The concept of Digital Twin has been widely used by researchers to represent physical entities in computer-generated reality in the metaverse. In this research, a novel concept of 'Mobile Twin' is coined. Mobile Twin serves as a replica of a mobile device in the virtual environment enabling communication. The purpose of introducing Mobile Twin in the metaverse is to bring mobility and benefits similar to tangible mobile devices while eliminating the need for individual energy sources, storage limitations, resource usage, and efficiency. The true benefits of a mobile twin can be achieved with an architecture where computing nodes are decentralized, data processing is near the network's edge with faster response times and reduced latency. For this purpose, the mobile twin-based applications of metaverse are built over edge computing-based network architecture. This idea introduced the aspect of 'Revolutionary Ultra-low latency (RULL)' in the metaverse. © 2024 IEEE.

The article takes a look at an algorithm of decision making in educational management data system based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process. This technique allows to choose the best of the proposed alternatives, the characteristics of which are vectors with heterogeneous individual components including those that are not clearly defined. The architecture of a decision-making support system that implements the proposed algorithm is suggested.

Teaching software Engineering (SE) based on “real-world” projects engages students with practical application of software engineering concepts-students develop a deeper interest in the project deliverables while they acquire the skills of critically analyzing the problem and determining the best course of action. It can be challenging to find and maintain a reliable stream of suitable software projects that match learning outcomes, technical scope, and academic calendar of an SE class. On the other hand, a typical university campus has many nonComputer Science (CS) technology classes that require their students to study, understand, and evaluate existing software applications in specific areas. With purposeful coordination, these non-CS technology classes can serve as effective source of real projects for SE classes. This paper describes our experience of collaborating with the Education program in their Technology in Education course. While we encountered some challenges, our experience has demonstrated that it is indeed mutually beneficial and rewarding for students in both courses. We offer recommendations on choosing non-CS technology classes and logistical guidelines to ensure the success of such collaborations.

Without understanding the programming difficulties faced by developers with visual impairments, the research community cannot begin to work on effective solutions to overcome these potential problems. This paper will describe our initial empirically based study to identify the problems blind software developers face. We analyzed 69 survey responses with blind developers in an effort to identify the aspects that are indeed a challenge to software development. The results indicate a number of difficulties, workarounds, and basis requirements that will serve as domain and stakeholder understand.

In wireless sensor networks, energy depletion of bottleneck nodes which have more data packets to relay than others, dominates the network lifetime referred to as the funnel effect problem. To overcome this problem, multiple sink methods have been proposed where sensor nodes send observed data packets toward several sinks to distribute traffic load of bottleneck nodes. If both of the topology and the traffic pattern are symmetric, bottleneck nodes are located near sinks. However, in a general sensor network with an asymmetric topology and/or an asymmetric traffic pattern, bottleneck nodes may exist any place in the network. In this paper, we propose DCAM (DispersiveCast of packets to Avoid bottleneck nodes for Multiple sink sensor network), which is a load balancing method to improve lifetime of a sensor network with an asymmetric topology and an asymmetric traffic pattern. DCAM first finds bottleneck nodes, and then balances the load on the bottleneck nodes. Selected nodes send data packets to several sinks dispersively according to some criteria. The criteria classify DCAM into three variations: DCAM with probability (DCAM-P), DCAM with moving boarder (DCAM-MB), and DCAM with round-robin (DCAM-RR). This paper gives details of the DCAM methods, and thereafter evaluates them with asymmetric topologies and asymmetric traffic patterns. To deal with these dynamic asymmetry, the topology is modeled by a grid network with virtual holes that are defined as vacant places of nodes in the network. Asymmetry of traffic pattern is modeled by defining a hot area where nodes have heavier data traffic than the others. The evaluations are conducted as changing hot-area traffic patterns as well as fixing hot-area patterns. The results show that DCAM improves network lifetime up to 1.87 times longer than the conventional schemes, (i.e., nearest sink transmissions and optimal dispersive cast of packet). In the field of assisted cancer diagnosis, it is expected that the involvement of machine learning in diseases will give doctors a second opinion and help them to make a faster / better determination. There are a huge number of studies in this area using traditional machine learning methods and in other cases, using deep learning for this purpose. This article aims to evaluate the predictive models of machine learning classification regarding the accuracy, objectivity, and reproducible of the diagnosis of malignant neoplasm with fine needle aspiration. Also, we seek to add one more class for testing in this database as recommended in previous studies. We present six different classification methods: Multilayer Perceptron, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine and Deep Neural Network for evaluation. For this work, we used at University of Wisconsin Hospital database which is composed of thirty values which characterize the properties of the nucleus of the breast mass. As we showed in result sections, DNN classifier has a great performance in accuracy level (92%), indicating better results in relation to traditional models. Random forest 50 and 100 presented the best results for the ROC curve metric, considered an excellent prediction when compared to other previous studies published.

A NEW HOPE: Contextual Privacy Policies for Mobile Applications and An Approach Toward Automated Generation

Privacy policies have emerged as the predominant approach to conveying privacy notices to mobile application users. In an effort to enhance both readability and user engagement, the concept of contextual privacy policies (CPPs) has been proposed by researchers. The aim of CPPs is to fragment privacy policies into concise snippets, displaying them only within the corresponding contexts within the application’s graphical user interfaces (GUIs). In this paper, we first formulate CPP in mobile application scenario, and then present a novel multimodal framework, named SEEPRIVACY, specifically designed to automatically generate CPPs for mobile applications. This method uniquely integrates vision-based GUI understanding with privacy policy analysis, achieving 0.88 precision and 0.90 recall to detect contexts, as well as 0.98 precision and 0.96 recall in extracting corresponding policy segments. A human evaluation shows that 77% of the extracted privacy policy segments were perceived as well-aligned with the detected contexts. These findings suggest that SEEPRIVACY could serve as a significant tool for bolstering user interaction with, and understanding of, privacy policies. Furthermore, our solution has the potential to make privacy notices more accessible and inclusive, thus appealing to a broader demographic. The ATT&CK MITRE framework serves as an expansive repository of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures. Given the sheer volume of these intricate attack patterns, the conventional manual navigation method proves to be time-intensive and less efficient for security analysts. As a remedy, there arises a compelling necessity to present the rich content encapsulated within the ATT&CK MITRE repository through interactive visualizations. In this paper ATT&CKViz an interactive web-based cyber-attack patterns visualization tool is presented that aims to empower security analysts with the ability to effortlessly explore the repository from diverse angles, which facilitates deep insights into cyber threats. The aim is to understand cyber threat efficiently with a timely response. The empirical evaluations depict that effectiveness and user-friendliness of ATT&CKViz.

The use of private or consortium blockchains in organizations’ applications is growing. A relevant aspect of blockchains is the choice of consensus mechanism. This decision delimits which blockchain solutions are suitable for the private scenario. Once the consensus mechanism is chosen, more than one blockchain may be enabled. However, this decision making is not trivial and requires detailed experimental indicators about algorithms and blockchains performance. In this context, we provide a comprehensive performance analysis of the Raft consensus mechanism based on its implementation in Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum blockchain solutions. We performed our experiments on an OpenStack private cloud using each blockchain developer’s default settings for virtual machines. Our findings show how the implementation of each solution can impact the application’s performance under certain conditions.

software project outcomes heavily depend on natural language requirements,often causing diverse interpretations and issues like ambiguities and incomplete or faulty *** are exploring machine learning to predict software bugs,but a more precise and general approach is *** bug prediction is crucial for software evolution and user training,prompting an investigation into deep and ensemble learning ***,these studies are not generalized and efficient when extended to other ***,this paper proposed a hybrid approach combining multiple techniques to explore their effectiveness on bug identification *** methods involved feature selection,which is used to reduce the dimensionality and redundancy of features and select only the relevant ones;transfer learning is used to train and test the model on different datasets to analyze how much of the learning is passed to other datasets,and ensemble method is utilized to explore the increase in performance upon combining multiple classifiers in a *** National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA)and four Promise datasets are used in the study,showing an increase in the model’s performance by providing better Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve(AUC-ROC)values when different classifiers were *** reveals that using an amalgam of techniques such as those used in this study,feature selection,transfer learning,and ensemble methods prove helpful in optimizing the software bug prediction models and providing high-performing,useful end mode.
