In display advertising, click through rate (CTR) prediction is the problem of estimating the probability that an advertisement (ad) is clicked when displayed to a user in a specific context. Due to its easy implementation and promising performance, logistic regression (LR) model has been widely used for CTR prediction, especially in industrial systems. However, it is not easy for LR to capture the nonlinear information, such as the conjunction information, from user features and ad features. In this paper, we propose a novel model, called coupled group lasso (CGL), for CTR prediction in display advertising. CGL can seamlessly integrate the conjunction information from user features and ad features for modeling. Furthermore, CGL can automatically eliminate useless features for both users and ads, which may facilitate fast online prediction. Scalability of CGL is ensured through feature hashing and distributed implementation. Experimental results on real-world data sets show that our CGL model can achieve state-of-the-art performance on web- scale CTR prediction tasks. This paper is concerned with the problem of tracking target with multiple sensors in the presence of unknown dynamic bias. A suboptimal adaptive two-stage Kalman filter(ATKF) is designed with two reduce-order filters to estimate the target state and the dynamic bias in parallel when the bias model information is incomplete. Moreover, a distributed adaptive two-stage Kalman filter(DATKF) is developed for multi-sensor system based on the ATKF. The effectiveness of the ATKF and the DATKF are illustrated by the Monte Carlo simulation results.

To verify and evaluate the performance of a space robot controller,kinematics and dynamics of the system have to be formed beforehand for computer *** paper is devoted to develop a new kinematic notation for space robots and to come up with an open source of Matlab subroutines for the propose of obtaining the proper dynamics equations of space robots in symbolic forms *** the new kinematic notation,we will present the general form and two special *** is then demonstrated through an example the advantages such as flexible assignment of frames on space robots,being able to describe multi-DOF joint and achieve a consistent description for multi-arm space *** the second part,we adopt the Lagrangian Formulation for forming the procedures to automatically generate the dynamics equations of space robots in symbolic *** example is then provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of closed-loop simulation adopting the obtained symbolic equations.

State-of-the-art gateways are connected to several distributed computing infrastructures (DCIs) and are able to run jobs and workflows simultaneously in all those different DCIs. However, the flexibility of accessing data storages belonging to different DCIs is a missing feature of current gateways. SZTAKI (Institute for computer science and Control) has developed a Data Avenue Blacktop service and aLiferay-based Data Avenue port let that open the door for integrating such features into science gateways. The paper explains the design considerations of the Data Avenue Blacktop service and its usage scenarios in science gateways through the Data Avenue port let.

software process simulation (SPS) has been evolving over the past two decades after being introduced to the software engineering community in the 1980s. At that time the SPS technology attracted a great deal of interest from both academics and practitioners in the software process community—even to the extent of being one of the recommended techniques for achieving multiple Key Process Areas of Level 4 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration. However, in recent years, the growth of SPS seems to have slowed along with the number of reported applications in industry. This article summarizes the special panel that was held during ICSSP 2012 whose goals were to assess whether this technology remains applicable to today's software engineering projects and challenges and to point out the most beneficial opportunities for future research and industry application. A large portion of people suffer from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in the world. Unfortunately, some of them don't know they have been contracted CKD until they need dialysis treatment at the end stage. Diagnosis through non-invasive ultrasonic imaging techniques become important clinical approaches for detecting CKD, and high potential or at-risk CKD patients could avoid being infected via blood test and/or reduce chances of abrupt deterioration in renal function by taking iodinated contrast medium. This research established a detection system based on computer vision and machine learning techniques for facilitating diagnosis of CKD and different stages of CKD. Novel features and support vector machine were applied for rapid detection. In this study, several evaluations on different clustered groups were performed and compared according to estimated glomerular filtration rates (GFR). In addition, the proposed system required 0.016 seconds in average for feature extraction and classification for each testing case. The results showed that the system could produce consistent diagnosis based on noninvasive ultrasonographic approaches and which could be considered as the most proper clinical diagnosis and medical treatment for CKD patients.

This paper addresses the H_∞ performance and H_∞ control of switched stochastic linear systems subject to average dwell-time switching. At first, a sufficient condition is presented to guarantee the switched stochastic system to achieve a weighted H_∞ performance under the condition that all subsystems are asymptotic mean square stable. Further, the disturbance attenuation property of the considered systems is investigated when both stable and unstable subsystems are included. It is shown that if the active time of unstable subsystems is properly allocated, a stochastic bounded real lemma (SBRL) can be established based on the solvability of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). As an application of the obtained SBRL, the robust control problem is settled for a class of switched stochastic systems with (x,u,v)-dependent noises, and the state-feedback H_∞ controller is developed.

This paper investigates the problem of tracking a moving target using multiple fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under a new bicircular formation. This new formation for cooperative standoff target tracking is first developed by maximizing the amount of Fisher information. Guidance vector fields are designed, and based on them, a cooperation approach is proposed to adapt the unknown target velocity and achieve the cooperative bicircular tracking. Speed and heading rate are firstly controlled to track the guidance vector fields separately for each UAV, then the speed is further adjusted to maintain the desired angular separation between the UAVs. Simulation experiments are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
