3d segmentation methods can be applied to the segmentation studies of large scale point cloud data in urban areas. In this study, point cloud segmentation was carried out for three big Chinese cities, nanemly Chengdu, Jiaoda, Shenzhen. due to not having enough labelled data from these urban areas for model training, transfer learning techniques were adapted using SensatUrban and Toronto-3d datasets. Experimental results show that proposed method enables achieving F1 scores above 80% for each region. Transfer learning strategy offers a reliable solution to overcome the problem of labelled dataset scarcity for the task of 3d point cloud segmentation in urban areas. The findings also contribute to the advancement of point cloud segmentation methods, particularly in the context of rapidly developing Chinese urban areas.

We propose a hybrid analysis method that uses a general SPICE simulator to perform high-speed and high-precision conduction noise analysis of flyback converter circuits. Time domain analysis, generally used for conducted noise analyses, is disadvantaged by its long analysis time. Frequency domain analysis, which requires a shorter analysis time, is also used for conducted noise analyses, but it struggles to reproduce the operating characteristics of semiconductors. The hybrid analysis method enables frequency domain analysis that considers semiconductor operating characteristics by using the results of a time domain analysis as a noise source. The results of our proposed hybrid analysis method matched the results of a time domain analysis across the entire analyzed bandwidth, from $1-100 \mathrm{MHz}$. The analysis time was about $1/10$ of that of the time domain analysis.

Since deep learning inference involves a significant amount of computations, there have been a lot of efforts to accelerate the inference process by eliminating ineffectual compu-tations. As a solution to this problem, several sparsity-aware deep learning accelerators have been proposed. These accelerators perform the inference on compressed data (filters and feature maps) and dynamically remove the ineffectual multiplications with zero operands. For efficiently handling the compressed data on the accelerators, a simple and effective compression scheme, which encodes the whole data with its nonzero values and their positions, is necessary. However, prior approaches have several shortcomings, such as low compression efficiency and high complexity in compression and decompression hardware. This paper proposes a low-cost compression scheme that can be applied to sparsity-aware deep-learning accelerators. The compression scheme synergistically combines two low-cost compression schemes: Zero-Value Compression (ZVC) and Base-delta-Immediate Compression (BdI). Our experimental evaluation shows that the proposed compression scheme achieves an average compression ratio of 2.26, resulting in 2.33x performance improvement, © 2025 IEEE.

In order to get more efficiency from the soil, the soil needs to be processed and made ready for planting. disc harrow facilitates soil preparation, since they are heat treated and become highly strong. Vibration causes break down and failure of disc harrows and mounting parts to the chassis. Therefore, it is important to investigate the frequency and amplitude of vibrations occurring during operations with disc harrows. In this experimental study, the disc harrow was connected to a tractor and operated together in order to get vibration measurements. The measurements were conducted with the help of a unit consisting of a three dimensional (3d) accelerometer vibration sensor, an interface and a special computer. The 3d accelerometer vibration sensor is placed on the chassis, where discs attached. The signals obtained from the sensors in volts were transferred to the computer after being converted to millivolts/volt in an interface. The acceleration values of the tractor were calculated, the graphics were drawn and the minimum, maximum and average values were obtained. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In recent years, the global wind power generation and marine development industries have seen significant technological advancements. The maintenance and cleaning of offshore facilities are essential tasks. Traditional manual diving operations are not only costly but also entail high risks, making the use of remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles (rOVs) crucial for assisting in various operations. The objective of this study is to develop a prototype rOV capable of cleaning marine growth from offshore wind turbine foundations. By applying a systems engineering approach to the development process, the study follows rigorous procedures including requirements verification, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, manufacturing and assembly, system integration, and testing and validation. This process successfully results in the development of a prototype rOV with underwater cleaning capabilities. during the development process, we divided the work into four main categories: mechanical structure system, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system, power system, and system integration. The design of the mechanical structure system considers the stability and durability required for underwater operations, ensuring that the rOV can operate continuously in various marine environments. The HMI system focuses on developing an intuitive and easy-to-operate control interface for the operator, enhancing the flexibility and precision of operation. The power system is designed to provide stable power supply in different mission scenarios, ensuring continuous power support for the rOV during long-duration operations. Finally, system integration is responsible for effective synchronization and collaboration between subsystems to achieve the intended goals. This study leverages the advantages of the systems engineering approach in equipment system development projects, successfully developing a prototype of rOV with underwater cleaning capabilities. As one of the efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, concrete containing high-volume mineral admixtures is being studied, and the authors are also developing high-strength concrete without Portland cement. This paper reports on the results of the study on fundamental properties and the effect of temperature on strength development of high-strength concrete without Portland cement. As a result, the following were obtained;1) The influence of powder and curing method on the relationship between compressive strength and Young’s modulus is small, and the influence of aggregate used is dominant, as in the case of ordinary concrete. 2) The use of ground granulated blast-furnace slag, with Blaine 6000, increases the development of compressive strength and also facilitates freeze-thaw resistance. 3) The compressive strength development of high-strength concrete without Portland cement is more temperature-dependent than that of ordinary concrete, and the apparent activation energy must be increased when evaluated at the effective age of the concrete. ©2025 The Society of Materials Science, Japan.

Greenhouse gas emissions, mostly CO2 release, on anthropogenic sources and industrial applications have triggered an increase in global temperature, termed as global warming and as-related climate change. Phosphogypsum (PG) is a by-product of wet process phosphoric acid production, mainly composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate (gypsum) together with some impurities. The annual accumulation rate of PG has reached 300 Mtons, and there is a need for an efficient, continuous, and bulk consumption strategy. Industrial by-products have been used as an alternative raw material for CO2 capture as a solid carbonate compound. PG is rich in calcium, being a promising candidate for CO2 mineral sequestration. In this manner, the Merseburg process (the ammono-carbonation of gypsum) allows both CO2 capture and PG recycling. Products are ammonium sulfate, a well-desired nitrogenous fertilizer and CaCO3, a functional filler material utilized in various kinds of industries. The Merseburg process allows dual environmental benefits by allowing the consumption of an industrial by-product and performing CO2 capture technology, both contributing to sustainable development goals. This study gives a brief summary of the environmental possible impacts of the Merseburg process in terms of CO2 sequestration and phosphogypsum management. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

In order to explore the actual performance of a micro-pump turbine under pump conditions, this paper builds a micro-pumped storage test platform based on micro-mixed-flow pump turbine, and then conducts energy characteristics tests in pump conditions and hump region on this basis. The final determination of the hump area range of 10.6 m3/h~18.2 m3/h;When the flow rate is 52 m3/h, the pump turbine efficiency reaches the maximum 81.91%, and the head is 16.683 m. In the test, it is found that when the unit runs to the hump area, the noise and vibration of the flow parts are generated, and the output power and efficiency curves show nonlinear growth of abnormal speed. In this paper, by setting up a test bench and conducting real machine tests, the pump operation of the micro-pump turbine is explored, and the hump phenomenon found in the test is further tested, which provides data support and improvement ideas for the next application and optimization design of the micro-pumped storage power station. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. This paper discusses permanent deformation of the fuel assembly of pressurized water reactors that have to satisfy a drop time requirement of the control rod assembly. during a seismic event, the fuel assemblies and the reactor core exhibit transient vibration. When the fuel assemblies collide, they develop impact forces in the spacer grids along the fuel assemblies. If the impact forces on some spacer grids of the fuel assembly exceed an allowable strength, the buckling occurs in the corresponding spacer grids, followed by permanent deformation. The geometry change of the buckled spacer grids leads to the movement of the guide tube positions in the fuel assembly. Therefore the geometry change is associated with the distortion of the control rod drop path. In this study, the permanent deformation of the spacer grids was measured during the impact tests, and the maximum deviation of the guide tube from the original position was investigated. Control rod drop tests were also performed to measure the change in drop time according to the deformation of the fuel assembly. Using actuators in the loop test facility, the authors realized the first and second bending mode shapes of the fuel assembly under the flowing water condition. Based on a series of drop tests, the critical fuel assembly deformation was identified that could lead to a violation of an allowable drop time of the control rod. Copyright © 2023 by ASME.

during ultradeep oil and gas drilling,fluid loss reducers are highly important for water-based drilling fluids,while preparing high temperature-and salt-resistance fluid loss reducers with excellent rheology and filtration performance remains a ***,a micro-crosslinked amphoteric hydrophobic association copolymer(i.e.,dAdC)was synthesized using N,N-dimethyl acrylamide,diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride,2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid,hydrophobic monomer,and pentaerythritol triallyl ether *** to the synergistic effects of hydrogen bonds,electrostatic interaction,hydrophobic association,and micro-crosslinking,the dAdC copolymer exhibited outstanding temperature-and *** rheological experiments have shown that the dAdC copolymer had excellent shear dilution performance and a certain degree of salt-responsive viscosity-increasing *** dAdC copolymer could effectively adsorb on the surface of bentonite particles through electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonds,which bring more negative charge to the bentonite,thus improving the hydration and dispersion of bentonite particles as well as the colloidal stability of the drilling ***,the drilling fluids constructed based on the dAdC copolymer exhibited satisfactory rheological and filtration properties(FLHTHP=12 m L)after aging at high temperatures(up to200℃)and high salinity(saturated salt)***,this work provided new insights into designing and fabricating high-performance drilling fluid treatment agents,demonstrating good potential applications in deep and ultradeep drilling engineering.
