Super-resolution reconstruction of single image for latent features

Single-image super-resolution(SISR)typically focuses on restoring various degraded low-resolution(LR)images to a single high-resolution(HR)***,during SISR tasks,it is often challenging for models to simultaneously maintain high quality and rapid sampling while preserving diversity in details and texture *** challenge can lead to issues such as model collapse,lack of rich details and texture features in the reconstructed HR images,and excessive time consumption for model *** address these problems,this paper proposes a Latent Feature-oriented Diffusion Probability Model(LDDPM).First,we designed a conditional encoder capable of effectively encoding LR images,reducing the solution space for model image reconstruction and thereby improving the quality of the reconstructed *** then employed a normalized flow and multimodal adversarial training,learning from complex multimodal distributions,to model the denoising *** so boosts the generative modeling capabilities within a minimal number of sampling *** comparisons of our proposed model with existing SISR methods on mainstream datasets demonstrate that our model reconstructs more realistic HR images and achieves better performance on multiple evaluation metrics,providing a fresh perspective for tackling SISR tasks.

The emergence of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) has promoted the development of synthesized high-fidelity views of the intricate real world. However, it is still a very demanding task to repaint the content in NeRF. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that can take RGB images as input and alter the 3D content in neural scenes. Our work leverages existing diffusion models to guide changes in the designated 3D content. Specifically, we semantically select the target object and a pre-trained diffusion model will guide the NeRF model to generate new 3D objects, which can improve the editability, diversity, and application range of NeRF. Experiment results show that our algorithm is effective for editing 3D objects in NeRF under different text prompts, including editing appearance, shape, and more. We validate our method on both real-world datasets and synthetic-world datasets for these editing tasks. Illegible handwriting on medical prescriptions poses a significant challenge, often leading to the misinterpretation of drug names and dosages. This issue primarily stems from doctors' use of Latin abbreviations, driven by time constraints during patient consultations. The resultant discrepancies in prescription interpretation can potentially expose patients to incorrect medications and dosages, leading to adverse effects. In response to this concern, this study proposes a novel system integrating Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) models. Promising findings are reported in this study, achieving a loss of 0.4874 and an accuracy of 0.83 in the latest trial. The final model offers a potential solution to the persistent problem of illegible prescriptions, enhancing patient safety in the healthcare domain. © 2024 IEEE.

Small targets in infrared imagery exhibit challenging characteristics due to their minimal semantic information and the extremely imbalanced distribution between the targets and the background. In this paper, we propose a frequency band integration network to extract salient features of infrared small targets in both the spatial and frequency domains. To excavate the high-frequency features of the small targets, we propose a frequency decoupling-fusion module. To decrease the semantic loss that occurs in deep networks, we propose a semantic injection mechanism to assist in retaining critical information from shallow layers. Experimental results show that our proposed method reaches higher prediction accuracy and robustness in the infrared small target segmentation task compared with other state-of-the-art approaches. © 2025 IEEE.

The integration of renewable energy resources into the power grid has introduced challenging problems that need to be overcome to ensure system stability and reliability. This paper applied an Integrated Protection-Planning Simulation (IPPS) technology to evaluate an innovative Underfrequency Load Shedding (UFLS) scheme with the objective of complying with NERC Standard PRC-006-5 considering penetration of Inverter-Based Resources (IBR). IPPS technology creates a simulation platform that allows the modeling of highly detailed protection models in transient stability analysis. This paper took advantage of the new features enabled by IPPS and modeled a novel UFLS relay logic with Rate-of-Change-of-Frequency (RoCoF) supervision. The RoCoF-supervised UFLS has the advantage of avoiding misoperation at industrial motor loads and allowing for reduced UFLS time delay. A sudden loss of generation condition was simulated in IPPS according to the PRC-006-5 standard requirements. The protection logic of both the conventional UFLS program and the RoCoF-supervised UFLS scheme have been examined by incrementally increasing the IBR penetration level. The IPPS tool provided accurate simulation results including frequency profile and Volts per Hertz values at all generation buses. The performance of the novel UFLS scheme has been compared with the conventional scheme to validate its effectiveness. An automatic load restoration scheme to prevent frequency overshoot after UFLS occurs has also been implemented along with the addition of a Battery Energy Storage systems (BESS) to provide fast frequency response and further alleviate system-wide frequency decay. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

Colorectal intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer, which is mainly diagnosed using pathological images. According to the characteristics of lesions, precancerous lesions can be classified into four different grades, i.e., background, normal, low and high level. However, due to the continuity of lesion development, tissue in different stages has high similarity. Recently, visual transformers have achieved impressive results in different visual tasks, due to their capacity of capturing long-range dependencies. However, due to computational cost, transformer cannot well extract detailed feature, which is important for lesion grading. To accurately segment pathological tissues with high similarity, in this work, we embed the multi-head MLP mixer module in the transformer network to extract cell and edge information. Furthermore, we propose a hierarchical MLP decoder to facilitate multi-scale feature fusion. The proposed transformer, namely MLPFormer, achieves remarkable results against competitive baselines on the Histo-CRC Biopsy dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that MLPFormer significantly outperforms the competitive baselines, i.e., a 3% dice improvement is achieved over the SegFormer series. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

In order to address energy scarcity and provide high-quality lighting needs, a light brightness adaptive adjustment method based on fuzzy PID algorithm and optimization algorithm has been proposed. This method comprehensively considers factors such as indoor light source layout, sunlight distribution, and lighting sensor layout, and establishes corresponding constraint mathematical models with average illumination and uniformity as constraints. The experimental results show that the fuzzy PID method performs well in energy conservation, but the lighting quality is relatively poor;The optimization method is superior to the artificial neural network method in terms of energy consumption and lighting quality. Therefore, in intelligent indoor spaces, adopting adaptive lighting brightness adjustment methods based on fuzzy PID algorithm and optimization algorithm can effectively improve the efficiency of light utilization, enhance people's visual comfort, and reduce energy consumption. © 2023 IEEE.

The present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using modern neural network models (ChatGPT 4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GigaChat 3.0, YandexGPT 3) for generating mathematical problems for elementary school students. The research conducts a comparative analysis of the quality of generated problems, assesses the possibility of their direct use without expert review, and develops recommendations for automating the quality control process. The methodology includes the generation of various types of mathematical problems, their expert evaluation according to developed criteria, and statistical analysis of the results. The study identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each model, determines the types of problems in which the models demonstrate the best results, and suggests directions for further improvement of AI systems in the educational context.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a major subfield of machine learning that focuses on the interaction between humans and computers through several techniques, including topic modeling, which extracts and generates topics from large amounts of unstructured data on the web. Topic modeling uncovers hidden patterns and contextual meanings in web pages, allowing for the categorization, clustering, recommendation of relevant content, detection of emerging trends, and improved information retrieval. The benefit of topic models relies on their performance to detect and generate topics;however, the evaluation of applying topic modeling on web content data remains lacking in current studies. The absence of examining such performance evaluations hinders understanding performance variability across different web pages, the development of refined models, and the ability to keep pace with emerging patterns in the dynamic online environment. This study presents a comprehensive performance evaluation of the benchmark topic models when applied to web content data. It presents a comparison of topic models using four topic coherence metrics, providing an in-depth performance analysis. The evaluation is conducted on a public dataset consisting of 2 million web pages, providing a substantial basis for assessing the strengths and limitations of these models in the context of web data. Additionally, this study examines the utilization of NLP techniques for topic generation within the context of web content and sheds light on the challenges and issues associated with generating topics from web content data, highlighting potential research prospects and the need for future work in the field of web topic modeling using natural language processing. © 2023 IEEE.

With the increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a variety of applications, their safety has become a critical concern. UAVs face numerous emergencies during missions, in these situations, the UAVs need to autonomously find a suitable landing site, plan flight routes, and avoid obstacles in unstructured environments. However, due to the limitations of computing power and sensors, it is challenging to achieve this goal. This research aims to explore the monocular emergency autonomous landing algorithm. Specifically, this work focuses on extracting depth and vision information. A topology information extractor is designed to convert image to graph and assess the connectivity of terrain. Additionally, a depth information extractor is designed to calculate the slope and roughness of the ground. A 3D topology optimizer is designed to optimize the graph by depth information and evaluate the landing suitability by a heuristic strategy. To make the action decision, a hybrid decision network (DGN) based on 3D topology information is proposed. Finally, this work build a simulated scenario based on real scene to verify the efficiency of DGN. The results of the experiment show that DGN outperforms its counterparts in terms of action prediction accuracy and landing success rate. © 2023 IEEE.
