A mathematical model for efficient extraction of key locations from point-cloud data in track area

During the construction of a metro system, it is inevitable that deviations will occur between the excavated tunnel and the original designed scheme. As such, it is necessary to adjust the designed scheme to accommodate these discrepancies. Specifically, the adjustment of the designed scheme involves a rigorous process of repeatedly selecting and verifying the feasibility of the proposed modifications using point-cloud data obtained from the tunnel. However, this process can be considerably time-consuming due to the large-scale and potentially redundant nature of the point-cloud data. This paper proposes a mathematical model for point-cloud data acquired in measuring a mined tunnel, which may deviate from the originally designed one. The modeling, which mainly includes determining its normal plane, and building the equation of tunnel point-cloud data, is to quickly extract several key locations in the tunnel surface for modifying the original design in order to achieve a minimum error between the modified design and the mined tunnel. In comparison with the conventional processing of extracting several key locations directly from point-cloud data, our model shows a significant promotion of extraction efficiency under an acceptable error bound. The model is tested in a real tunnel point-cloud data and the testing results confirm the increase of fitting accuracy and the decrease of computational load.

Aiming at the problem of the architecture of the automation control system of traditional buildings, Tsinghua University proposed swarm intelligence building technology. However, most of the electrical equipment in completed buildings is not designed for swarm intelligence technology, and a large number of heterogeneous devices can't communicate with Swarm Intelligence Computing network platform, which leads to the difficulty of the system promotion. This paper develops a multi-purpose gateway for swarm intelligence. On the basis of solving the data interaction between terminal equipment of swarm intelligence control system and computing network, it reduces the requirement of network bandwidth through preprocessing of data, and completes the feasibility test of gateway in lighting unit. © 2021 IEEE.

Smoke is the key feature of fire detection in its early age. Thus, an efficient smoke detection approach (i. e. an accurate and rapid method) is essential important to prevent fires. However, it is difficult to obtain an efficient method due to non-obvious details and monotonous color of smoke images. Moreover, traditional methods of smoke detection based on CNN contains lots of parameters and operations, which severely influents the computing efficiency in practical applications. Thus, we propose an efficient dual-channel neural network (EDCNN) on the basis of the state-of-The-Art DCNN. Concretely, we use the linear inverted bottleneck (LIB) to replace the traditional convolution layers on DCNN to build a light weight deep neural network. The introduction of the LIB block can efficiently trade off between accuracy and latency. Moreover, ReLU6 is used as the activation function, because it is more suitable for low-precision hardware devices. We then use some experimental results to demonstrate the effectiveness of EDCNN compared with the competitors for smoke detection in terms of model and computational complexity. © 2022 IEEE.

Cooperative behavior has been of great concern in evolutionary game researches because of its important role in social life and natural evolution. Since memory can greatly influence the emergence of cooperative behavior, memory-based research on evolutionary games has proliferated in recent years. In the present paper, inspired by the well-known “Stanford marshmallow experiment” (SME), we proposed a multi-memory mechanism in Snowdrift game (SDG) on spatial lattice networks whose core lies in what follows: Players are divided into two groups according to individual self-control; different memory lengths are set by group and by time in a single realization. The simulation results show that our proposed mechanism promotes cooperation level of the considered evolutionary game. More specifically, as memory length increases to an intermediate length, the cooperation level increases as well. For mechanism with short memory length, the effect of population structure is obvious and small values of adjusting factor can intensively facilitate high-frequency cooperative behavior. These findings may be helpful to understand the connection between population heterogeneity and the emergence of high cooperation.

Since 3D mesh security has become intellectual property,3D watermarking algorithms have continued to appear to secure 3D meshes shared by remote users and saved in distant multimedia *** novelty of our approach is that it uses a new Clifford-multiwavelet transform to insert copyright data in a multiresolution domain,allowing us to greatly expand the size of the *** that,our method does two rounds of insertion,each applying a different type of Clifford-wavelet *** being placed into the Clifford-multiwavelet coefficients,the watermark,which is a mixture of the mesh description,source mesh signature(produced using SHA512),and a logo encrypted using the RSA(Ronald Shamir Adleman)technique,is encoded using *** the Least Significant Bit method steps,data embedding involves modulation and insertion ***,the watermarked mesh is reconstructed using the inverse Cliffordmultiwavelet *** to the utilization of a hybrid insertion domain,our technique has demonstrated a very high insertion rate while retaining mesh *** mesh is watermarked,and the extracted data is acquired in *** approach is also resistant to the most common types of *** findings reveal that the current approach improves on previous efforts.

As a fundamental means of intelligent service, recommender systems have shown a trend of diversification. Sequential recommendation, a class of time-aware methods, aims to predict the user's next click. Multi-interest representation is a hot topic in recommender systems, but the research on how to apply multi-interest into sequences is still in the minority. And many methods will introduce knowledge graph to improve the representation of items, but how to consider both knowledge graph and user's multi-interest in sequential recommendation has become a temporary blank. In this paper, we propose an attentive sequential recommendation with knowledge-aware multi-interest module (AKAMI). Items are embedded from the sequence's structure and user's interests. Specifically, we represent items by stacking self-attention layers to mine the internal correlation of the sequence. Meanwhile, we segment the sequence via the common neighbors in the knowledge graph and cast the user's multi-interest based on the aggregation of subsequences. Multi-interests are integrated into item representation by the gating network adaptively. Comprehensive experiments on two real-world datasets show that the proposed model performs better than various representative methods under different evaluation metrics. Additionally, we also visually explain the model through a case study. © 2022 IEEE.

The comfort fit of a limb prosthetic socket is one of the most important considerations for developing the socket for an amputee. The pressure at the touchpoint, which is the interface between the residual limb with natural skin and the prosthetic limb socket with a polymeric material, should be monitored precisely when fabricating the comfort fit. Even a small volume or shape discrepancy between the residual limb and prosthetic limb sock causes several problems in the residual limb, such as skin breakage, tissue irritation, and associated pain. Volume variations of the residual limb due to squeezing by a prosthetic limb sock result in pressure changes that can be detected using a pressure sensor. In this study, the interface pressures between the residual limb and prosthetic upper-limb socket were obtained using a 3D printed capacitive pressure sensor. An upper-limb prosthetic socket and capacitive pressure sensor were fabricated using a dual nozzle 3D Fused Deposition Modelling technique. Polylactic acid, polylactic acid-carbon black compound, and polyurethane were used as the personalized upperlimb socket and sensing electrode, and substrate material, respectively. The as-fabricated sensors were embedded into the sock wall, and their sensing properties were characterized. For a case study, the sensor-embedded sockets were worn on an amputee's residual upper-limb to characterize empirically the contact pressure occurring at the interfaces. A weight was attached to the end of the limb socket to examine the effects of weight on the local pressures acting on the residual upper limb. The observed interface pressures and pressure distribution at the interface can provide valuable information to clinicians and developers that can guide fit improvements. © 2021. Learning Stable Robotic Skills on Riemannian Manifolds

In this paper, we propose an approach to learn stable dynamical systems evolving on Riemannian manifolds. The approach leverages a data-efficient procedure to learn a diffeomorphic transformation that maps simple stable dynamical systems onto complex robotic skills. By exploiting mathematical tools from differential geometry, the method ensures that the learned skills fulfill the geometric constraints imposed by the underlying manifolds, such as unit quaternion (UQ) for orientation and symmetric positive definite (SPD) matrices for impedance, while preserving the convergence to a given target. The proposed approach is firstly tested in simulation on a public benchmark, obtained by projecting Cartesian data into UQ and SPD manifolds, and compared with existing approaches. Apart from evaluating the approach on a public benchmark, several experiments were performed on a real robot performing bottle stacking in different conditions and a drilling task in cooperation with a human operator. The evaluation shows promising results in terms of learning accuracy and task adaptation capabilities. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Isoforms refer to different mRNA molecules transcribed from the same gene, which can be translated into proteins with varying structures and functions. Predicting the functions of isoforms is an essential topic in bioinformatics as it can provide valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms of gene regulation and biological processes. Conventionally, gene function lab.ls are standardized in Gene Ontology (GO) terms. However, traditional methods for predicting isoform function are largely limited by the absence of isoform-specific lab.ls, sparse annotations, and the vast number of GO terms. To address these issues, we propose HANIso, a deep learning-based method for isoform function prediction. HANIso leverages a pretrained protein language model to extract features from protein sequences. It also integrates heterogeneous information, such as isoform sequence features, GO annotations, and isoform interaction data, using a Heterogeneous Graph Attention Network (HAN). This allows the model to learn the importance of different sources of information and their semantic relationships through the attention mechanism. Our method can predict function lab.ls at both the gene level and isoform level. We conduct experiments on two species datasets, and the results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing methods on both AUROC and AUPRC. HANIso has the potential to overcome the limitations of traditional methods and provide a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of isoform function. © 2023 IEEE.
