This book contains the most up-todate body of knowledge on lumped elements and their circuits. The author believes that this book will be accepted by researchers, practicing engineers, students, and professors. Overall, this book is a balanced and comprehensive look at lumped elements, including chapters dealing with current topics on baluns and transformers, lumped element-based passive and control components, and active circuits. The active circuits described are amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, multipliers, frequency dividers, and other passive circuits, including baluns, inductors, capacitors, filters, and circulators. This book covers almost every lumped element there is and is the equivalent of a set of encyclopedias. Each subject starts from basics and moves to advanced technologies. The book also has many real-world examples with real-world design parameters, which gives designer good guidelines. Besides all this, this book lists 200 to 300 references in each chapter, which is a gold mine for researchers. Each chapter also has a wealth of researched, tested, and simulated data, tables, graphs, charts. All this is a mountain of treasure that will benefit any lumped element design engineer or researcher. To have this book on your bookshelf is equivalent to having a whole library at your fingertips.

This paper reports on the development of a novel soft robotic system for remote ultrasound applications. Direct contact of the ultrasound probe with the patient’s body represents a safety risk and therefore control of the probe’s positioning and applied force is a crucial task. The proposed robot uses a passive control system that provides safe interaction between the robot and the patient by leveraging soft robotics technology. The soft robot’s structure can be considered as a nonlinear spring which can be designed to exert a safe force within the robot’s workspace to guarantee the safety of human–robot interaction. The literature suggests that effective ultrasound imaging of both the heart and abdomen requires six degrees-of-freedom. These degrees-of-freedom consist of three translational motions, which are achieved using a novel hybrid soft cable-driven parallel robot, and three wrist motions, which is based on a universal joint design. The experimental results show that the robot can achieve all these six degrees-of-freedom, and its blocking force can be engineered to generate a uniform force within the workspace. Albeit with the notable benefits associated with Dirichlet crash frequency models and spatial ones,there is little research dedicated to exploring their combined *** ensemble approach could be a viable alternative to existing models as it accounts for the unobserved heterogeneity by relaxing the constraints of specific distribution placed on the intercept while addressing the spatial correlations among roadway *** fill this gap,the authors aimed to develop Dirichlet semi-parametric models over the overdispersed generalized linear model framework while also incorporating spatially structured random effects using a distance-based weight *** models were developed which include four semi-parametric with flexible intercept and one parametric base model for comparison *** four semi-parametric models entailed two models with a popular specification of stick-breaking Dirichlet process(DP)and two models with an alternative approach of Dirichlet distribution(DD),which are first applied in the field of traffic *** four models were estimated for mixture of points(discrete)and mixture of normals(continuous).The posterior density plots for the precision parameter justified the employment of the flexible Dirichlet approach to fit the crash data and supported the assumed prior for the precision *** four Dirichlet models demonstrated the presence of distinct subpopulations suggesting that the intercepts of the models were not generated from a common *** DP model based on mixture of normals illustrated better performance indicating its potential superiority to fit both insample and out-of-sample crash *** finding indicated that the approach of continuous densities,unlike discrete points,may lend more flexibility to fit the data.

This book is about the theory of RF circuits and systems and the practice of designing them. It is primarily intended for practicing RF engineers who are involved in printed circuit board (PCB)-based circuit design and system integration, with a focus on two particular groups of readers: 1) engineers who are equipped with sufficient educational experience and knowledge but who are relatively new to the field (they are not always sure how to use textbook materials in a real-world engineering practice) 2) experienced engineers with a great deal of practical knowledge who may, nevertheless, need to brush up on the theory behind the practice. All the practical design techniques covered in this book are for PCBbased circuits. The subject matter in this book was selected and presented with a primary motive: to be relevant to practitioners. This book uses numerous practical examples to clarify the concepts and facilitate discussion. Many of the circuit examples throughout the book and the comments on how analysis results can be used in everyday engineering practice are from the author’s own experience. In addition, the background information was chosen by the author to be useful to fellow engineers. The book can also be used as a supplementary text for a college-level introductory course in RF and microwave engineering.

This paper studies the trans formative role of Reinforcement Learning for Requirements engineering in the context of software development. Computational thinking is the systematic approach of defining a problem and crafting its solution. It employs computer programming algorithms to address scientific, engineering, and mathematical challenges using programming languages. Feedback plays a pivotal role in the learning journey of computational thinking. It is widely recognized that offering timely feedback to students on their computational endeavors significantly contributes to their achievement and overall satisfaction with the course. This research explores the implementation of an automated feedback system designed to evaluate and offer early feedback on computer engineering projects. The aim is to integrate best practices and software tools related to computational thinking into the thinking and learning processes within an engineering curriculum. Preliminary findings suggest that the automated feedback system enhances students' computational skills and improves their performance in the course. We anticipate that the insights gained from this research will inform the enhancement of curricula and course evaluations across different computational thinking tasks, disciplines, and courses.

Aerospace aluminum alloy is the most used structural material for rockets,aircraft,spacecraft,and space *** deterioration of surface integrity of dry machining and the insufficient heat transfer capacity of minimal quantity lubrication have become the bottleneck of lubrication and heat dissipation of aerospace aluminum ***,the excellent thermal conductivity and tribological properties of nanofluids are expected to fill this *** traditional milling force models are mainly based on empirical models and finite element simulations,which are insufficient to guide industrial *** this study,the milling force of the integral end milling cutter is deduced by force analysis of the milling cutter element and numerical *** instantaneous milling force model of the integral end milling cutter is established under the condition of dry and nanofluid minimal quantity lubrication(NMQL)based on the dual mechanism of the shear effect on the rake face of the milling cutter and the plow cutting effect on the flank surface.A single factor experiment is designed to introduce NMQL and the milling feed factor into the instantaneous milling force *** average absolute errors in the prediction of milling forces for the NMQL are 13.3%,2.3%,and 7.6%in the x-,y-,and z-direction,*** with the milling forces obtained by dry milling,those by NMQL decrease by 21.4%,17.7%,and 18.5%in the x-,y-,and z-direction,respectively.

The burgeoning fields of machine learning (ML) and quantum machine learning (QML) have shown remarkable potential in tackling complex problems across various domains. However, their susceptibility to adversarial attacks raises concerns when deploying these systems in security-sensitive applications. In this study, we present a comparative analysis of the vulnerability of ML and QML models, specifically conventional neural networks (NN) and quantum neural networks (QNN), to adversarial attacks using a malware dataset. We utilize a software supply chain attack dataset known as ClaMP and develop two distinct models for QNN and NN, employing Pennylane for quantum implementations and TensorFlow and Keras for traditional implementations. Our methodology involves crafting adversarial samples by introducing random noise to a small portion of the dataset and evaluating the impact on the models' performance using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score metrics. Based on our observations, both ML and QML models exhibit vulnerability to adversarial attacks. While the QNN's accuracy decreases more significantly compared to the NN after the attack, it demonstrates better performance in terms of precision and recall, indicating higher resilience in detecting true positives under adversarial conditions. We also find that adversarial samples crafted for one model type can impair the performance of the other, highlighting the need for robust defense mechanisms. Our study serves as a foundation for future research focused on enhancing the security and resilience of ML and QML models, particularly QNN, given its recent advancements. A more extensive range of experiments will be conducted to better understand the performance and robustness of both models in the face of adversarial attacks.
