levels of optimization tasks, where one task is nested inside the other. In machine learning and computer vision fields, despite the different motivations and mechanisms, a lot of complex problems, such as hyper-parameter optimization, multi-task and meta learning, neural architecture search, adversarial learning and deep reinforcement learning, actually all contain a series of closely related subproblms. In this paper, we first uniformly express these complex learning and vision problems from the perspective of BLO. Then we construct a best-response-based single-level reformulation and establish a unified algorithmic framework to understand and formulate mainstream gradient-based BLO methodologies, covering aspects ranging from fundamental automatic differentiation schemes to various accelerations, simplifications, extensions and their convergence and complexity properties. Last but not least, we discuss the potentials of our unified BLO framework for designing new algorithms and point out some promising directions for future research. © 2021, CC BY.

Sparse Weighted Canonical Correlation Analysis

Given two data matrices X and Y, Sparse canonical correlation analysis（SCCA） is to seek two sparse canonical vectors u and v to maximize the correlation between Xu and Yv. Classical and sparse Canonical correlation analysis（CCA） models consider the contribution of all the samples of data matrices and thus cannot identify an underlying specific subset of samples. We propose a novel Sparse weighted canonical correlation analysis（SWCCA）,where weights are used for regularizing different *** solve the L0-regularized SWCCA（L0-SWCCA） using an alternating iterative algorithm. We apply L0-SWCCA to synthetic data and real-world data to demonstrate its effectiveness and superiority compared to related methods. We consider also SWCCA with different penalties like Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator（LASSO）and Group LASSO, and extend it for integrating more than three data matrices.
